Buying a guitar today you need to keep the sales receipt and make copies. If ever you resell it with an online site now the IRS sends you a tax bill on the amount you sold it for. If you can prove you paid (example) $2,000.00 for a guitar you sold for $2,500.00 they can only tax you on the $500.00 profit, less the sellers fee paid to the online company it sold through. Otherwise they will tax you for $2500.00 less sales fees.

I also have the 61 reissue in aged cherry. Far and away my favorite guitar. I was skeptical of the pickups but I’m never taking them out. Not too hot, clear and no overly boomy like you described in the video.

I have the 2023 SG Standard '61 reissue in the dark Aged Cherry color that looks almost black, and I'm loving it too. One of the best guitars I ever played.🙂

Man, I made a post about how great your 30 blues lick lesson from TrueFire is and now it disappeared. All the guys thinking about it, I say go for it, I usually don’t like online courses, they make me want to rage quit because they’re so frustrating. Your course didn’t do that. Anyway, thanks for putting it out there, it helped me break away from licks I’ve been playing for years. Best lesson purchase I made since taking in person lessons as a kid over twenty years ago.

This is EXACTLY the 61 SG I am saving up for. I was leaning towards the CME black and gold SG Modern because I love the gold hardware but the Modern just has too much crammed into one guitar and it does not have a pick guard. This AMS SG is PERFECT. The 61 SG's are the PERFECT classic rock guitars.

You have to check his "acoustic cross over lesson" to know how good a teacher he is.I didn't see it in working class guitar but in truefire.Must buy for all late intermediate and even advance player. Thanks Corey.

Basically anything lots of people think is “collectible”… isn’t. It people are buying them and keeping them then they won’t be worth much in the future because everyone kept them. New Gibson’s hold value well. But trying to guess what’s going to go up in 30 years is a fools errand.
Nobody thought Gibson’s failed experiment with the burst finish in 58-60 would be worth anything.

Super demo. I have a '21 SG Standard '61 that is killer. Mine is 6.7 pounds of great tone. I'm pleasantly surprised that I've had zero desire to change the stock Burstbucker '61 pickups. I'm typically not into A5 magnets for humbuckers. These are wonderful, however. Simply adjusted 'em and off I went. In my 40 + years of playing, these current USA Gibsons are some of their best yet. I also play a 5.8 Lbs. '20 SG Junior ('61 spec) that's amazing too. Play mine through a JMP 2204 or a baby DSL 5 combo. 🤘Cheers! 🍻

Merry Christmas Cory : ) I bought a 2004 Les Paul Standard Limited edition run 1 / 275 numbered. Mine is #154 in flame cherry red. It sounds great and plays a little different than my other four Les Paul's. I have two Customs and one 69 Standard Gold Top (original issue) I like them all. That SG sounds awesome bro. Have a nice Holiday and keep on keepin' on. Peace Los Angeles

If it wasn’t a flat wide slim taper and was a round neck I would snag it but I cant do slim taper. I don’t know who actually likes flat wide necks, why would you prefer that over a round neck you can grip your hand around? Otherwise I really love the look and tone, but that neck would kill me. So thats why I play bat guards.. My 335 has about the same neck specs as a bat guard, about .87-.88 at the 1st fret.A nice piece of wood to grab hold of.

    Are EXCLUSIVE Gibson Guitars Collectible?

They are only worth what someone is willing to pay.

I find Gibson USA to be far more consistent than Mexican fenders. I’ve played way more good CV squires that “player plus” fenders. I’m saying this as a huge Fender fanboy too. Probably played over a hundred “player plus” strats over the past year, trying to find a good one. I wasn’t able to, they all had an issue of some sort I could t get over.
One of them being the Pau Ferro fretboard and horrid fretwork. Granted the CV squires also have Pau Ferro fretboards but they aren’t 1000 bucks. I love rosewood so much I ended up with a CS Strat with a solid rosewood neck. That was a huge digression and I apologize.
Anyway, during the same one year time period the gibsons I’ve played have all been completely acceptable, save for one SG that was just too neckdive-y to be comfortable. Gibsons lower end offerings, the “Tribute” Les Paul’s are a fantastic value and I can’t recommend them enough.
