The challenge of being a surgeon is to have "the audacity to do and the lucidity to see". It's this approach that has enabled him to learn from his mistakes, innovate and progress.
Pr Eric Vibert, MD, PhD is a liver transplant surgeon at the Paul Brousse Hospital, APHP.
He founded the BOPA chair for the augmented operating room, and is the only doctor to be an ambassador for France 2030.
Beyond his deep conviction that the public hospital could be saved by the innovations co-developed by the experts who work there, he explained to me :
. his love of the public hospital
. the link he makes between innovation and chance
. the need for medico-environmental discussions
. how he finds himself supporting medical issues for France 2030.
He shared how, following an operating error, he understood that error can be a source of innovation.
And how he turned it into a strength for his current commitment.
A humble surgeon is rare, but Eric goes one step further.
His words shed light on today's healthcare ecosystem:
    - public-private partnerships
    - health data warehouses
    - mistakes as a source of innovation
    - the human acceptability of technology
    - his links with the Paris Saclay Cancer Campus
    - international competition between hospital sites
    - doctor/patient communication to impart knowledge
    -
This discussion is not to be missed if you want to understand how healthcare is preparing for tomorrow, innovative and sovereign, and how we can exploit France's strengths in healthcare. It outlines the shape of tomorrow's Pharma.
An engaging speech that feels good!
