What Kelly and Roger says around 1:41:20 is so right, I moved to Japan over 3 years ago and it's been a real learning curve with Japanese. But skateboarding is what opened Japan up for me, when I started going to the local park I started to make friends, true genuine friends purely through our mutual love of skating and moving through this world in the most rad way we can imagine. Over time my Japanese improved immensely. I now have a small friendship group, a community of skaters and we just get it, and it's wonderful. We often skate Saturdays and Sundays, and hang out, eat together and generally skateboarding opened up Japan for me. My Japanese still has a long way to go, but it's improved immensely; but the one thing we all understood from the start was our love of skateboarding.

Chris, in BMX the trick doesn't count as landed until you're going forward again. It's not very difficult to stay in the fakie longer, but generally its considered kind of wack, unless you're doing another trick out.

I'm surprised the Dolores Hillbomb hasn't been a sponsored event yet in this day and age. With Red Bull or Monster and their down hill races and adrenaline events. They could definitely make the Dolores Hillbomb a legal event by getting permits, making people sign waivers(that's the only way they'd get involved) , closing off the side streets and then just letting people do what they always while probably having commentators lol
Rodney seems to ask everything as a question even if he’s making a statement. I don’t know if it’s because he wants you to question what he’s saying or if he’s questioning what he’s saying; but he’s usually right.
Not trying to troll anyone but if you do get Rodney on the show it might not be a bad idea to put Kelley back on the button system. I can only imagine some of the nonsense Kelley would blurt out.
It's interesting to be mad at the teenagers tagging and bombing hills and shutting down blocks (remember how Pablo got killed) especially when you grew up doing that but the nine club doesn't comment on the rampant alcoholism, drug abuse, bullying, sexual abuse that is also common with skateboarding... but a whole segment to talk about 60 kids getting arrested for skateboarding or taking back the streets.
also to Roger's point, they do this every year without a permit. Also in what world is SF accepting to give out permits for an event this big without police or medics? Additionally, the SWAT team presence is over time. They don't assemble in 10 minutes. It takes at least a shift change, if not a whole day to assemble that many certified SWAT members to show up in one location. SFPD did not wait for things to "go wrong", they planned to shut this down. That's what Roger was trying to hint at.
