Take all the time you need king. Play other games with certified quality combat systems too so you can be inspired to create your own twist and turn and see what a great game is. Yakuza games, Sifu, Sleeping Dogs, Judgment. (naming these because they got amazing stories & 3rd person melee & gun combat (except sifu)) Can't wait!

Please do not abandon this game, killer bean was part of my childhood in Brazil and has a special place in my heart, a game that you can be inspired by is sword with sauce in terms of gadgets, Aragami 2 in terms of parkour and stealth (infamous parkour is cool too) a cool mechanic would be if when the character is walking backwards and jumping he does the back flip, take your time, don't let my dream die
Have you properly tested your gameplay mechanics with a closed group? It's important to know if the game you are designing is fun for everyone to play. Also the game seems a bit repetitive. Is there gonna be a progression system?

Well the core mechanics are still being developed, this is an early look, he specified “roguelike” so some sort of progression and upgrades are probably planned.

Didn't cappuccinos nephew get shot by killer bean? It makes sense for vagan to survive being shot since his vest was likely built to withstand being shot by a bullet. Cappuccinos nephew wasn't wearing any kind of protective gear at all, just a shirt. He is very much decaffeinated
I'm glad you called it early access, since if it was the final game, it would definitley be more messed up, really appreciate your work, but don't forget, care about your time and don't feel like you have a deadline to make a thing, since it will probably make you feel pressured. It makes me happy for you to have made it clear for those questions at more detail.

OK, from what I've seen, this game looks like it's progressing *really* well, and I'm definitely gonna get it. I'm super hyped to hear that other fresh faces are coming in and that it'll be on consoles; that'll be a blast for sure. If other characters will be playable, then it'd be cool if characters had unique playstyles from Bean's, like maybe Jet Bean would be more melee-based but could use his bracelets to block enemy fire. Have a good day, take care of yourself, don't push yourself too hard.
Thanks! Yes, here's the characters so far: Jet Bean will be purely melee. Killer Bean will be the only one who has slow motion. Vagan will be the stealth/sniper character. Cromwell will be able to command NPC cops. Chintow will be purely bladed weapons combat.
You should add the “Kobe’s grenade toss”
(How could it work: when someone toss you a grenade and the grenade hasnt touch soil yet, if you jump, and only, if you jump, you could press a button that it would do the whole “Kobe thing”. Also i think it would be really cool to add in other key, the same but in slow motion).

8.Will we ever figure out who the voice was? Or what happened to Cromwell? (Movie)

1. The full campaign will be 4-5 hours long, but every time you start a new campaign, it will be a different story. So it will be an infinite game.
2. Yes, it is a roguelike for ultimate replayability.
3. There will be a single player campaign, and also smaller multiplayer missions, and also sandbox mode.
4. Yes, it is open world.
5. No in game purchases.
6. Yes, you can use in game currency to buy various items.
7. Yes, you can go in some buildings, but not all.
8. Maybe you will see who the voice is. Cromwell might appear in this game too.
9. Yes, all characters will be beans, except for some animals running around, but they will be bean-shaped animals.

Killer bean was a part of my childhood. Never thought I might get the chance to watch and play its very own game.
We definitely need killer Bean to have an ability that lets him do the spin move he did on the table in the movie
ideas:
• able to pick up & use weapons like a rocket launcher, shotguns, snipers, and LMGs
•Have different enemy types like heavy gunners, snipers ,guys with shotguns ,guys with flamethrowers ,guys with RPGs and agents
•have in-game notes or audio logs to extend the lore of the world
•be able to upgrade your abilities like extra health , increase regeneration , extra slow down time, and extra damage
•have different bullet types
•have challenges to unlock different skins or costumes
•input the music from the movie into the game
•be able to drive the main character's car , a tank or even a helicopter.
I would personally love it if you could customize your character with skins such as the 1996 Killer Bean design.

It would be sick to get more detailed guns (moving slide, reloading ect), with cool, varied reload animations, I think that would be an awesome feature.

Since you’re going with a skill progression system, maybe a perk that adds some kind of active ability where Killer Bean dives through the air, auto shooting at any enemy within a 360 degree radius, just like the warehouse fight scene in the movie.

A Rogue-Like? Great idea. I thought you were going to just kinda intersperse clips from the movie level to level. Which would have been fine. This is a much better way to refine gameplay IMO. I had no clue this would be a roguelike, now I’m even more interested than before!
Idea: a resident evil mercenaries type mode where you get a variety of killer bean main/side characters with each with unique loadouts to begin with and you kill enemy beans until time runs out. Getting a good combo means extra time along with limited time extension pickups you find around the map. The maps could be areas in the base game, like the cargo area.
I can add some mini game modes like that :)

The game be looking good! I recall playing that 2D Platform killer bean game in android. Was fun. Though often levels got a bit... difficult. This one sounds nice. I can see it's just getting the basic functions of the game down. I wonder how the levels will be like n' other gameplay options down the line.
Killer bean is such a masterpiece, it is so nice to see this masterpiece as a game.
Be careful about promising co-op. It sounds like one of those easy things to branch out into but multiplayer of any kind is incredibly difficult, especially multiplayer that just _feels_ right. I'd know, I've worked on tons of multiplayer projects, you kinda have to architect your game around being multiplayer during its development for it to be pulled off well.
Yes, definitely. I know it will be very complex. That's why I'm not promising PvP, only co-op. I'll start developing co-op next month.
@@KillerBean In my experience, co-op isn't all that much easier than PvP. Syncing complex game state is incredibly difficult, if you're starting on multiplayer next month that's good, cause you'll have to rearcheitect a lot of what you have. The only ease that co-op affords you is that cheating isn't a huge issue cause game hosts/players can just leave.

A request and a question, will the game have boss fights and maybe add story achivements you can unlock per run as the steam page says there is gonna be a story. Im really exited to play the game, I really wanna play a demo for the game, secret achivements that the game or the steam desc does not tell you about that the internet has to find out how to get would be great and maybe cosmetics unlocked with achivements.I really want to try this as every aspect looks perfect

I had to laugh so much watching the first cutscene of Killer Bean 4K when I watched it for the first time months (years?) ago, from the epic dance animations to the ragdoll death animations, just too funny. And now you are telling me I can KILL THESE BEANS MYSELF in a game?! I immediately wish listed and I will get this game fr when it comes out. Take your time and don't rush development, if you need the time, take it and this game is going to be so much fun I believe.
