  • Come along and check out the 63' Volkswagen Bug as we get started on the project of reviving this cool car. It last ran back in 2005 so it's been off the 16 years. We'll be working on the project for the channel as this will be episode to introduce the car to the channel.

    If you have a compressor blow air into the tank in that line. If the sock filter is plugged it will blow it off. Then you can put another filter in the hose you are dealing with.

      Good tip to know, thanks Daniel and will try again if becomes a fuel issue with flow... it's been running and starting nicely now and very few sediments showing up in the filter. I still need to check the fuel sending unit as the gas gauge isn't reading, was hoping to peek into the tank then too :)

    Dosn't hurt to change the fuel pump with a new one.

      @@RABBITMotorworks 2 bolts and it's off and a new one is cheep and even better is to bypass it with a electric one in your fuel tank..I had a 61 bug and your engine looks just like that 40 poopie horse power I had the only diffrence I had mine when it was only 8 years old for 100$ , yours is 57 going on 58 years old and a little money pit now.

    Wait, did I miss it, or did you use the starter to pump out all the fuel? Seems like the video jumps past that part, or I misunderstood what you said you were going to do.

      Couldn’t drain the tank with the pump because the line and fitting under the tank was clogged with brown crud, when I removed that only about a gallon was in the tank

    6Volt 40 hp corvair beater in the 'heat dept.'? naw but it would start in winter.

      @RABBITMotorworks  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah it's a 6 volt, the heat haven't tried yet but did notice the gate/valve at the back near the engine with the cable seems disconnected... out in SoCal everything starts in the winter :)
