Ryan. I just love these talks. It’s what I listen to while I milk. Your interview style is great. As an uncommitted tractor color I enjoy all brand discussions. Having grown up in the 80’s it was a tough time, but I learned so many lessons that have led to success. Since dairy farmers don’t have weekends you make me look forward to Fridays. Rambling over now!

Thank you very much! I hope they work good as podcast material. There's lots of history and knowledge in these farmers

I never thought that I would enjoy listening to total strangers talk about their tractor stories, but I an hooked. I have to admit that I do do business with Tractor Central and I know not the people you interview , but I live here and I know the area. Good work.

I can't thank you enough for these stories. Growing up in dairy through the 80's and 90's, a good time with buddies was driving through the dealers lots and looking for an open station 4430 to drool over. So many familiar names and places. Thank you for saving this heritage.

Another great story! I've watched half but I'll come back and finish later tonight for sure! Love the tractor stories. I live just north of you in East Farmington. Between Osceola and Somerset. I know a dairy farmer I worked for for 10years I'd love to introduce you too. Only farms with Deutz. He's got some cool tractors. I love deer, like IH. But those older Deutz he still uses daily are neat to say the least.

He's got an 100. 06 he bought at 18 that would be the perfect tractor to tell his family's story. He has the original deed to the farm from the late 1890's if I remember right hanging on the wall

My personal opinion on power between a 730 and the 4010. The 730 was really comfortable with a 3-16 plow but you work the snot out of it with a 4-16. The 4010 was really comfortable with the 4-16 but you worked the snot out of it with a 5-16. I never thought the 730 was bad on any of my PTO implements with one exception. The pto generator. I also have a 400 John Deere grinder. Use it once a week yet. Bought it from the first farmer I worked for. He bought it new and I wouldn't be surprised if at times it wasn't grinding four to five batches a week until he bought a Gehl 135 in the 80s. After that it mixed mostly whole corn and oats for lambs. This guy is a treasure. What a great story.

The only time I see a salesperson is if i go and look at a piece of iron. But my 92-year-old neighbor tells me all of his equipment up to the late 80s was bought because different dealerships would show up at the farm and offer a demo.

Great interview! Sig has a down to earth and friendly nature but I bet in his prime career years he was an extremely shrewd and tough operator. I’m sure you have a list a mile long but some older dealers of Allis, Oliver, JI Case would be fascinating. Maybe an old milk hauler as well.
