- A knife is more than something we use to cut our steak with - it's a survival tool! And when wielded properly, it can serve for a variety of survival tasks including navigation, fire starting, food procurement, self defense, and more.

BTW - you're awesome, especially if you've read this much. There's not many like you - Thanks for hanging out with me here for a few minutes. - Zábava
would you like if some randome dude starts skinning you just for the sake of finding his way wandering around ?
wtf ...
Honestly, if natural selection takes out a few - I’m ok. I’d rather people be prepared for worst case scenarios and not die because they were afraid to scratch a tree.
@@STOKERMATIC ... a survivalist that destroys his environment .. genius.
I think you missed the point.

Thank you sir, this couldn’t have been easy moving the camera 100 times and doing the thing your trying to example, correctly. I can appreciate your efforts and enjoy the fact people found it useful and helpful in their journeys as well, sharing knowledge is how we stay independent. Thanks for being apart of that. I wish you well, sir. Take care.
The subtle flex of using a different knife for each skill lol. Lots of good stuff in this video. Awesome job!
Awesome video Stoker! The knife, in my opinion, is one of if not the most versatile tools you should carry on you. Great content brother. It always helps to go over the basics to keep them engraved in our minds! Take care man and stay stoked!!!
Same to you!
I believe the knife is the tool that brought Mankind out of the Stone Age.
For me, carrying and using a knife brings back a primal sense of security and comfort.
Outstanding video. Loved the style of it.
We’ll fine. 👍🏼👍🏼

Semper Fi!
I’ve found it useful to make the blaze slightly lower on the side you’re going towards than the side you’re coming from. This way if you get yourself turned around and come across your blaze, you’ll be able to differentiate between your destination blaze and the one you want to follow to get back to the road or whatever.
That's what this gentleman in this video did when he made the the marks in the bark. I figure that what you said was the reason. The difference in direction of travel.
The trail blaze on a tree is a great resource in a bind. Please don’t do this unless you are in a real pinch and need too. Landscaping tape is really cheap. This technique is very likely to introduce diseases to the trees and may kill them.
Leave an empty lot alone for 5 years and it will be full of trees.
Not to mention that on State and Federal ground in the US it's illegal. However if it is a last ditch survival thing slice away. Surveyor tape is a great idea and you can easily take it down on your way out if possible.
I got my first "real" knife for Christmas at age 9 from my father. He gave me a Swiss army knife at age 6 or 7, but that folding Buck knife with holster was truly a rite of passage.
It may be irrational bias, but I've never been able to much respect a man who doesn't carry some kind of knife.
Great drills and these should be practised often with ALL the different knives that we own to ensure smooth skills and knife suitability in a survival situation. I tend to use an Essee 4 as the standby in all my packs with a SAK Ranger 55 and a windproof lighter in a twin pistol magazine pouch. Nice work and great content.

Really enjoyed that brother
Cheers from Oz
Good video. God bless. From Glenn CATT in Massachusetts.
Well done Bill!
Making blazes: Would it make sense to make them in horizontal & vertical directions to indicate 'forward path' vs 'return path?'
It’s easier to make them vertical, though I prefer flagging tape TBH
I also typically carry a large lumber crayon which could be used for direction arrows.
Good stuff brother!
Thank you for another great video.
Man this video is chock-full of excellent advice. You have an excellent teaching Style. I'm learning quite a bit. Thanks Bill
🇺🇸
Very, very, very good points to pass on. Basic for those in the know... lifesaving for amateurs and neophytes! 😊
I forgot to add. Some say that the cultivating hoe was man's first tool. I say that that may be true for gatherers. In my opinion, the knife was the first tool. For hunters, to survive, and overall, the first tool!
Hi from the uk 🇬🇧 great channel 😀 👍
Hey! 🥃🍻
Good Episode!
Hello sir!! I am a humble warrior from Brazil and I really liked your channel!! Thank you sir!!!
Where did the saw, ferro rod, cordage, tarp, etc. come from? If you only had a knife. If everyone blazed their trail by damaging a tree every hundred yards, there would no forest left.
Thanks for watching
Thats not what he asked
Omg that will not kill a tree you big ass cry babies trees are a renewable resource jackass dummies
AT 2,400 TREES CUT DOWN A

15MILLION-18MILLION

YOU SOUND SO FCKING STUPID.
HOW DO YOU PLAN TO SAVE THOSE TREES??
I ASKED YOU A QUESTION.
Good tips Stoker.
Practice is a requirement.
Stay Stoked!
Indeed!
Hi, a very good summary and video. Thx 🙂 Andrew
Awesome content as usual. Keep up these great videos. Use my fixed blade and pocket knife around 10 or more times a day. Never leave home without one
Another excellent video! Thanks Stoker! I always carry a couple little pocket knives everywhere I go, but this has made me realize the value of a bigger, tougher knife in a survival situation (although I've never been in one).
Right on!
Excellent video, thank you. I always feel ill at ease without a knife in my pocket
Me too!
I always have 4 in my pockets because no single one covers all the bases. (Yes, 2 are Victorinox brand...)
Great video! I learned a couple things. 👍
Always great to review basic principles, another solid video..! Oh, my favorite; the zombie sticker…💪🏻💥
🏴☠️🥃🏴☠️
Great video. Some magic knives.
THANKS
Just the first tip alone is worth it
Skill #1. Log jugleing.
Skill #2. Killing Zombies.
Great info! Thank you!
Hey Stoke,
Great vid, especially for folks who are getting their feet wet.
Awesome content, 👍
Blazing trees has helped me numerous times navigating through the woods locating deer 🦌 that I was tracking and returning without being disoriented.
Good stuff my friend !!!!!
Thanks for the handy tips from Forks wa
Awesome! Been a while since I’ve been that way.
Nice video today Top! I learned a method from watching a YT’er NW Primate… he drives the knife into a stump and then planes a knife stick to make the feather sticks, I think it gives a better control on the angle of planing, equals a better curl, or more usable surface area to take a spark easier. Good basics in knife handling is SOP IMO, know the tool and it limits…
Dig the ASEK Pilot Survival Knife, I never got around to getting myself one, always like the Ontario Pilots Knife… that was my first belt (read: LC-1/2 mixed with M56 webbing) knife in Civil Air Patrol and Young Marines… good memories!
Keep up the Fire!
Good stuff
Excellent Video Bill. I feel naked without a knife on me. In the field I usually carry a Bill Siegle, Scott Gossman or James Helm custom knife.
Right on!
😊Thanks for sharing
New SUB ! Good Lookin buddy u got there. TAKE CARE..
He’s the best!
great video!! thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge!!
Excellent info Top! I got my patch and sticker and wanted to say thank you for the swag and the letter too!
Glad it made it!
This is beautiful, this is content creation and member satisfaction in action at its upmost. Well done 👏🫡
Of ALL the places and the space they have, those mosquitoes gotta be in YOUR space! 😂😂😂
This was an awesome instructional video!! Especially the scraping of the trees to keep from getting lost!
Thank you!! NOW I’m STOKED!!!
I carry pre-cut pieces of surveyor tape in a gallon ziplock bag. just wrap a piece around a branch when you're nearly out of sight from it. Coming back it's easy to just pull them down and put them in the bag. I did this a lot when exploring new areas to pick mushrooms.
Well stated, great solution. 👍🏼
@@theleagueofshadows100 Thanks!
Great content, thanks for sharing
I like the video format. Has pop and spark! Easy to follow along and learn. These outdoor videos make me want to don a lion cloth, and run to the great outdoors...while carrying a blow torch to quickly get a roaring fire!...lol..😎🇺🇸..thanks for making the video.
Hell yeah!
8:25 bro the dog almost got it lol
Instead of defacing trees and leaving someone a good trail to track you buy, you should learn to read your surroundings and remember key landmarks.
How many different knives did your bring?
"Scrape it at eye level", then proceeds to scrape the tree above eye level.
great vids
Excellent
8:24 SEE THE BEAR 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I really like this video
👊
Another idea is to buy some cheap thin cordage, the brighter color the better and tie to the tree instead of cutting
if your going to do that to trees leave the flap and it will close itself back up after a few days !
don't mess up the trees!
Great tip actually, I wish more people knew about that and because of your comment, some more will. Thanks! 🙏
@@theleagueofshadows100 you are very welcome!
Good stuff! The karens will love the digging with a knife 🤣
they didn't make it past me harming the trees, LMAO
The wood told me what to do once or twice. Trouble Top, trouble.
😂🤣😂
Good video , thanks for sharing , God bless !
Same to you!
Always cut with the knife away from ur body not towards
I liked it
Good video. I like how you pulled the feral rod back. That's my favorite way. Every time I push the knife forward, I mess up my tender pile.
👊
Love the kabar
This will kill the tree 😮
9.45, horrific if that slipped, but otherwise an informative 10 minutes.
I think i saw a ka-bar bk2 at the beginning of the video!
Aprendi essa técnica de marcação de trilhas quando era adolescente no escoterismo.
Great video.. you also need to know how to hunt with a knife.. fight with a knife . As a knife is both a tool and a weapon for survival .
Unless you are in a true survival situation, take only pictures and leave only footprints. Carry orange tape or pins to marke your route back ( quicker and less damaging ). The less you play with knives in the wilderness, the less you will have to know about wilderness first aid and medicine LOL .
Get yourself Ahti Metsa or Juhla knife and stop killing yourself ❤️❤️❤️ no need to thank from you mate 🙏
9.14 I wouldn't be using the knife in that direction, Aways away from body parts
Good tips in a quick batch. Hope those blazes were on your trees and some landowner like Weyerhaeuser isn't on your trail, lol
No one tracking me 🤣😂
That guy never leaves the house Iam sure just crys about trees
Using a knife for digging is a good way to ruin the knife.
👍 for you and the algorithm
👊
Excellent vidéo ! Thanks ! I always Knives on me But if you had to keep one, which one ? Difficult Question !
Tough one! My KBAR & Essee have a special place though.
Experts advice .... Then here's you guys .. but the bark of the tree!. Lol. Wow. Just wonder around in a circle and die of exposure. At least a renewable resource was spared a scar that it would live through. Keyboard warriors are exhausting
i would not dig a hole with my knife. there could be small rocks or even big ones under the dirt that can damage your blade
Very useful tips thanks but please try to never carve with the knife in your direction, same with cutting make sure its not towards yourself, and don't lick food of your knife u can cut your tongue.
Scraping a tree with your knife isn't a knife skill, its a navigation skill. And as others have said, there are other ways than damaging the trees unnecessarily to mark your path of travel.
Instead of digging in the dirt with your knife and risking damage to the blade, use a stick to dig and poke around. Way more efficient and effective.
Pulling your blade towards you while carving is a rookie mistake, especially the way you're showing, stabbing yourself in the heart isn't good for business..
That’s great. Destroy every tree in the place because you don’t know how to walk in the woods. Maybe you should just stay at home.
How much trees he spoiled and wasted 😢
pencil sharpener help faster
If all the people who are going into the woods will scrap the bark so deep, soon the forest will no longer provide shelter
It's a VERY STUPID idea to tie a knife on a spear, thus risking to lose it in a fight! Better harden the sharp woodtip by burning it shortly in a campfire.
Is this Telegram stuff a real thing??
NO! Fake account and I just reported & removed from channel.
Whenever I travel overseas I only check in my knife. I carry a 4” knife attached in my cowboy boot on all my travels.
I'm too toked to stay stoked! I gotta quit using my knife skills to process weed. I do keep grinding though! 🤣😂🤣
🤣😂
Great video though. It's nice to see an instruction from a guy who actually knows how to strike a farrow rod. So many people do it backwards, and are teaching others to do likewise.
Please never cut with the knife in your direction if you hold the wood like he did against his chest and carve the wood towards himself, if he went too hard he could have cut himself, accidents happen, never lick food of you knife you can cut your tongue.
