Is it ok to keep cigars sealed in the glass/plastic tubes they come in for long periods? I have a box of the Weller Cohibas and I’ve been waiting to smoke them for my wedding this weekend. I checked the humidity level, and without a Boveda pack the levels were fine at room temp/humidity.
Hey Matt, You always want to keep cigars in a controlled environment, with controlled speaking to the humidity, temperature, and sunlight (or lack thereof). So, the glass or plastic tubes are really only for temporary storage outside of a humidor. It's possible they survive outside a humidor for some time depending on your geographical location, but for extended periods, you definitely want to go for at least a tupperdor (our guide on a DIY tupperdor: bespokeunit.com/cigars/humidors/diy/tupperdors/) to ensure you're protecting your investment.
