    Starfield was already ruled out, Spencer already spoke about that rumor with mention of "smaller titles" might go to other platforms and not the Big titles

      Fair enough. I must've missed that. Thanks for the catch.

      True, but that is subject to change. Given how well the company performs overall.
      If say Microsoft ends up taking massive financial losses from developing consoles and their console sales aren’t doing well eventually they could potentially drop out of the market and then essentially become more of a publisher with having their acquired game developers to make games for both PC and PlayStation.
      Afterall, recent articles and data points to this. PlayStation is absolutely killing it compared to Microsoft. And this has been the case since the PS4.

    Time limited exclusivity seems to be the best middle ground between the consumer, the elitists, and the companies.

  • @luca-draws

    Exclusives make sense as they provide a reason for the brand to keep their hardware setup going.
    To me, that's a fair price to admission and I gotta say, Playstation's model of releasing first party games after a couple years seems very reasonable and fair to me.
    Everybody wins in the end.

    • @Shweelan
      @Shweelan  Před 5 měsíci +1

      100% agree. Permanent exclusivity benefits basically nobody, and Sony's seemingly struck the perfect balance of justifying the existence of their consoles whilst also benefiting the consumer by having their exclusives move to other platforms at a later date.

    I already bought Ghost of Tsushima on PS5, it's one of my favorite games of all time! I have no problem buying it again on PC, in fact I really want to! I've been dying to play it on my Steam Deck! I really want PlayStation to port their older PS3 and PS2 library on PC, especially PS3 considering how difficult it is to emulate those games!

      Tsushima would look absolutely gorgeous on the steam deck OLED. I can't wait to give it a shot myself.

  • @danny_dan92
    @danny_dan92 Před 5 měsíci

    I agree. I played the game on PS4 and PS5. I’m getting it on my PC, considering I’m assuming many of the PlayStation players have more than likely moved onto other games given how long the game has been out on the PlayStation platform. Is silly. We played it on PlayStation years ago, we enjoyed it. Let other people play it. Not to mention PC is a neutral platform.
    Not to mention we’ve already received several PS5 exclusives that are still currently exclusive, including Spider man 2.
    Lastly, I was once a “fan boy” and the separation amongst gamers with there separate platforms only drive us apart and creates more hatred in the world, without going too deep in that rabbit hole, the world is saturated with hate now. So bringing people together is better overall.

    I think timed exclusives are fine as long as the ports aren’t downgrades, and are fairly priced.
    Sony and Microsoft should start making a bunch of MCC style collections of their older games and put them on newer consoles/pc. If Xbox made a Gears of War collection it would print money. Remastered collections/enhanced ports of Sony’s “Halo Killers” (we all know the only thing that could kill Halo was itself) Killzone and Resistance would probably also sell well, and they could see if there’s any demand for sequels. That way those games could be preserved and made available for newer people.

    • @Shweelan
      @Shweelan  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Sony has an immense list of IPs that made them household names from the PS2-3 era they've seemingly become allergic to touching in any capacity outside of a handful like Ratchet and Clank or Uncharted. Jak and Daxter, Killzone, Resistance, Infamous, Red Faction, just to name a handful, are all pretty much dead in the water doing absolutely nothing but gathering dust in an IP library or getting the occasional low-effort remaster. I've been asking for Infamous to make a comeback since the middle of the PS4 era after how much of a disappointment Second Son was, and that's been a waste of breath for almost an entire decade.

    • @shreksnow1918
      @shreksnow1918 Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yeah. It is really unfortunate that they haven’t done anything else with a lot of the franchises they own (Microsoft does the same with a lot of things they own, and whenever they bring them back they’ll almost always find a way to fumble it).
      We know from the Insomniac leaks that nothing Resistance is down the pipeline (should’ve seen this coming because the sales were never great, and there was a 4th game pitched that was cancelled because Sony said it would’ve been too similar to Last of Us), there’s only ONE Ratchet and Clank game slated for the future, Sunset Overdrive 2 won’t happen, and now they’re in the Marvel sweatshop kind of like how Activision sent a lot of their studios to the CoD mines (CoD games used to be really good with a lot of passion behind them). Guerrilla Games is currently occupied with Horizon and if the rumors are true then they’ll be remastering Zero Dawn (wouldn’t be shocked by that because Sony has Naughty Dog “remaster”. A game that’s only 3-4 years old and still looks graphically impressive. The ”remaster” has barely noticeable graphical enhancements, the framerate is still caped at 30, and the new content is stuff other games include as a free update or fairly priced dlc).
      At the very least they should have some of their other studios port their older games to pc and PS4-5. That would be far cheeper than making entirely new entries.

    Even though the chances of us getting a Dino Crisis remake are about as close to zero as you can get without it actually being zero do you think you’d consider making a video talking about what your ideal Dino Crisis remake would be in terms of the story and gameplay like you did with Dead Space 3? Such a shame that won’t happen due to poor sales and modern games have an INSANE budget (they seriously NEED to stop spending so much on graphics and whatever else is taking up so much money). If yes, maybe you could do the same for Parasite Eve and other obscure/forgotten horror games that would benefit from remakes that sadly won’t happen.

    • @Shweelan
      @Shweelan  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Probably not, unfortunately. I'm not a fan of either Dino Crisis or Parasite Eve, so I don't feel like it's my place to talk about what needs to be fixed in hypothetical remakes.

    • @shreksnow1918
      @shreksnow1918 Před 5 měsíci +1

      Makes sense. If there’s other games you like that you want to be given the remake treatment you should do videos on those. Thanks for responding.

      People get a little bit too attached to brands/corporations, unfortunately. Make them a bit too much of their identity instead of keeping them as a hobby.
