Gvozdyk's (name mispronounced by the commentator) jab was nonexistent, he was too passive early and did not exploit the situations when he had Stevenson in trouble. There was definitely a knockdown in an early round. Stevenson was clearly fading in the late rounds, Dvozdyk did not seem to be able to exploit it, but finely he did. The quality of commentator statements was poor.
The announcer is being too hard on Griffin. Yes, Griffin missed the knockdown in the third round, which cost Gvozdyk a point but forced Stevenson to get back into action without the benefit of an eight-count. Griffin not calling a knockdown in the 10th evened things out--if it was a knockout at all; bouncing off the ropes is not the same thing as "is being held up by the ring ropes". If Griffin _had_ called a borderline knockdown on Gvozdyk it would have been worse. As for "allowing Gvozdyk to take a ten-second timeout" in the 10th, Gvozdyk stopped fighting and walked to the corner with 2:02 left; Griffin walked over at 2:00 to see what the hell was going on, raising his hand to interrupt the action although Stevenson, also confused, had already stopped, and then immediately waved them back into action. What does the imbecile announcer think that Griffin should have done?
i dont think it has nothing to do with age - stevenson is a puncher and if you stop throwing punches you gonna get punched and stevenson chin havent been really tested since people are just protecting themself - glad he is doing good now
