hey guys this video I will be sharing my experience with racism and also couple of other peoples encounters aswell! #londontamil #ukstudent #information #fashion #trending #foodie #crypto
The strong statement about 'SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE' is true. I don't know how many people accept this but it portrayed our values in such a way. That's the power of mass media, how many international filmmakers show the real face of the US and UK?
We tamils face racism even in kerala, north india, karnataka. In kerala if u r tamil, malayali hotel waiters dont even come to ur place n take orders. We have to wait for 5-10 mins n then have to call or shout to take orders.
I also kinda faced in Racism recent ah. I live in Germany and went to Spain with my boyfriend for an event. When we returned back, we were asked for an ID in the check in counter. We showed the lady our German residence permit. We are pretty sure that is more than enough to travel within European Union. But the lady demanded for our passports. We told that we have our German ID. The she went like “ you just have German residence permit, but that doesn’t mean that you are a German “. Then we showed her our Indian passport. It was done. Then we boarded the flight and everything was fine. When we got out of the Flight in Frankfurt, there were a couple of police standing and they randomly checked our residence permit. They did not stop even a single white person. Then we went ahead and asked him “ why is it just us being checked ?? You don’t stop anyone else except for us, Is that because of our race and colour?? “ The police guy actually got scared. If we complaint in Germany for Racism, he will definitely get into a trouble. He was like “ No, No - not because of colour , it depends on various other factors, your ID is perfect “. Sometimes I think we need to stand up and speak against them I guess. They all know Indians are way too capable for doing anything. It’s just our kind attitude that makes them feel that they can stand on our head and molaga arachify nu.

A similar thing happened to me in the US. I lived in a place where there were a small amount of Indians and not much awareness about Indian culture. People would call Indians scammers and "poor" despite Indians being the richest ethnic group in the USA. They would also constantly make fun of the Indian "Accent" which I did not even have being raised in the USA. Wherever Indians go, even though we rarely cause trouble, we are still treated so terribly, this will only change when we stand up for ourselves.
I’m in London for 12 years and I found this racism with in Indians . Especially North Indian and south India . They speak in Hindi where I felt my self very lonely and ignored.
@@Nonecares452 Hindi is British made language. Its a mix of Urudu Parsi and some Indian languages. They just created to divide Muslim and Hindu population. Muslims have Urudu and British gave Hindi to hindus.

True that. There are still traces of racism. I’ve in fact experienced something in just 4 hours of landing in London. It is the situation and the people around us that leave a lasting impact on incidents. BTW, great going buddy. Proud alumnus of MDX.
I have faced racism in many places in UK. I am working here in a reputed automotive oem, in my team everyone is racists! Whomever joins our team who is not british, endures a lot! I am girl who have long hair and brown skin, they tease me saying that “there a guiness record breaker who had 6 inch mustach, but i feel like it is uncultured and ugly, what are you waiting for cut your hair!” And also whenever i cross them in a hall they out of sudden start scolding each other with bad words! Whenever I am focused in work, they take pictures of me behind my back… I noticed it 4,5 times! Sometimes when i open Sambar/Dhal box they say it is a smellyfood/ bad food!…. One guy came to me when no one around and said, do you guys prefer lean girls, why don’t you consider loosing some weight, may be you look good after that!
They spot each and every mistake and make politics out of it, and try to throw people out of the project…. Sometimes they act like they don’t hear… and sometimes their face reactions are frowned, when i talk to them… Once they asked me have you got sick recently, i said as it is very cold climate, i am getting fever kind of bcz of chillness, so i am unable to say is it bcz of actual sickness or bcz of climate, they said “then you are in wrong country” then I explained them that it is like freshers flu, as this is my first winter, i feel this way!…. as my stay is for short time, i didn’t want to speak or make big fuss about it!…. They try to suppress voice and opinions sometimes! There are good peoples as well! But even in work organisations people are like that! But my attitude is like nothing will stop me!
I remember once i used, common coffee mugs they have in work place, one guy from my team was literally shouting at another and saying bad words that, how dare to use coffee mugs!

Hi bee 🐝. Actually what you said is absolutely right and also i had each and every situation happen to me when I was in Australia 🦘. Sometimes they used to say for example The fucked up movie what u mentioned SDM . They relate to us . But they are super helpful after understanding us. Bcoz of movies only their thoughts are like this.

discrimination/racism is everywhere so all of sudden anyone can receive in any form :) Mostly with their speech/behavior/vandalism they will try to make you to believe yourself looser or inability person, So what we can do, to avoid this, As Dr.Ambedkar said, the more you face discrimination the more you organize and educate and improve yourself.
I am Tamil girl born in the UK most British people are nice they will always be some that are not so pleasant, I can say racism does exist because my friend from international came her to study and the minute they spotted her accent or cultural difference they question it.She said she did get treated different she did not get enough job support in uni. I have tried to be an active member in uni and talk about cultural diversity and how undervalued coloured people are even if you class yourself a British citizen there are places where racial preferences occur. I mean even me I have been born here and they ask me are you getting an arranged marriage these people don't understand there is a different between forced marriage and an arrangeme marriage, it is ok to ask and learn but not be ignorant to assume. Even at work I was supposed to be but on a training and they promised me after 2 years they would but did not and the white girl got that training so I asked them about it, they made an excuse they will put me on it in the next year which sounded like an excuse so I left that place and decided to go back to uni to study. Best advice or be strong and be prepared to stand up for yourself, it is scary if this is not your country but hopefully your friends will help you to confront them or better to walk away as some people have old mentality or are mentally unstable.
Interesting. I spent 6 summer vacations (2004-2010) during my uni years in London (was doing medicine in Crimea ukraine). Stayed at my friend's place. One guy from my hometown in Malaysia who was a doctor at NHS at that time (graduated from Glasgow university) and a girl my school senior who migrated to the UK right after finishing high school. I personally never experienced any form of racism while I was there. To the contrary I met very friendly people all around.
This happened to me in India as well. I used a variety of apps to practise English speaking. I struggled a lot at first cause I barely spoke English (Beginner). North Indians didn't even consider me as a person & they humiliated me badly. Cause I don't speak Hindi. So I tried not to bring up my location. However they could easily recognised me whenever I said "hallo" or "Hi" cause of my typical SOUTHERN Indian accent. 📌A girl once asked Me Girl: Don't you speak Hindi? Me: No, I don't speak Hindi. I'm from southern part. Girl: Aren't you Indian? You don't speak Hindi with a dominant attitude voice. I was enraged after hearing this. Wtf 😒 📌6 months back, I encountered a guy from north India, He: You Southern people choose to learn English but never going to learn Hindi!? Me: That's none of your business, I can learn any language I want. He's in a dominant position again, like the girl, telling me I should learn Hindi. So, Hindi could become a national language. (Note: He is an Indian soldier. Elder than me. I'm just 21 eff) After speaking with him, I felt very sad :(. After all of the discrimination, I improved my English dramatically. The southern indian accent is gone. People think I'm from abroad or northern India. But I tell them I'm from Tamil Nadu.😎 They now respect me cos of my English fluency and good accent. I still tend to encounter insults and ignorance. While having a conversation in English with vadakkan. I'm not sure why people treat others poorly based on their skin colour, accent, or where they come from. A person, no matter how small, is still a person. Treat others the way you would like to be treated. Finally, Don't let others to treat you badly. Confront them. Thank you for making this video.🙏
Even I too face this racism..when I was travelling in the tram at night around 9 pm group of people came and onboard the tram and around 6 girls and 3 boys ..girls were dressing in very fancy and they sat around me and not able to take my face aside and one of girl who sat infront of me kept her leg on my bag..she might be studying around bachelors and felt really bad and just get down from the tram in next stop immediately. This is the racism I can see almost in all the faces when we travel in public transport. Thanks for raising this issue
U said that India is better now. No there are still slums, poverty, casteism, crime against women and Honour killings, In the global hunger index, India ranks 107th out of 121 countries. In Tamil cinema, they make jokes about dark skin colour. In Tamil Nadu, we criticise north Indians for getting jobs. that also kind of racism even though we lived in the same country.

Racism happens more to indian men honestly, alot of indian men are labelled as misogynistic or creeps by simply looking at someone or something in an innocent way. Thanks for raising a different angle to the issue Akka.
Sorry that it happened to you. I can totally relate that there is plenty of racism here in the UK. But there are some Brits who were really helpful and chilled with me my like family members. But we Indians are to blame. Coz sometimes even here, we discriminate ourselves by treating north indians as vadakans and them calling us madrasis and so on. If we ourselves are not united, how the hell can we expect to be treated well by foreigners?? Like the old saying goes, ' Charity begins at home'. Big fan of your youtube videos. Hi Senti...despite racism...there is supremacy of a race...feeling insecure...it happens in any country...also many bullies are around... I studied in Hull...I visited a friend in Oxford. So, i was in the bus and reading a book...and these teenagers who was sitting in front of me said...I am sure she doesnt understand English...most of them dont...hahaha...then when they saw the book i was holding...they started to feel restless...I can see it from their face... Then when it was time to go home...again I took the bus...and the driver gave me a nasty look... So this was one time i experienced racism or judging or jumping to conclusion or showing supremacy...but most of the time I sort of ignore the locals...I dont speak to them...I dont mingle yet I had few English friends whom I still keep in touch... Its an unfortunate thing to happen to anyone...
Hats off to your video sis. Damn those guys who took slumdog millionaire and Victoria and Abdul. This movie is played in every airline and I get cheap looks from my fellow travellers when I travel. God save us.

The thread is long and strong back here in India the caste factor played a silent and major roll in getting employment, promotions , bonuses name it and its there. It's my experience 10 years ago in an MNC company. I not sure whether it is same today....I believe it should be around...it was there all through my 20 and odd years of service.
The toilet system in India you have mentioned is exactly true. . This is how people are thinking about India . Am a student in Canada from India. I too experienced recently..
This is very true. This country is full of it and depends entirely on who it is too. When we moved to this British area in the east coast of England and a elder women on our first day, was shouting on the street, telling me and my mum to go back to where we came from. She even came to hit me and my mum. Even spat in my mums face. It’s funny because we have lived in the uk for more than 20 years and experienced so much of this from Pakistani people for more than 10 years. And then again from white British old woman. They don’t have much knowledge of other cultures and people so they just talk crap. Small minded people is all I think. All you can do is either teach them or just ignore them. No need to fight and defend because it makes situations worse.
Hey I am in London for a year now and I am from srilanka I literally faced racism in a meat shop. I went inside the shop and said the white guy, brother can I get this meat and he told me don't call me brother I hate that word from your mouth. I said why he told me you know the reason. So what is this. No matter what everywhere racism is there. Chill out
baby..this video chance illa..love you...100% true.Your best video.I keep travelling most of them time due to work. We don't need an outsider to ruin our reputation. Our own movies, media and our behaviour is enough. British Airways playing the slumdog and Victoria Abdul. It's obvious for any other nationality to have such views about us. Keep it going.

All these is part of challenges when you live in foreign land. But when country main or majority faces challenges too - like finding job then you as minority or foreigner faces more challenges then.
I am a Malaysian Indian and I am used to all kinds of racism growing in Malaysia. It's kinda normal for Malaysians 😂 so every time I go abroad, including in India specially when I traveled to North India, I do face racism here often and people often call as "Madrasi" & they make fun, the truth is they don't know that m a Malaysian. I studied with international students & lecturers and I had faced lots of racist issues just because being an Indian. In the beginning I take it personally but now I just ignore it because I love myself, my identity & my indian culture ♥
i am born and lived all my life in mumbai and delhi. believe you me, max racism exists in india within TN only. people in north call you madrasisometimes in jest but there is no discrimination, favoritism or malice in it. its namecalling and thats it. amount of respect and opportunities tamil brahmins get outside TN is much more than TN for instance.

It's true in my native village only in last 10 years only they are building toilets even big houses will not have toilets. India has mixed culture mixed ppl it's not generic nowadays basic needs are fulfilled but still gap is increasing between poor and other classes.

That's not a big deal. It is because their mother tongue is Hindhi and not Tamil , just think about vice versa.

I remember once i used, common coffee mugs they have in work place, one guy from my team was literally shouting at another and saying bad words that, how dare to use coffee mugs!

discrimination/racism is everywhere so all of sudden anyone can receive in any form :) Mostly with their speech/behavior/vandalism they will try to make you to believe yourself looser or inability person,
So what we can do, to avoid this, As Dr.Ambedkar said, the more you face discrimination the more you organize and educate and improve yourself.
📌A girl once asked Me
Girl: Don't you speak Hindi?
Me: No, I don't speak Hindi. I'm from southern part.
Girl: Aren't you Indian? You don't speak Hindi with a dominant attitude voice.
I was enraged after hearing this. Wtf 😒
📌6 months back, I encountered a guy from north India,
He: You Southern people choose to learn English but never going to learn Hindi!?
Her bold voice😍
Even I too face this racism..when I was travelling in the tram at night around 9 pm group of people came and onboard the tram and around 6 girls and 3 boys ..girls were dressing in very fancy and they sat around me and not able to take my face aside and one of girl who sat infront of me kept her leg on my bag..she might be studying around bachelors and felt really bad and just get down from the tram in next stop immediately. This is the racism I can see almost in all the faces when we travel in public transport. Thanks for raising this issue
Hi akka 😍🔥
Lots of love from Jaffna Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 ❤️
