As someone who makes plush toys often, one thing that’s worth mentioning for anyone who wants to sell them is to always check the pattern permissions when using a premade pattern! Many sellers on sites like etsy will specify whether they allow their pattern to be used for selling things, and if they don’t just message them and they’ll probably get back to you with an answer.

Wow, it's like you can read my mind. I just finished making my granddaughters hair accessories. I love making my loved ones smile and since I haven't seen them in almost 2 years it was even better. Now, since they are coming for the summer, Annie wants a sewing machine for her birthday and she wants Grammy to teach her to sew. I feel like I'm passing the torch to the next generation!

I'm not selling anything but I recently started making cat toys out of a desire to not throw fabric scraps away. I use bigger scraps for the out side and snip up small scraps for the filling. I have 3 cats and they enjoy having a variety of toys to play with. You just have to examine the toys periodically to make sure they aren't falling apart because swallowing thread and fabric scraps would be bad for their health.

Small gift bags - 2 types - with a drawstring or the type with a ribbon that wraps and ties. The drawstring type take a little more effort due to having to sew a casing for the drawstring. The other type you just measure out a piece of ribbon long enough to wrap and tie in a bow around the gathered top of the bag, fold ribbon in half, catch the folded part of ribbon in a side seam (toward the top of the bag) with the long ends hanging on the outside of the bag. I have also found that used drier sheets are good for using to make these small gift bags ( 1 folded for a very small bag and 2 for a slightly larger one) They look light and delicate and of course are slightly sheer. The size using 2 drier sheets are big enough to use as a packaging for items like greeting cards or gift tags - the smaller ones for small trinkets or small tags. No matter what fabric you make them from you can leave them as is or decorate with bits of ribbon, buttons, beads, small silk flowers, or a bit of embroidery.
