Lou had that something special with his voice. Others were fabulous but Lou had that extra it. Just one of the best performances and music. Great to be alive....I rocked in the 80's. Thanks
Saw them in 77 Day on the Green #2 at Oakland Stadium May 28th. Eagles, Steve Miller, Heart, Atlanta Rhythm Section and Foreigner. I was 15, my first rock concert. It was so much fun, that I made It a favorite pastime. I've been to over 100 shows since then. 10 or 12 Day on the Greens, these guys 4 times. You name the hard rock band, I've seen them. Life is good. I'm going to see G3 Satriani, Vai, Johnson next month. My third G3 concert. Rock on! 🎸🎤
Cant believe that anyone going to a Foreigner concert today actually believes they are seeing Foreigner. This was and always will be Foreigner no exceptions anything else is simply a tribute band.
Unfortunately all the bands we grew up on age, and its either replace members as best they can or not tour at all. I agree its basically a cover band now, but at least we can still close our eyes at a live concert and pretend its them again.
I seen Lou Gramm solo with his band around 16 years ago, he was Aaaaaamaaazzzzzing- i found my way to the front of the stage i felt like a 15 year old all i could do was stare at him he was so good I Didn't and Don't care about his weight i though he was beautiful, handsome and a voice of an angel they handed me a pic i carry it w me in my purse ti this day!! I will NEVER pay to see Foreigner without Lou Gramm "He Is Foreigner" 💞💞💞
I wanted to see them perform DAY ON THE GREEN 1977 but couldn't go, pretty bummed. Went to DAY ON THE GREEN 1981 August. But I got to see them play late 90s COLUMBIA GORGE Washington. Best concert I had ever seen . That is when I discovered the tensions between Mick and Lou.
In relationship to the comment made below which states "Lou had that something special with his voice. Others were fabulous but Lou had that extra it. Just one of the best performances and music. Great to be alive....I rocked in the 80's. Thanks" The something is called a gift from God the very magical nuancical elements that give him that signature tone that can't be replicated. Additionally its the same attributes that make cetera, steve perry, brad delph irreplaceable in their genre. You have to have a trained ear to really note the deltas in the quality. With Brad if you listen to him the way his voice modulates upward and downward on a phrase combined with the timber of the voice, the organic nuances that are emitted from their deep soul experience is something that cannot be replace along with a crisp edge on their voice and a most key element is the annunciations on their phrasing. If you listen microscopically its all revealed on why their is distinctive gaps between the lead singers now who replaced them. Yes they hit the notes and replicate some of the timber but let me tell you there is a lot more differences they can't replicate. Louie had an edge on his voice with the timber you just can't replicate so he becomes the voice of foreigner as cetera is the voice of chicago.
I saw them during their Agent Provocateur tour. When the gospel choir emerged on I Want to Know What Love Is, it was the greatest concert moment that I’ve ever experienced.
They were derided as "corporate rock" back in the day but I think they crackle with the punk energy of the era...like punks who actually write songs and play their instruments, with one foot in the new synth decade to come - ha! no sell outs in Foreigner, these guys genuinely rocked millions of people all over the world. Lou Gramm is a heart attack heart throb with the face of an angel and voice of a beguiling bullwhip.
Starrider is on another level, absolute knockout. Lou transcends earth, by sight & sound. This whole concert, on repeat views, out of this world. Nobody else can accomplish what they have.
Any soldiers stationed in Germany in around 1981 maybe remember The 4th Golde summer night concert in Nuremberg featuring.... Kansas, Foreigner,, Blue Oyster cult, Iron Maiden, 38 Special and a british band called More
Foreigner at their peak/prime. Saw them in Cincinnati's Riverfront Coliseum on this tour with Billy Squier opening. What a night! Both bands were at their peak and at the top of the charts. Lou Gramm is one of rock's most energetic and greatest frontmen. PERIOD!
Many thanx , for upload and share this !!! With me and with the younger generations !!! And the older generations , who can remember and can see this again . THANK YOU ! ! !
And they are not already in the Hall of Fame because ... ? Forget 'why aren't they nominated', they should just plain be in like Boston and Styx should.

Honestly the best live vocals that I've seen Lou do. He was always great on the first two or three songs, but then he would start to run out of steam and not sing as good as the recorded versions midway through the concert. He had perfect vocals all the way through on this one. I wish that I could have seen this concert in person.
Wow, I saw these guys in Frankfort, Germany in 1981 while stationed there in the 3rd Armored Division. This is the first time I’ve seen this. Does anyone know where this was filmed?
While Lou is giving it 99.9% here, he's probably choosing not to hit those highest "breaking" notes that are on the studio version's chorus - either out of range or too "risky" to hit them live. Pretty common with challenging songs. I remember, as a kid, wondering why Freddie Mercury would not sing that "...cause WEEEE are the champions" live as it was on the record.
LOU GRAM WAS THE ORIGINAL SINGER OF THE BAND..THE BEST VOICE ..AND ONE OF THE BEST VOICE IN HISTORY OF ROCK...LOU LOST HIS VOICE DUE COKE MARIHUANA AND LICOR...SAD BUT TRUE
The only thing that sucks about this concert is that a handful of their best songs have yet to be written. And by the time they were written Lou didn't quite sing this incredible.
"Waiting for a Girl" could have been sung better and just sing the damn song like the album, and let it flow better, instead of the typical Live show inflections, and Bullshit substitutions to the Album sound...GEEZ !!!
This is probably the best live version of "waiting", it's absolutely beautiful. I'm sorry that you can't hear that. For me, this is one of the best live recordings of a concert ever.
Came here to get my Lou Graham live fix, anybody else?! 🤯🙌🎶🔥🔥🔥💯
Saw Foreigner and Styx last night. came here for Dennis and Lou fix 😆
Lou Gramm-Absolutely spectacular voice!
What a great show! Nothing like 1980s rock.
Great times!!
Lou had that something special with his voice. Others were fabulous but Lou had that extra it. Just one of the best performances and music. Great to be alive....I rocked in the 80's. Thanks
all these old concerts i wasn't able to go to when i was young... so cool seeing them...
Lou Gramm was an absolute flamethrower!
His voice was insane

Lou Gramms voice was awesome....no difference from the albums; no faking it....that's for sure. Great show!
When Lou hit the high notes on Star rider, his whole forehead turned white. It was insane.
Lou's intensity singing Urgent is awesome!
Saw them back in 78 at Kansas City what a great show with Bob Seger at Summer Jam
The whole band was on fire! Lou was incredible! Foreigner Rocks!
Robin Zander, Steve Perry, Lou grams n even Diamond Dave freaking untouchable American rock vocalists never to be repeated n awesome decade for music

I went to a foreigner concert without lou gramm like on 2002 it sucked
Yeah. I’d rather just not see the replacement bands. Would rather just remember them the way they were
They are FAKE foreigner cover band!

@lindadianesmithls Lou is definitely Foreigner, same as Steve Perry is only way I'd watch Journey.🎸

Lou gave it his all every night! Today's "stars" couldn't hold any of those older rockers microphone! No singers today have soul or grit!

I saw them again after 15 years or so, Lou Gramm had to breath out of an O2 tank between songs, great band!!! 1980 best rock ever!
Starrider is on another level, absolute knockout. Lou transcends earth, by sight & sound. This whole concert, on repeat views, out of this world. Nobody else can accomplish what they have.
Damn, this band so awesome... Lou incredible 🙏 unbelievable voice...
Lou's voice is special
Just like steve perry from journey
Foreigner with the Best vocal singer. Lou greatest❤

Shall i retype all the computer stole? Many sincere thanx for inviting me. Ashtray there. Vino there. Bring holy spirits xox
I have always loved Lou’s powerhouse vocals. I also must admit how it struck me what an underrated guitarist Mick was when I saw them live in ‘86.
Holy moly. This jukebox hero live that Lou gram sings, doesn’t sound like a song. It sounds better. More like a story unfolding.
Luanne is such a great song that they still played it at some '85 shows.
Many thanx , for upload and share this !!!
With me and with the younger generations !!!
And the older generations , who can remember
and can see this again . THANK YOU ! ! !
saw them twice in NYC.....Double Vision tour & Head Games tour

Went to see a reunion of the old and new band recently, so great to get to see the original lineup together again...

One of their best shows Lou graham is an absolute beast of a front man and singer...
Agreed. By 1985 though his voice was in decline.

Not a huge fan, wasn't expecting much, but that was far better than I thought it would be.
Then why were you watching it if you wasn't a fan ?
He’s easy a top singer of all time. Insanely underrated… why didn’t you expect much? Lol
@@MrHardrock9 He's a fan, just not a huge one. Like me. And like him, I'm impressed so far.

Saw them and Queen in 85. Gramm had better range than Mercury.
I believe it.

Thank you for your service.
Filmed in Dortmund 81!
I was at the show in Wurzburg in 1981. My father was stationed at Leighton barracks. 3rd ID headquarters.

Hello Dream Sentinel Entertainment, do you know what the line-up was for this concert and the complete set list ?
Natural frontman superpower like
Bon Scott..
The American equivalent..
Lou Gramm
I LOVE LOU GRAHAN.
Rock hard or not @ all

Why do they change "waiting for a girl like you". !?.. He doesn't sing it like the album version

Actually, his voice was best in the 90s. He was clean by then,...
Lou is the better version of Robert plant
I think so too.😊
