My last game featured a Glamour Bard that my friend was playing. He was doing a David Bowie-esque thing. He had all these different characters/incarnations of himself and he explained that it was different fey spirits inhabiting him. It was actually quite fun.
Volk551 I had a homebrew Half Cloud Giant once, and she was fabulous. But she was a trickster cleric... making her a David Bowie esque Glam Bard sounds so much better.
It would be very cool. particularly if your DM allows you to use Queen songs. That would be awesome. shame Freddy don't fit the group i'm working with. Tom Jones is more their speed
I love college of glamour! I play a half-faerie (technically half-elf: biological father was an eladrin from the feywild): Cindy d’Arcadia. She really is our campaigns rock star (main inspirations was a mix of Courtney Love, Cyndi Lauper and Björk), but she is also a really bratty teenager. Every spell I choose from magical secrets I try to be as fae as possible; her Spirit Guardians are little faeries that are devoted ”roadies”, her Find Greater Steed is a fae Pegasus with butterfly wings. She has thousands of fans all over the continent but she still struggles with a questionable self-image, and the chaotic pull from her faerie blood is sometimes too strong leading her to do mischief and get into trouble. She kinda both acts as the groups diplomat and damsel in distress as her fabulousness draws the attention of less savoury elements. Oh, and an evil fae-prince wants to kidnapp/marry her. So she is basically a mixture of Princess Peach and Jem? I can’t wait till level 14 so she can go all out magical girl with Tensers Transformation through magical secrets! I have never ever had so much fun playing any character as I do with Cindy. I highly recommend college of glamour; your party will not have a dull moment!!
They are fleshing out the Feywild. Mike Mearls said something along those lines in a podcast. It's probably the next big thing after Chult. So fey-related classes make sense.
Based on what was in the UA, my friend rightfully pointed out that by adding Battle Master Fighter, you could turn the Glamour Bard into Griffith from Berserk.

As you're always looking out for feedback and stuff to put out to Unearthed Arcana testing, I'd really love to here your thoughts on a solution to the 'Trickery Domain' Cleric issue. What we do is:- 1) Give the Cleric a Bonus proficiency in either SoH, Stealth or Deception 2) Allow them to add their Wisdom Bonus to their AC if they are wearing no armour (like the Barbarian and Constitution). 3) Allow blessings of the Trickster to effect any 'nefarious' skill check. The problem with the Domain has been that it's not very thematic for a Trickery Cleric to walk around in full plate, but for the Cleric to Contribute to the Group he needs to be able to get in there and take some hits, and dexterity is often the 'Dump' stat for Clerics. These changes mean while he will never be as tough as a Hill Dwarf Life Cleric (who is?), Trickster Clerics can remain thematic while still also being able to get into the front lines sometimes, and stays in flavour as enemies 'just can't seem to hit him!' These changes allow the players to finally play 'Locke Lamora'! Or maybe they want to play a Ghost wise hafling who has wandered into human lands and just causes chaos where ever he goes, or a Tiefling Gangster who wants revenge on the world for how it treats him. This also means you can run 'gangster' campaigns, players taking the role of a city thieves gang with a Cleric included who doesn't suck! Anyway just some thoughts. Would love to hear what you think as imo this really helps solve the Trickster Cleric problem without overshadowing other classes or taking the role away from other Clerics. Mny thks
I hope the other Bard College that is added to this book is the College of Swords. It was a very cool idea that just needed some small tweaks to be great.
Glamour with Magnificent Mansion and Animal Shapes. Hold a concert in your specialized venue, get everyone in town charmed OR plan for combat, then Animal Shapes the entire town into a stampede to wipe out the opposing army in minutes.
Who else when watching this thought of an evil bard from this college then immediately pictured Pink Floyd's The Wall? The rally scenes from that movie are definitely what I'm going to think about when I think evil bard from now on.
There should be a College Of Yells or Screams where the Bard's voice is so powerful uttering a single word via action does Thunder damage to everyone within the vicinity kind of like The Greybeards from Skyrim or Black Bolt from Marvel. It would make for great roleplaying.
I made an Aasimar bard-cleric of sune with this bard college for dragon heist. To add flavor, whenever I wanted to cast Otto's irresistible dance, my character would do the Axl Rose snake dance for the somatic part.
While listening to this I couldn't help but think of emperor Nero walking around the imperial gardens playing a lyre and all his attendants raving about amazing he is so as to not fall under his ire.
makes a lot of sense for my character, since my race (Michtim) hail from the feywild. my current character is a Glamour Bard, not a musician, but a scholar of nature and fey magics. and he's unbelievably cute. (I made a good adaption of my Michtim race for 5e, you can find it on dndbeyond and drivethrurpg for free).
Well, sounds pretty fun but i think so far i'm really looking forward to circle of dreams druid, cavalier and inquisitive the most. I'll admit at first i saw 25 new subclasses and UA stuff and was kinda worried but this sounds awesome ill probably preorder it as we get closer to the release date.
the idea i had that fits perfectly for this was a tiefling bard who lived in a city that was partially hidden in the feywild - went exploring and found her way to the court of an eladrin city, playing for the nobles there etc, till she was found in bed with someone she shouldnt have been and got run out of town
Multiclass Sorcerer and grab twin and quicken spell. Spit rhymes so fast and hard they take psychic damage and disadvantage cuz they don't know what to think.
This kind of sounds like how I've been playing my entertainer mystic. There should probably be a college that harkens back to first edition as having athleticism, cunning, research ability, and druidic scholarship. A scholar of the woods perhaps?

Kinowolf what I was thinking was my character was whisked away to the feywild by a hag as an infant and raised by her. I'm planning on tweaking the hag a bit and instead of her being angry and bitter and wicked 24/7 she's more or less misunderstood and an outcast among the hags of the feywild. One of her traits, which I find hysterical, is that she gets really weapy a lot.
My Glamour Bard was part of a troupe that tried to run a con on a young noblewoman who turned out to be a hag in disguise. She kidnapped him and took him to the Feywild and made him her slave to pay off his debt to her. After an undetermined number of years (Not sure how many years have passed, he just knows that the city has greatly changed since the last time he was there) she has sent him back and allowed him to join a guild where he gets offered contracts to do shady missions with his new companions. Although he is not sure, he suspects that she is using him to infiltrate the guild. Still waiting for the other shoe to drop on that one.
I played this bard and was not strong or tough or smart. Essentially, in combat all he did was sit back talkin shizz and getting people to fight for him. Even the feats were skill-based. He became severely OP at higher levels.... just not at combat. Extremely fun to play.
Probably Lore among the officially available ones so far. Otherwise? Definitely College of Satire. It's pretty much tailor made for jesters. Google "College of Satire UA" and you should find a PDF document called "Unearthed Arcana: Kits of Old".
While many are saying satire, and it does make sense, I would like to introduce the swords collage it has that entertainer feel - and it could make sense for a swords to be at a royal court but it has abilities for combat, anyway you chose which one you like.
Although not transgendered, I once made a drag queen Bard with the College of Glamour for a one-shot. He was a feminine-looking Half-Elf Male who could pass as a Human Female when in drag. It was quite fun.

WOTC also brought in Patrick Rothfuss as a writing advisor or something, so the pieces are definitely falling into place for a Feywild adventure.
Horizon Walker seems more planar than just Feywild, tied more to the Astral Plane than anything. At least that's how I understood it.
