- Mexico City is HUGE! In fact, it’s bigger than New York City! Often abbreviated as CDMX, Mexico City is divided into 16 districts. Because of its size, there are so many things to see and do and it can be a bit overwhelming when planning a trip.
To help you with your plans, I’ve compiled a list of my top 10 things to do in the city! These are in no specific order and there’s way more to do than what I’m listing here, but this is a good starting point. Besides, I’ve added some extras within each “thing” to do, so there’s really quite a bit more!

I just returned from my 4th trip to Mexico City and this pretty much nailed some of the best things to do and see. The only things I would add are Plaza Garibaldi for the mariachi, Xochimilco for the nature and Arena Mexico for the luchadores. 😁
Nice, glad you're loving Mexico City, there's so much do to here, and eat. Yes, for sure those are great things to add to the list, thanks!
Where did you get your hotel? I plan on visiting
@@itsdre601 I stay in the same Airbnb in Roma Norte every time I go.
@@richdlaw ok thanks
@@richdlaw One more question how far is Roma Morte is from the airport .

I just love Mexico City, there is so much to do, went for 10 days, not enough time to see everything, I will go back sometime
You need a long time to see even half the great attractions, restaurants, neighborhoods there in Mexico City. Glad you love it too!

Just went to the mercado San Juan and tried crocodile tacos with some scorpions 🦂. Thanks for the video! Really informative.
Cool, glad you went there, how did they taste?
Hi there, from Ouray, Colorado! We just arrived to Mexico City on Exploration Trip #2 to look for a spot to part time expat. Our first trip was 2 months ago to Mazatlan. We really liked it there, except for the heat/humidity. Granted, we will stay in the winter and it isn't too bad then. But, I would like a place that works year round in the event we stay in the summer or mire full time.
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing your tips! I have added the ones that weren't already on our list.
Safe travels!
Mexico City is a great year round place to stay, the weather is the best. I can't take the heat at the beaches or hot cities in the summer. Thanks for watching!
@@ToddsMexico Hi there! We, sadly, just returned to our house in CO after visiting Mexico City. We absolutely loved it!
As always, we thought we generally would be targeting Centro for the places that we visit as we like to do stuff. In Mazatlan, we liked Centro. I'd have to say that we didn't care for it as much in Mexico City .....for living. Partly, we just didn't get the vibe, for whatever reason. I'd assume because it is the heart of this great, mega city; so there probably is a factor of big city hurries. My disclaimer is that we did really like it and I'd foresee taking the metro to Centro frequently.
We did also go visit the popular areas for gringos such as Roma, Condesa, and Polanco. We liked all of those areas with regards to stuff to do spread all over in a nice area. But, we didn't prefer the higher American/Canadian populations.
Our favorite spot was over in Coyoacan! We visited there twice during the week. I guess the key thing during our visit there was my wife saying "I could see living here; I think this is what I'm looking for". Previously, after our Mazatlan visit, she did not have that feeling.
My only regret was there are so many areas we did not get to see within the week.
We totally dug the weather in Mexico City!! My guess is the bulk of our searching will now stay mostly up in the central highlands of the country. The weather was awesome during this week's visit!
We are looking for an area that has access to stuff to do (cafe/restaurants/drinking), can walk to stuff to do, access to live music, culture/museums, and the ability to get to know our neighbors. We tend not to be folks that want to be surrounded by americans/canadians.
So...as our plan previously was, we'll still plan to visit Oaxaca in February or March.
Safe travels!!
@@campingalan I'm glad you had fun, come back soon!
You have some great shots! I have to check out Mercado San Juan!
Thanks a lot! Yes, definitely try some of the weird foods there!
I wish you could list all these things in your description
Oh yeah, I should do that, I'll try to do that soon
the bug eating segment is gold, great video
Thanks a lot 👍
When was this video taken?
Late in 2019 mostly, some clips possibly early 2019 or 2018, and maybe a few in Jan 2020
Thanks todd im.going to Mexico in jan 2021 are you of Mexican ethnicity?
That's great, you'll have such a fun time. I'm actually Japanese but born in the US.
I'm in Mexico City now, and will be here for 2 months, is that enough time to see all of the city?
Not all of the city but a good amount, check out my TikToks or CZcams shorts for a bunch of great restaurant recommendations!
Also can you tell us where that taco cart was in the Roma neighborhood?
It's on the corner of Colima and Merida, last time I walked by it was closed, not sure if they changed hours or what's going on.
Hola! What Mercado did you get your gummy skulls?
Oh man, I can't remember, but they have them all most mercados, not sure if it's all year, or just around Dia de Muertos
Nice, next time actually write the names of the places it would help 👍
good suggestion!
How safe is it?
Like any big city, good and bad areas. But I don't worry as much as I do anywhere In the US
😮
Thanks for watching!
I'm going to Guanajuato, Guadalajara, La Paz, or Mexico City in the next 4 or 5 days. I haven't set my flight yet. I'm not married anymore so I don't want the romantic GF sight seeing. I want to eat, explore, drink, and enjoy the nightlife. My Spanish is limited. Where should I go??? Other places not mentioned that are better? I need to book flights in next day or so. Also, what part of city should I stay and name of hotel. It'd be best for me to be able to be in decent hotel and walk down street to bars, food, etc. Tijuana is 10min from my house, been going since I was 5yr old and has been 4 decades, and I go 5 days a week. I'm wanting a change of scenery and dive I to the markets, restaurants, etc... thanks in advance...
If you want to eat, come to Mexico City. Condesa or Roma Norte would be the closest walking distance to nightlife and restaurants. On the main strip in Roma Norte, The Four Points or Stanza are really close to the action. If you want to stay in a cheaper place, on the border of Condesa and Roma Norte, the Roosevelt is ok, nothing right by it, but everything is a 10-15 minute walk in both Roma and Condesa.
@@ToddsMexico I'm used to Tijuana and use that as a gauge. In TJ, a 15-20min walk down the wrong blocks, which is really close to the main strip and action, could end you in a situation (robbed, shot, and/or kidnapped). Is MX city the same way? Meaning, walking 20min to that central nightlife area you spoke of, at 2am-3am, could cost you your life? So you have to literally get the hotel on the strip where you can walk freely as there will be a large public and police presence?
From the street where the Four Points is, you can walk 20-30 minutes in 3 directions and be fine usually, but bad things happen after 2am everywhere. Best to Uber if it's late, no matter where you are. Even in the best neighborhoods, you have to watch out late at night.
I really like the editing of this video at 735 views your very underrated I can't believe a gaming video that I made that was terrible got more views than this :(
Thanks, yeah sucks CZcams doesn't promote most of my videos 😢
💪💪🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮
Thanks for watching!
Tourists are the only ones that eat those bugs 😂
Locals eat the chapulines regularly, but I don't think the scorpions or cucarachas usually.
🤑
Thanks for watching!
ta bien raro ver gente sin cubrebocas :c
si, extraño los tiempos pre pandemia cuando hice este video
Why would I want to go to an affluent neighborhood & pay for expensive food??? In what universe???
Some of the food is good 🤷
@@ToddsMexico We get great food without spending our retirement savings.
I will make sure I watch this one , is our plan 03/2022/ sorry video not good , Brenda Catalan does much better, MX has 1000 things to do more class, not tacos and greasy food, is cosmopolitan capital
Very cool, hope you find some good suggestions!
