@@peteromikus433 No. I listen to a wide variety of music. This is how I know Mayer is kind of average. Pretty good guitar player, but his voice is not particularly notable, and the song writing is just ok.
John's closing album tracks have always been special. Especially St.Patrick's Day, Wheel & A Face To Call Home. He just knows how to complete a body of work. Same goes with this song.
Agreed! Especially about how he closes most of his music. His outros are so unique. One of the most talented musicians to ever live.

I used to feel John Mayer wasn’t that good ,I look back and think “what the hell was I thinking” now I almost feel like I know him ,like he’s a friend ,once you start to really pay attention to his music and watch his interviews and seeing how he talks to people and his fans ,you start to feel like he’s an old friend for some reason ,John is the reason I started playing guitar and I couldn’t be more thankful because playing guitar has saved my life and helped with my depression. Really grateful 🎸🙏🏻

John, i grew up hearing your songs and most of them are similar episodes of my life, i have to say thank you because your music changed my life.

His music has been there in all the memories.. I look back and am so glad I fell in love with his music early.. Growing up with him as an artist has been amazing, hearing all the changes in his sound and progressing into one of the worlds best musicians. So much great music.

Been listening to John Mayer’s music since room for squares back in 2001-2002 and especially with heavier things and continuum, also remember listening to battle studies on the way to high school (that album came out my senior year). Few years later and I was having a hard time in life, lots of sorrow and misery. Man…born and raised was my bread and butter I put on almost every night I’d go sit out on my porch and look at the stars. Paradise valley coming like not even a year later felt like the sequel to born and raised. Some 4-5 years later I came back to Mayer’s music again with the search for everything and loved that album too, but that was in 2018 when I rediscovered his music again (had a few years of depression when I stopped listening to music…) and then just a couple years later he drops sob rock.
Now just two weeks ago I finally saw him live for the first time when he came to my city. My wife and I’s song is ‘A Face To Call Home’ and he played a good bit of born and raised at the end of the concert, I was ecstatic. Such a down to earth guy and he can be quite funny between songs 😅
I just hope he comes to a place of peace in his life because he’s in his mid-40’s and still not settled down. Remember in dear Marie he said “yeah I got that dream, but it looks like you got away from me.” “Yeah I got that dream but you got yourself a family.” This is tragic, no? He seems like a very down to earth guy and especially so after meeting him live. But I think he needs to drop his playboy ways, seek God, and find a woman out of the spotlight..kinda like Dave Chappelle. Just get out of LA John…

Great ending to a beautifully crafted album. In my opinion, this album is John's most put together album so far. It just flows so effortlessly from start to finish. There is so much depth in this album. Definitely my favorite.
Listening to this just brings me back to my past and I'm wishing it stills exists now, I've listen to almost all of your songs I'm only 17 but I still feel like I've grown up listening to you, I'm now a very good singer but I'm looking forward and having hope for myself that I can become the next you. Thank you for your music and inspiration John and hope I get to here your new music.

John is such a unique artist. All of his songs are so personal and he doesn't give in to the general consensus of rising artists who convert to what the pop listeners like to hear. I love to see a great talented artist like John stay true to himself, keep it up!

I think he means life feels long in our eyes but in the grand scheme of things it’s no time at all. The line “you’ll get forever but nobody at all” refers to to the fact that we’ll get quite a while with our loved ones then eventually end up with no one.

True unconditional love is the 'staying' kind. It requires serious commitment which most people don't want to make a sacrifice to have. To me, it's the only kind you can call love. Everything else is a wannabe, therefore short term. When storms arise, it blows away, and 'doesn't last very long,' as John says in his song. Gives real love a bum rap, because it isn't❣❣❣
