I served in Iraq with the 1st battalion 87th Infantry regiment 10th Mountain division. I can tell you with firsthand experience that our interpreters were true Patriots of their country. And I would go back to hell with them. This story made me so damn happy for this true American. Welcome home brother!

Aziz’ story is the true American story. He’s not American just because he was born here. He’s American because he chose to be. He chose freedom. He chose democracy. And he fought for it. Not just for himself, but for his family and for everyone else. I’m proud to have him in our family now. Welcome to Texas, Aziz.

I had the honor of meeting both of these amazing men: the focus and flippable switch from seemingly complete ease to intensity were expected. Their incredible kindness and intentionality were not. In a world that advertises millions of "idols," "icons," "influencers," and "role models" that universally disappoint, Chad and Aziz are men genuinely worthy of looking up to as men who are dangerous and under control, accomplished and refuse to settle for the apparently possible, and of deep character that doesn't compromise.

This is one of the best human stories I've seen on this channel, and there's many very good ones. Aziz will be an excellent American, as will his six children. Every Western country that fought in Afghanistan had some excellent interpreters working with them. Guys like Aziz stuck their necks out to defend our soldiers over and over again. It would have been a very rough job. It made them huge targets for the Taliban and insurgent types of all sorts. They were effectively marked for death if the Taliban took the country back. And the Taliban took the country back. Chad Robicheaux's efforts in getting Aziz out of Afghanistan at such a tumultuous time are to be truly commended. That would have been really, really difficult. I'm so glad they were all able to make it happen. Aziz and his family are safe, thanks to some very grateful and resourceful people. God bless you all. From an appreciative Australian.
I have no doubt that people like Aziz will make the best kind of American.

Chad didn’t mention this, and I’m sure neither he nor Glenn would even care about the publicity, but a large reason why they were able to raise such a vast sum of money in such a short time frame was that Chad & Mighty Oaks had partnered with Glenn Beck and his Nazarene Fund. Both men were pounding the halls of Congress, the military, traveling to and from the UAE, and other places as well to get thousands of people evacuated.
    They did great things.

This reminds me of my brother-in-law, Johnny, and his interpreter. Johnny served 4 tours in Afghanistan. After he got home he lost his battle with PTSD and shot himself. After his death, Johnny’s mom continued the work to get his interpreter and his family to the US. It took several years, but thankfully we got his interpreter and his family here in early 2020.
The fact we left those in Afghanistan who bled for us is a disgrace. I’m ashamed of what we failed to do.

1/6 checking in, damn it brings tears to me that we couldn’t do this at the time I was in fallujah for Nemo and Sam! I never knew if they made it back but I was there when Nemo came back from early leave because his whole family had been killed at his house. Sam’s family was supposedly been killed the same way before we got there. They were our interpreters and great men that stood in many firefights and telling us where to eat sleep and go sit in op’s etc.
