My name is Joy. I’m a mom of three older kids - all three now young adults. I have been a SAHM since my oldest was a year old, only having a couple different part time jobs over the years once all my kids were in school. I have also enjoyed volunteering with several non for profit organizations. In 2018 I started my own business doing in home organization here in Austin, Texas as a professional organizer! I want to share some of the tips and tricks I learned from being a SAHM for over 20 years and as a professional organizer.

Hey Joy! It's hard to let go of certain items esp if there is sentimental attachment to it. My 17yr old is very sentimental and ANYTHING that we had when she was little...like elementary school age she will not let me get rid of it 😂. So there are things that I have that she will take with her when shes older and moves out on her own.
Your so neat and organized with storing your Christmas decor. I feel I toss things in a tote as long as it fits Hahaha. ❤
Yes, sentimental items can be tough and everyone is different about how attached they are to stuff. My daughter was also very sentimental about stuff when she was younger, but she has actually been decluttering a lot lately! It can take time! Thanks for watching!😊💞
Maybe your kids sentimental decor can be its own bin. Then you just have one or two bins of just Christmas decor.

I have a small boxwood wreath like yours, I keep it up all year. I have lavender picks in it now. I forgot to change it for fall but I’m going to try to remember to change it out with Xmas picks in December. I could change out the ribbon I use to hang it up with each season too. Just an idea maybe for you too. Mine is hanging on my pantry door.

Happy Tuesday! My parents are in FL with me. They drove from FW and arrived on Sunday evening. My family is taking a cruise 21st-30th to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary! My twin, her hubby and nephew are flying in on Monday and we will leave on Tuesday. I will get my Xmas decor out after we return. In case I don’t catch another video before my trip, have a great Thanksgiving and birthday! 🦃 🎂 Do you have an special holiday or birthday plans?

We don’t have any big plans. My in laws is usually come down from the Dallas Fort Worth area for Thanksgiving, but my MIL just had surgery yesterday so they won’t be joining us this year. It will just be the 5 of us! Thanks for watching!😊💞
I'm trying to remember if you have any cookbooks so you could maybe use the bookends on the shelving unit in the kitchen area. Perhaps the long rose gold tray could be incorporated into a tablescape... with or without the beads. Joy, if I was able to declutter my childhood Easter basket that was over 40 years old, you'll be able to let go of that strange wooden egg holder too. 🙂
Hahahaha! Yes, that is so true Jenny! I don’t know why I have sentimental attachment to random things!😂 I got rid of my kids’ Easter baskets! (With their permission of course!) @@OrganizedWithJoy That's one of the clutter traps... the longer you hold on to something, the harder it can be to declutter. It's like subconsciously we attach greater value to it because we've been through so much with it in our lives. This should really be a comment for Thoughtful Thursday though! 😂
@@jennyjenkins877 Yes! This is so true! I don't know if you remember all of those little white pumpkins I got rid of this past fall? It was hard to let go in the moment because of how long I had them, but now I have no regrets! Thanks for reminding me of this!
Hey Joy! Last year I did a huge fall and Christmas decor declutter. However, now that I have my vendor booth I wish I had some of that stuff! Although, now that I am doing my booth I have a lot more “stuff” around and it’s kind of driving me crazy!
