The tribal vibe Chad had me jamming out. It fits so well. Not knowing the original song I was let down how the vibe/groove was on the actual song. Chad's version just simply got me grooving.
I love that he just listens for 20 or 30secs, then starts blastin'!! LOL As someone said elsewhere "Drummers on a first listen will employ Active Listening.... Chad Smith employs Active Drumming"!! I'm no fan of BMTH these days, but Smith's tribal toms thing on this sounds great tbh- much more interesting than the sparse original to my ear. :)
Chad Smith made me like and sub plus you not stopping video in places that are annoying or break up the song in the wrong place, appreciate it LUV FROM ZA

ngl, i liked Chad's version a bit better. though, a slight more reserved than i would've liked. though, tbf, i've never been a huge fan of BMtH , and thought the original drums sounded a bit anemic.

"He is just keeping to the Toms" "Hopefully he will open that up" Feeling the need to open up is your first mistake. Trying to over complicate everything will only end up in the song becoming a mess. So many metal Drummers make this mistake. Keep it simple and keep it clean. Sure you can throw a bit of flair in there....But keep it for the Drum Solo.
Not to shit on BMTH, but Chad's take on the song just makes the original drums sound lazy or overlooked. They definitely weren't a priority on the track.
I often like the Drumeo 'first time hearing' playthroughs more than the originals, but totally unimpressed with this, didn't bother listening to the song structure, ruined the song as a result, and was so 'humble' he couldn't even listen to the original drums properly afterwards, just played his own thing over the top. Should've got Dirk Verbeuren back again (or anyone else who has appreciation for the work others have done) instead of this arrogant *****. Sorry, he wound me up, rant over!
eh, maybe a _little_ harsh. but i did see what you were talking about. thing is, Chad always struck me as being a little socially awkward , maybe a bit 'tism-y. he also occasionally has a bit of a weird fuddy-duddy vibe to him sometimes. so, within that, he came off as being right on-brand (so to speak). iow, i wouldn't say "disrespectful" ; but more just "eccentric". YMMV.
What did you think of this play-through?
The tribal kinda drums, fits perfect in the verses. But idk, for the chorus i think i would prefer some variation
Well it shat on the original.

❤️❤️
Same here. I've never heard the song and I thought Chad had a better drum part.
@@daCubanaqt the original song does not have a tribal vibe to it at all.
Chad listening to the original: “that’s cool and all… but did you hear mine?”
❤️

To be honest I love them both
Remix!!!! Have the original start, then a Chad solo to end it all… I would pay good money for that.

It’s chads style.
Have to look at it as drummers have their own styles in doing things

@@comicaiadventures Gen X actually, if you're going for a pathetic dig at least get your facts straight
True, how dare he incorporate his style over the song
