Saw this twice on Tubi 7 weeks ago. Crazy ass movie. Taught me a lot about what most students can be capable of when dangerously insane while a teacher can be targeted without a reason. Some students can be involved with gang related activities, while some are normal.
Fun fact: learning to ride a bike and how your brain processes traumatic experiences relies on the same mechanism, something called implicit memory. That’s why overcoming trauma is so difficult. Imagine someone saying, “Unlearn how to ride a bike”
MJ: “he had to have been younger in this movie.” He was younger, but his career didn’t take off until he was damn near 50. I believe he was 47 specifically.
@@juicesilverio859he was also in huge movies like "Coming 2 America" , "Goodfellas" , "Menace 2 Society" & "Jurassic Park" that he played small but important roles in even before "Pulp Fiction" !!!!! Actually the movie "Do The Right Thing" was the movie the first got him really noticed but "Pulp Fiction" was what made him a star 💯
Hey MJ, I just subscribed your channel!! I love this movie, 187 (1997) is beyond a classic film & tremendous performance by Samuel L. Jackson!! He was 49 at that time in this film, but he still looks young tho! Those gangsters are brutal AF & fucking terrified those poor teachers!! This movie was based on actual events bc it does happen in real life when teachers were attacked by vicious students are known to be gangs!! Great reaction love❤️
Great reaction! This is a very powerful movie! I haven’t seen this movie for a while. Thank you for reacting to it. I can’t imagine this movie getting bad reviews
They shave their head because back in the days, the Aztec warriors shaved their head before battle. It was so their enemy couldn’t grab their hair and use it against them.
PHALANGES lol. That part used to trip me out. He was taunting him after cutting off his finger. I was in High School when this movie came out. 90s memories
The most underrated Sam Jackson film by far !!!! Im glad ppl are finally reacting to this hidden gem ❤ Notice how the NY tone in this movie is all blue & dark but them the LA tone is all yellow or orange & all bright because the sun shines there more because its the west coast that has better weather more months out of the year verses the East coast that has more rain & gloomy weather
never pay attention to the reviews of movies cuz folks gon say negative things just to be sayin something, and 2. cuz ur taste in movies ain't gin be the same as anybody elses😎💯
Exactly, when Dawn of Justice aka Batman vs Superman came out, I won passes for the screening or showing before the release. Practically everyone loved it except this one guy who happened to be friends with a news reporter. He had told his friend how much Batman has changed and how everyone was sad in the theater after the showing. His friend put that on the news channel he worked for Facebook page. I commented along many others how wrong that guy was. But yes don't believe reviews because they are personal and as many cult classics can tell you the critics are wrong a lot of the times.
Finally , someone reacting to this great movie . It doesnt get the respect it deserves 😊😊😊 Also , jesus ......your playing into the stereotype in the movie of sueing people / teachers 🤣🤣🤣🤣
14:44 to 15:44; Tbh, MJ, back then, what you described gangbanging back then, it was mostly about money and/or turf, but the new generation just mostly beef over petty shit that would’ve been resolved with a talk or a fistfight and most of the time, it’s just revenge killings. One person close to them dies, then the another gets some getback for them and the cycle continues.
Enjoyed your reaction to 187. I think it got low reviews cuz of the subject matter. 187 was too raw for some people lol. Samuel L Jackson been acting since 1981 in minor roles. But his movie career really took off at age 46 in his legendary role as Jules in (1994) Pulp Fiction. That role earned him a Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. I hope you react to that movie someday! Pulp Fiction also started director Quentin Tarantino career. 😁
Great movie! I believe both of their turns were death in the end; no matter what the order; the outcome was inevitable. There were so many deep messages and perspectives in this movie and an overall teaching of how we learn from our experiences in life. We can wait and not see, or we can fight and try to understand. We gon' learn either way.
Clifton Gonzales aside from Sam Jackson always play some of my fave roles. He made cholos look soo cool when I was a kid, and in Westworld he's a dope Bandito lol
Hello MJ. I am a new Subscriber to your channel. I was wondering if you could do a reaction to the movie Fear? If you haven't already. Thanks and Love ya ❤️🙂
It's crazy how age-ism is a thing in people of colors' culture. Samuel Jackson has stayed top tier for 50 plus years and should be celebrated. Not too much on Jackson
As someone who was stupid enough to be outside it wasn't cause of thinking we bad, even my hmoies had respect for our elders though. But to say we had no reason to be on what we were is kinda disrespectful to me, even though I know it wasn't worth it. But at that time, all I wanted was revenge for my friends they killed in middle school before anyone was banging all cause they shot up the wrong party. But yeah, this movie is great, good representation of the mentality of a time, also about the school having graffiti everywhere, that was how my elementary school was bruh. That was just the 80's and 90's.
do you know why they shot up that party? i feel for you and im sorry that happened. but at the end of the day my point still stands. there couldnt have been a valid enough reason for them to shoot up that party. you had a reason to want revenge ofc. but they didnt. and if they did (which i doubt its a good one lol) the people who are "beefing" with them, didnt have a reason to do what they did. its just a ripple effect. there is no real reason to risk your life or others.
@@MJWITHOUTSPIDERMAN Wrong party, they wanted the crips two blocks down. They didn't have a reason to shoot up that party but it sparked off an entire Harlem war. It's never a good reason, like I said we stupid, but at that time, with anger it's all the reason needed. It's all a ripped effect I was giving my opinion because I get it but at the same you can't say it was for nothing. Abosultely call us out for making stupid emotional decisions but Tyrone Jarrell and Alexis aren't no reasons. For me and some of mine we just got lapsed into what we had got away from as a child of the Liberain civil war, it's all a reaction to emotional trauma.
Hello.. I do enjoy watching your reactions but sometimes your talking to much.. please try and refrain from talking,, we want to SEE your reaction more then Hear you narrate every lil detail… it throws everything Off. thank you
sucks i have to keep explaining this but again... the less i talk, the less "reaction" you see. if the videos are shorter, you guys will complain about that....
Clifton Collins Jr. (Cesar) has always been a very under rated actor.
your subscribers got you watching some real shit lol
This one of my favorite Samuel l jackson movies
Same The Cleaner is good too
Everytime i watch this movie im always shocked at how good Samuel played this role bro was acting like the rent was due
@@Treyski4410Almost as good as he was in Django Unchained lol

3 movies me and my father loved watching growing up, 187, The Untouchables, and Lean on me!

He was 45 when Plup Fiction jumped started his whole career.
He was in "Juice" too older than pulp fiction and 187

That cactus, with minimal effort, will live a lot longer than roses.
Also, I love this movie. The reviews/ratings baffle me.
I love this movie.
187 is one of my favorite movies. My mom put me on in 2011. I've been hooked ever since. Finally someone reacted to it.
This is my 2nd favorite sam Jackson movie so underrated. My first was his performance in jungle fever. He should’ve won an Oscar for that role imo

6:12 they call him the M.E.T.H.O.D MAAANN!
6:13 METHOD MAN
I always liked the other teacher empathizing with Sam Jackson's character at the end. He basically puts the whole movie in context in that one scene.
That blond hair white boy was rich acting like a Mexican 😄😆
Just watch it on Saturday one of my favorite for so long

Sometimes you gotta give thugs what they ask for
Getting rid of those bad students in infinitely better than helping the good students.
Unfortunately this what happens with low income schools which is why they're closing down so much
