    Would you make some consoles for sale? If not, where can I find the dimensions to build my own?
    Thanks for the great content, keep them coming!

    Boat starting to come together! Watched my step-dad do some of these processes many times but he had done that stuff for most of his life. You guys look like pros! Can't wait until "season 2" of the fishing starts!

    Hi, I was wondering if you saved the mold?? I'm thinking about building a similar Boston Whaler, Currently I am living in North Carolina on trawler. At the end of the month, I will be moving up to Connecticut and selling my trawler. I'm looking for something smaller as I am partially disable to fish on the Connecticut River in season. Wonder if you would consider building another console or sell the mold? I think a fifteen might just be the right size boat that I can handle myself!

      I sold the mold to FasseCo. He restores Whalers and is located in TN. Checkout his website FasseCo.com

      I’m very busy with other projects. I have the Mould and have thought about selling it.

    For the 3 coats of duratech primer, thats all you put in the mold for it to polish up like that? Or did you put a layer or gelcoat onto the Duratech Primer? I'm doing the same thing except for a montauk console and was curious if it was the primer that polished up. Did you put any PVA or wax in the mold prior to spraying the gelcoat in the mold? Also, what is the tip size on your HVLP gun and did you thin the primer at all?

      @spinfish1434 Před 3 lety +3

      We used 3 coats of Duratec and polished it. Duratec is very similar to a Gelcoat. Yes, we waxed it, (can't remember if we did thin it, I don't think so) before spraying Gelcoat. We used a standard paint gun, I don't know the size of the tip however I suggest you test spray first.

    Great work! May I ask the dimensions of the console, can’t seem to find them.

    • @spinfish1434
      @spinfish1434 Před 3 lety +1

      The measurements are on Whalercentral.com try using the search function, type in Striper side console. I can measure it later when I get to the boat if you can find the measurements.

      @@spinfish1434 ok great, thank you

      The measurements on Whalercentral have pictures attached and that makes it a lot easier to understand. The box has a angle from the bottom front up to the top, there’s also a larger rounded corner on the back (where your knees would be) If you look closely you can see what I’m talking about. It’s 20”H and 24”W… The width at the top is 12”. If you’re going to build a Mould use the large popsicle sticks to apply your filler in the seams, you’ll get a much more straight application. Hope this helps.
