  • ✅Want to Design/Make Tattoos Stencils and NOT break the Bank? I know I was confused when I went searching for an iPad to design tattoos and make stencils with. I was also a little shocked by the prices attached to these tablets. So I did some research and found there are ways around over spending for things you may not need. I was able to find a 6th Gen iPad for 200 dollars and when you add in the pencil and procreate I was all in for $310. While this tablet wasn't the biggest or the greatest on the market it did what I needed it to do for years, and still does. So if your on a budget and looking into iPad I hope this helps.

Been using the iPad pro, procreate, and an Epson ecotank inkjet printer for stencils for several years now. Don't think I could ever go back to anything else. It's just too convenient. One tip I'll add for your subscribers that use direct printing from the iPad to an inkjet printer is to duplicate your stencil layer and merge it on top of itself. Gives you fuller lines on your stencils when you print. 👌

I didn't have the money to get an iPad & I like to try & work with what I have so I was using an old Samsung tablet with a couple apps & it worked, a little. Then we got our 15 year old son the new Samsung 20 or whatever its called for his birthday (yes, I don't have the money for an iPad, but WE have the money to get our son a $1,400 phone!) .. & instead of trading in his old phone, I kept it. Its magical! Its a Samsung Galaxy Note9, comes with an S-pen & I downloaded Sketchbook, Adobe Capture & Picsart. I mostly use sketchbook but AC & picsart are great for making outlines of any picture. It took some practice & I'm still learning what the different apps do as I go. I know it's not as good as iPad with Procreate, but for now it definitely works!

@@brunogp8269 thank you, I'll check it out. Yeah the 3 apps have some good stuff you can do with them. I recently figured out how to outline a picture for a stencil with Sketchbook by importing the image, then enlarging it to 200% to outline one area, moving it to another area as long as you enlarge each area to the same percent each time, when you delete the original image, you'll have your outline.

Very good info given. Just one thing on 03:44 ,the amount of layers you can work with, depends on the RAM, not the storage itself. For example, an Ipad with 4GB ram will give you more layers on a 4000x4000 canvas, than an iPad with only 3GBs of RAM. Hope you understand, my english is too rusty. Again, good video, thank you.

Yeah that is because it thinks you are trying to select the color on the screen. There should be a way to turn this off for your pencil. I know I had to do something similar to this a few years ago. I hope others see this and can help you out better then I can.

@@ArtSomething Do you think that using the name brand pencil will help?

@@rainbowrider9224 yes I think it will make a big difference and certainly worth the investment.

Oops I just looked the tab is for sizing, not color. I have had it jump color on me, but not since I switched to a passive stylus. I've had a much better experience with the passive mesh-style instead of an active tip.

If you have Verizon, you can finance an iPad for 0% interest for 25 - 40 a month on your phone bill. It will have data and insurance.

True you still would need a printer however I would assume one would have a printer if they where tattooing? But I guess thats not wise to assume anything.
