Well this was a nice surprise! I literally just finished watching your The Evil Within 2 speedrun and this popped up, '14 minutes ago', I said woo! Into the kitchen I go, put a chicken korma in the microwave and got settled in.
And I agree about the ship segment I literally sigh every time I finish the Jack fight cos I know the good part is over. The lack of variety of enemy really gets to me and all the cinematic goings on dragging it out. Imagine even just the salt mines with a new enemy, something like the reapers from RE5. But what's done is done, it's still one of my favourite RE games and games in general.
Thank you very much for this Madhouse, and for your opinions on the game. I've a few tricks for the next time now. About RE7 plot, I wouldn't say it's perfect either, but narratively it's one of the most excellent titles in the franchise for me.
And I completely agree with you on how the highest difficulty mode of Resident Evil 4 (2023) and those that follow it should be.

I'm not a big fan of the boat section but I actually really liked the salt mines. I wish that section were longer.

Madhouse is my favorite hard mode. Really had me the first time with the mixed enemy and item placements. Great game overall, one of my favorite in the series.

Damn. Last time I saw and played RE7 was couple years ago. What a great game. I forgot some of the parts, mostly I remember the house. Like You said, first half of the game is perfect. I wonder what will they do with RE9. Will it go into true-horror vibe like here, or again into camp-horror like with RE8 and RE4 remake?

RE7 newgame+ really hit me like a completely new game. It was very well implemented newgame+ overall, challenging, but in a fair way, unpredictable and it really adding alot of replayability. The lesser amount of checkpoints also makes it edgy.

Is such a shame that after this amazing thing they went back to the call of duty mode with village y re4. I really believe that those kinds of games (RE 4, 5, 6 y Village) should've released under a different IP name.

I have played this series in a bizarre order. 😂 2 and 3 remake, then 5 remaster, then RE 1 and Zero HD, then Village. Have the PS4 versions of the others on my shelf waiting to be played.
Think I've spoiled the story of 7 for myself but meh. Still enjoy the games.

Yeaaah. The second half of the game was a total slog. The opening is so inspired and original, it sucks that they couldn't keep up that momentum.
