ABOUT THIS FILM
____________________
Bonnie & Ozzy
This seasons tawny owls Bonnie & Ozzy raised a bumper brood of four chicks - a large number of chicks for tawny owls in this area - and I helped out by providing extra food for the family.
Tawny owl chicks
Tawny owl chicks are notoriously adventurous and before these four were fully feathered, the owlets began climbing out to the nes and hopping on to the nearest branches.
Mishaps
This can sometimes lead to mishaps - like when the oldest loses its footing in the wind and, after hanging clumsily upside down for a brief moment, lands in a hawthorn bush!
Dangers
This adventurous spirit also means that sometimes they got a little too close to danger. Watch one retreat when two common buzzards appear at the pond beneath their tree nest.
Brief retreats
Normally once a tawny owl has fledged the nest it doesn't' return, but these three often flew back to the nest for brief visits with siblings that had not yet fledged - or to take shelter during rainstorms.
Bonnie & Ozzy
The parents continue to feed the chicks on the nearby branches, and, I also help out. Although, after one chick is knocked flying from the feeding branch by a buzzard and disappears for days, I move the branch to a safer spot near the nest.
Out in the world
It's been an amazing journey watching these tawny owlets grow and credit to Bonnie & Ozzy for doing such an amazing job.

I'm so happy the 4th baby was OK 😭 I love them puff balls!
Tawny owl chicks are so cute - didn't think they could get cuter - but the bedraggled chick looked so so sweet!
The thumbnail is the cutest thing
What a wonderful way to escape the reality of this awful world we currently live in, watching these amazing fabulous birds is pure beauty to me and a way to forget my worries ❤️❤️
I think I could watch videos of baby Tawny owls all day long.
I do like hearing tawny owls and their chicks talking all the time, instead of music. Thank you for these beautiful owl views.
Amazing footage of these stunning birds. Thank you Robert for your channel, I've learned so much about owls and kestrels from you.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I miss Bonnie so, so much! Think we saw her at the feeding post yesterday. Bonnie and her chicks are so, so beautiful~ And Bonnie is such a protective and attentive mom. The timing before and after the chick's movement, how it followed the appearance of buzzards or jackdaws, how Bonnie responded. And also first time seeing them practicing how to hunt. Also how they were at the pond, how the family reunited after the buzzard attack. So heartwarming. All these are so beautiful. Thank you!
So much relief flooded my heart when it turned out the fourth chick was alright! 🥰❤️
I loved how the owlet welcomed the other owlet home. It was so sweet! Made my night! Thank you for another beautiful glimpse into nature.
So glad the fourth chick survived the buzzard attack after all! What a relief that must have been after the hard weather.
Golly! They are so stinkin' cute! I personally think Tawnies are the prettiest owl.
I'm smiling all over! What a joy to see!
I helped a tawny owl a couple of months ago and now Im in love with them forever, they are so intelligent emotional little birds
Glorious!!!!!!!
Relief that the little one survived.♥️
Narrator has got beautiful and espressive speaking voice
Tawny owl chicks are so adorable 🥰
Too much cuteness, thank you for making the world a better place!
Woo! New tawny vid :D Definitely nerve wrecking when that incident happened.. especially when it was a bit tricky to tell if the buzzard grabbed the towlet or just booted it. Not mentioned in vid, but it actually happened twice 😱 (two different days). Was so thrilling when we finally saw all four again together at same time so we can tell for sure they're all ok.
What a delight to see the fourth owlet return! It gave us all quite a fright!
Adorable 🥰
So glad there all ok, heart was in my mouth!! Stay in the nest little ones where your safe!!!
I love how they always keep flapping for balance. And they’re surveying their domain
Thanks for a stunning video! 🪙 I am so happy the owlet hit by the buzzard made it! ❤🤗🙏
Watching this video was really awesome!
💯🌿😊🍃💯
The wisdom of the wise owl's, live long and prosper, seek your destiny.!
My heart sunk when I thought the 4th chick was nowhere to be found. I'm so glad that the chicks were all okay. What a lovely family. May these birds continue to grew stronger
They are absolutely beautiful.
Tawny owl chickens ate my fav!
I love the way the three siblings are curiously staring up at the older one ❤️
the video footage allows us to see all the nuances in their behaviour and reactions to everything they experience. It was so apparent the 2 littler chicks looking up in awe at sibling at entrance and even Bonnie's loving attention to the missing 4th chick when it returned. Just so special to witness
My goodness they are delightful to see. Great that the 4th chick was OK ❤
Hi, Robert! Amazing video, I'm very glad to see them ok, and flying around!! Thank you for this beautiful moment!!

Beautiful touching & tense video ending happily & warming! Thank you for capturing the cute but pertinent details and especially the happy ending. You’re the BEST! ❤
The way they flap their wings after the fourth chicken reappears, it's like the reunion at the end of a children's movie, when the child reunites with their family.
Gorgeous babies, can't wait to see the full video!
Me too
Thank you Robert! I have always wanted to be a bird. Your videos allow me to take flight! Much appreciated!

What a story ! Astonishing😀
Thanks so much for letting me see Bonnie and the four owlets fledge. It brings me such pure joy to see such beauty. I am so grateful for your work. The photography the videos the paintings and your ❤ for them so shines through. Loved seeing the longer video clip. Thanks so much.
Well donoe! The suspense of having lost that chick and then after three days to see it restored is a great storyline and editing. Good job!
So happy at the surprise ending.
Just amazing! What a privilege & joy to see the owls. Thank you 🙏
Go, cuatro (4) fledglings!
I also wish to express much appreciation for REF's tonally low-key videos: REF's voice & bearing, the way the videos are composed & edited, and the selections of music (which blend in perfectly, not jarringly or overbearingly).
The wildlife & natural habitats which REF observes & explores, respectively, are intrinsically perfect. IMHO, there is no need for exaggerated production "values," which only detract from the pure wonder, beauty & fascination of the wild kingdom.
Whereas the overwhelming majority of other channels' videos, or other media broadcasts/programs, are loud & pumped up with excessive sounds & visual effects. I consider such productions to be disrespectful of the wild fauna, their habitats & more sensitive viewers. I choose not to watch most of those.
Indeed, I don't watch animal videos to be mindlessly entertained, but to genuinely appreciate, respect, joy in & learn from what I'm watching. I love the quiet of the ride -- even when the content itself may be tumultuous.
So, thank-you, REF -- many, many times over -- for the choices you make. You & your team are not only incredibly prolific, but your channel is beautifully, distinctly, delightfully rewarding.
Your channel is truly stellar. And unique. Thank you for your authenticity, integrity & passion for the natural world.
Clearly, the silence of your creative process, as a painter, Mr Fuller, is a perfect match for the wild outdoors & its many (wild) residents. And, obviously, vice versa.
I've no doubt that your channel will explode with over a million subscribers soon enough. I just pray that you keep things as they are, going forward: low-key, genuine & honorable to the wildlife which inspires you.
Gorgeous englih countryside
I've been watching your videos for a long time and I have to say, they are incredible. Your cam setups and your personal attention to your subjects really do capture the natural lives of what God has blessed us with. On a side note.... I share your love of Canon cams & glass as much as you! Most excellent captures, young man!
Oops, my bad! Just looked at your site. I ASSumed you were using Canon gear! Ah, age is catching up with me!
