Why Guinea pigs and not rats or bunnies or chinchillas?
Just curious 🥰
I’ve personally had rats and I’ve helped rescue and transport all sorts of animals including rabbits and chinchillas. Since we are a foster based rescue we really only have the resources and capacity to care for Guinea pigs. But many of my team also have other animals, we love them all. The amount of Guinea pigs in need here in SoCal is staggering, even with several other Guinea pig rescues here, we’re all still struggling to make a difference.
@@SoCalGuineaPigRescue I do have Guinea pigs and a bunny myself but wanted to try owning rats and possibly chinchillas
So many people get hooked on rats they must be amazing pets
@@lenajazuk4231 I had rats for 10 years they’re amazing! It was the short lifespan that finally broke me though. I couldn’t take losing them every 2-3 years. 😢 chinchillas are great too and have a much longer lifespan

Do rats get sick often?
It does throw me off when pets get sick not to mention how crazy experiences it is right now to treat them
