- In this DIY Kitchen Cart on wheels project we built a kitchen cart for our home using regular lumber. The measurements, free plans and detailed steps for this build are available on mellowpine- mellowpine.com.... The top panel is done using shou sugi ban technique and PU applied after it. The bottom part of the cart is painted using Varathane Chalk Paint.
This is a beginner woodworking project. The frame of the cart uses dowel joinery and the top panel is glued on to the frame. Subscribe to Mellowpine_DIY to watch woodworking tutorials and free plans to build them.

Great project, everything done so well. My only suggestions would be to attach the top with L brackets to the frame. This will avoid having nail holes in your beautiful top and will allow more room for expansion
This is a good idea. Will consider this. Thank you so much.
Love this tutorial!👍 thank you for sharing!👍

Thank you so much
No concern the warping will just pull the whole thing apart?
I've had it for a bit now, and it has stayed together well. The warping has been fixed by clamping it overnight and then filling the cracks produced due to the clamping. Burned again afterwards. Now it's fine.
If the legs are 2 x2 s (1-1/2" x 1-1/2" net) and the brace pieces are 2 x 3 ( 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" net) why is there a clear difference in the thickness of the brace pieces compared to the the leg pieces? If the leg pieces are 1-1/2" thick and the braces pieces are the same thickness, those pieces would be flush with each other.
The caster wheels you link to in the plans are not the same as you put on the cart.
