dunno if you'll see this but here's an idea: it'd be cool if you censored the first clear section during the intros, since lately it's been spoiling if you managed to clear the level or not before even playing the level, censoring that would leave in a bit of surprise
Retroactive intros give away whether he cleared it or not.

Not only are these levels not uncleared. DGR has the world record on them already.

Many times in the past, people in chat were trying to clear the levels before DGR. He stopped showing them the level ID during the streams because of that. He just records it for CZcams after the fact now.
@@lucbrisson2 Yep, I've seen more than a few streams where someone stole the first clear from him. This is a good way to handle it.

Yep. You can blame stream snipers for Dave taking these measures when he works on the uncleared series. Best to watch his streams live if you don't want to see the edited-in stage info after he nets the first clear.

@@theempressrotsinthesunit isn't a rerun, it's a condensed, edited format video from a live stream. Some people can't make the streams so this is how many people get to consume them.

I don't have Mario Maker myself so can someone explain why the levels have one clear and a world record by DGR_Dave before he starts them?
I think he does the intro after he completes the level, I have noticed this on a few videos where it shows he already has the world record for a level while doing the intro

When he showed even just the level name to stream, stream snipers were trying to steal the first clears. DGR is all for getting levels off the uncleared board but the snipers were just trying to ruin the stream.

That last level got me thinking. Was it a good attempt to make a bad troll level or was it a bad attempt to make a good troll level? Either way, the content was gold, it deserves a heart.
I don’t really like the retroactive intros/spoilers. I understand the sniping danger - DGR/Chris please just show the level description afterward. Thanks for another great video.

Sung this before: just because you are streaming does not entitle you to the first clear. Publicly accessible game for anyone to play at anytime. If it's such a problem, don't do this series on stream

Those were deemed impossible to ever complete, and so are no longer considered a part of the "uncleared" pool.

It's because Chris is editing in the retroactive introduction for the YT video. They do this because of stream snipers. As I understand it, Dave blocks off at least the level name and ID while streaming so snipers cannot easily find the level he's playing to steal the first clear from him.

What we saw was a retroactive intro after he did the clear, and Chris edits those into the appropriate spot for the CZcams video. They do this to prevent stream snipers from stealing the first clear before Dave can get it. It's been a problem for them for literally months, so while live Dave will, to my knowledge, block off ALL level information that could be used to determine what level he's playing (level name and ID at the least) to prevent the snipes.

EDIT - At the end it says first clear. Guess he lost this footage and needed to remake it or some trickery is going on.

@@negan7722 I haven't used the (unofficial) level search engine but even if you have the names of the level and of the level maker, it's probably better to use the level code directly (the code with numbers and letters like (randomly typed) GHX 451 FRY (most likely messed up the actual code format but you understand what I mean lol)), and that level code is only present outside of the level in its description, not in the pause menu. There's probably ways to stream snipe him, but for example there's lots of "99% impossible" levels: if you just crudely search for the one Dave's playing, Dave will probably have finished the level before you have, even if you still find the level. Or at least that's my opinion idk
@@negan7722 - Yes, it is to stop stream snipers from stealing the first clears. Pausing is a risk, yes, but often those pauses are happening late enough that would-be snipers likely won't have the time to find the level and beat it before Dave does.
