Dried Up River & Mountain Side Pool - ABANDONED

I know that place Adam, I use to swim in that pool, Jenny Wiley State Resort Park closed it, and that is an inlet from the lake is all, they let the water down in the winter from the spillway area and raise it back up to summer level in the summer time, then you are able to fish in that area, use to be a miniature golf course there too, but now they use that ramp for launching boats into the lake, loved the video though, was wondering what the swimming pool looked like now, so glad to have seen it after all these years. I do go over to that area in the summer when the water level is up, and fish sometimes. I enjoy all of your videos, very interesting places, travel on!!

very cool,i learned to float and swim (falf assed) as a kid. so sad to see it gone. that water was deep at that time,it was a little beach and so pretty back then.i live n paintsville.thanks for the vid adam.a ride down memory lane.
Another amazing find! Thanks for sharing with the world Mr Woo. Reminds me of an outdoor pool I used to go as a kid, it shut down, rotted away, was then turned into a nature area then guess what - yep they built houses on it!
Another job well done. And it always helps to have a cute friend at your side. You must have buddies all over the country, cuz you get alot of them involved.

Crazy how fallen apart stuff gets just over 8 years of being left alone. Weird how the river dried up. Then again it might have got diverted to another area by a local dam perhaps. Great video Adam thanks for sharing.

KENTUCKY! WOOO! Hey, we got an abandoned old motel down here in Hopkinsville... problem is its right on the boulevard... might be tricky. Love this as usual, Adam! And love that youre in KY here!
I love your awesome videos and I have been here alot growing up.. But have not been here since 8 years ago.. and I had no idea it had ran out of funds for this place til you posted this video.. it is so sad cause, it used to be full of fun and a great fishing location... and there were like 200 ducks all the time there threw the summer.. Kentucky has really been hit hard for the last 10 years on loosing funds for recreational places... it is so sad to find this out.. It used to be pretty awesome and full of people all the time as I was growing up..

I cant even imagine how many people would come in during its heyday on a hot summer day. Must of closed because of the river drying up? Kinda reminds me of the Elderado springs pool up here in Boulder,CO which is 100 years old.

What area of Kentucky is that? It looks an awfully lot like the area where my wife and I went camping back in '87. I remember at the time thinking it was strange for a small community to have such a nice community pool. If memory serves the area we went camping in was somewhere just south of Cincinnati.
The Himlerville mansion is old and been abandoned for years.. It is at the beginning of the hollow of Elk Creek were my mother law lives at right now.. if you ever come here please send me a FB message to Celina Booth that you are gonna make the video so i can watch it... thanks and take care

It's amazing how much can happen after only 8 yrs of disuse.
Strange that this pool is in such a remote area - appears to be anyway. Looks like the marshy area on the ground was a reservoir of some kind. There are two reservoirs not too far from where I live, one of them is a tourist attraction and nature preserve. You can even go on boat rides (Manasquan Reservoir). I go there quite often to take nature pics. That's what leads me to believe that the barely wet area on the ground there used to be a reservoir. Shame that it was left to decay

the stairs that lead no where kind of look like the other stairs. maybe that was a renovation or something that resulted in the stairs that lead to nothing. either way this place is pretty awesome
You're standing on the dock...you hear a loud noise coming from afar. You have your back turned so you're facing downstream, when you quickly realize said loud noise is coming from behind you...You turn to see a flash flood heading right towards yo! You tie yourself to one of the boat ties to keep from falling into the raging river. The flooding stops. You untie yourself from the boat tie and jump into the water. From that point on, all is right back in the hills of Kentucky. The end.
