- "Nightdriver" is EIDA's fourth release from the album "Pop Songs for No One.
About EIDA:
We are the kind of pop band that works well with deadlines. Give us 2 weeks and we will write you 5 songs. Beware though; quality may vary.
About the Song:
From galaxies distant, our little city of Dhaka could look like a cluster of stars. There's just so much light.
Zoom in a little closer, it may look something like the back of a translucent butterfly floating over an abyss.
A little closer (like Google map close) and it's a bonafide metropolitan! The sheer urbanity of the city night sky can spur intense political discussions about why we don't rival New York or Paris already.
But this is where you should stop it with the zooming. From this point onward, shit falls apart. The illuminated gridlines become insufferable gridlocks. The vibrance is exposed, the spirit is debunked. What is left is a city burnt out from overreaching itself.
Zoom in any more and you get a taste of the real nightlife of this city. It's you, a newlywed, sat on a public bus, 3 hours after your office closed. You're sweating profusely, you have a 5-hour sleep to catch, and what's supposed to be the best time of your life is just slipping away from your fingers. You just can't take this anymore. Gggaaaaahhhhh.
Someone get news out to the galaxies. We don't want the lights to betray some innocent aliens into this speed trap. I mean, we still make do, but it'll probably be pretty hard for someone to go from lightspeed to 4 km/h just like that.
Lyrics:
Tell the streets to be sober
When the cars run over
Know me I'm a pushover
Don't fancy me Donald Glover
Clover leaves to the night, please hold me
She's so far, so far
Offer me a lifeline, save me!
A thousand steps too far
This life is so bizarre
Is there anybody holding me, this cold in me?
Will anybody slide me in, hide me in the night?
And I'll begin to fly
To you my darling time
Is anybody there to see, this cold in me?
Tell the kids to move over
To a halt we're closer
In a loop can we go far?
Feel this night drive slowing,
Growing streets of delight consume me
She's so far, so far
Offer me a lifeline, save me!
Is there anybody holding me, this cold in me?
Will anybody slide me in, hide me in the night?
And I'll begin to fly
To you my darling time
Is anybody there to see, this cold in me?
Nightdriver is produced by Raihan Mahbub Rasha at Hungry Dog Studio. We are incredibly thankful to Tanvir Ahmed for the artwork and the animation. Credits to The Midnight for the inspiration!

Made in Bangladesh?
Damn I'm so proud
Those who are here after watching KAISER, some info for y'all:
Both songs are produced by Raihan Mahbub Rasha, who played drums for Eida and Arekta Rock Band. Also both the bands share the same guitarist and bassist, Sakib Manzur Zihan and Arjo Biswas. Sakib MZ plays in multiple bands, one of them being Embers in Snow, among many. Listen to the originals by Eida's guitarist Samiul Haque, like "Badha", "Adieu", "Daag" and "1020" and Eida's vocalist Hassan Munhamanna's single "Bachao".
More interesting facts:
Hassan Munhamanna was the vocalist of the band Absentia, you'd be amazed by the contrast of the vocalist's output (Check out "Bhrom", "Super Namek", "Trifect of Doom" and many others). Hassan is also the current vocalist of the band Conclusion. Riasat Azmi of Arekta Rock band is also the vocalist of Severe Dementia and a kickass lawyer. The guitarist of Arekta Rock Band Ifaz Abrar Reza also played with Fuad al Muqtadir. These bunch of individuals are super talented.
Bangladesh has gems. Plenty.
thanks for the information

Never thought a song from Bangladesh would be so relevant for a night drive on pacific coast highway in Southern California. The Bangladeshi home minister aptly said "Dhaka looks like Los Angeles from the sky".
এতদিন the midnight এর 80's Synthwave গুলা শুনতাম, আমাদের দেশেও এত দারুন কাজ হয় জানা ছিল না, you guys should definitely do some more tracks like this. Go on.
This has to be one of the nicest and beautifully composed English song by a Bangladeshi band! You guys are going to get up high real soon! Keep blessing us with these gems!

this is composed by a Bangladeshi band?! How?!!!!!!!!!

When I first heard this was a Bengali band, I was awestruck. Our music scene is pretty lit, and it keeps getting better with time. Need more exposure!!
My American and Canadian friends are drooling over this song along with me!!! want more.....
description না পরলে বুজঝতাম না বাংলাদেশ এর ব্যান্ড। massive respect 🙌. amazing voice, amazing composition. added to the fav list.
বাংলাদেশে এই রকম গানের ব্যান্ড এর যাদুকর আছে এখনো, 80's এর ভাইভ পাওয়া যায়। অনেকেই জানেনা, যেমনঃ 1.Eida
2.Karnival

I absolutely adore the series "Kaiser". While watching the beautiful intro I had this heart wrenching feeling of nostalgia. I realized it's because of this beautiful song that I felt nostalgic. We need more and more songs like these that make us feel like there's nothing at all. But the song itself, me and the Universe

Probably, those 10 dislikes came from the Oporadhi song's followers.
Yeah damn true dude!😂
Yeah 😁😁😁
those who follow or like songs like "oporadhi" they don't even know about these type of songs. I am pretty much sure those dislikes came from the people who compare our local singers with the established western music composers. like, "ei "baal" der accent naai abar oder moto gaite jaay".
Apnara sheshob manushder dictionary te "Appreciation" naamer kono word paaben na.
so true
With due respect, those oporadhi lovers probably don't even give a shit about this song. We are the one who keep posting hate comments on that songs and their listeners. You won't see anyone in that song commenting shit about our favorite songs. Dude, try to respect everyone. It's the better way.
I love the retro vibes. I hope NewRetroWaves take notice of this.
When it was suggested on my homepage I legit thought its from NRW
I never thought it could be a Bangladeshi band, I finished listening to the whole song, then I saw in the description all our Bangladeshi বড় ভাই, believe me, nothing could be more lovely than this
