I really like the flx 10 and it looks amazing however i am really happy with my ddj 1000 and the small feature upgrades the new controller gives are not reasonable enough for me to buy it. Four decks are four decks that is all what matters 🤙🏼

If you have a DDJ-1000 I honestly don't see any big reason to upgrade. The stems feature on RB are sub-par to say at least with the competition (although this is a software issue not hardware), and, this personal taste, but I prefer much much more the jogwheels and the all illuminated key pads on the 1000 vs the flx10.

    • @medlish
      @medlish Před rokem

Upgrade, no. RB stems are sub-par atm, true, but you can always go to serato and I'm sure RB will improve their stems with time. You can also just map the stem buttons on the DDJ-1000, you can even map them on the 400. It's more about having the dedicated buttons.
Personally I wouldn't upgrade from the 1000, but if you are looking to upgrade from a 2ch or an "entry level" 4ch, this is definitely worth looking at.

Great vid. I pre-ordered the FLX-10, but there’s some things I absolutely hate about it, and am not looking forward to:
    1. Jog surrounds - don’t like the new style, makes them look cheap as opposed to the 1000’s.
    2. No click on tempo slider - why? No need for them to take it out, going to be a pain in the arse now to not flick it by accident and reset tempo.
    3. Wish the hot cues were fully lit, not partially.

I left Traktor and my 4-Trak as it was glitchy the second I got it. I had been on Traktor for so long. Getting the DDJ1000 "forced" me to check out rekordbox and besides one little difference, I've loved it. I think delaying the SRT was huge in my decision at that time. I always was weary of the "norm" as Serato was the norm. Perhaps, this will allow me to try both! Anyway, I'm most excited, beyond the stems, the DMX ability. @Steven Shearer I also think friend... because let's be honest... DDJ1000, there is no better device... not even the XDJ-XZ which is an incredible piece of equipment, it gets to be as good as the 1000, even if the XZ doesn't depend on a notebook, but For me, without a doubt, the 1000 has always been and always will be my consumer dream, too bad the prices in Brazil are very high due to the amount of taxes...

Steam separation is not that great in Rekordbox and can be easily made in the DDJ1000. Great side by side hardware review!
I own the DDJ-1000 and the RB-DMX1 and I still ordered this within an hour of it releasing.
The biggest selling point for me was the instant doubles for stems, allowing me granular control of the stems on channels 3/4. That, along with per-stem FX, and it was an instant buy.
People will complain about the quality of the stems, but not only was it an intentional decision by Pioneer to make the stems lower quality to allow more systems to be able to handle them, the quality is hardly noticeable when you are mid-mix.
Overall, this was an easy buy and will be the flagship for the next half-decade.

I just don't feel the draw to upgrade from my DDJ-1000SRT. I love Serato, but the new features on the FLX-10 for stems just isn't going to work. And why didn't Pioneer separate out the bassline/rhythm part/stem when everyone else has? Seems like a missed opportunity, imo. The only thing I see that I'd love to have is the stem/cue. But I have a feeling that's going to happen for me either way in the near future. 100%, not even going to consider selling my SRT for an upgrade. To me, it's just not worth the $1600 price tag (especially since I'm not a RB fan) and I'm certain the price of the DDJ-1000s are about to drop significantly and you still, for the most part, get the same features.

    Couple questions here.
The build. Is it made of plastic and feel cheap? Or does it feel like quality like actually cdjs 2000 nx2 and a djm 900 nx2?
How's the jog wheel feel? Similar to the 1000s? Better?

I have tryed the ddj1000 and the cdj2000s with 900nsx2. I can tell the difference in the mixer, knobs are not as good, the jog wheel is not too different but actually is not as heavy as the cdjs. To have the same experience as the cdj better to go with the ddj xz, I was surprise when I touch it feels like cdjs 2000 with 900nsx2 mixer. Anyway going back to the flx10. The knows and the job wheel looks same as the ddj1000. So I guess is gonna be the same, better than any other small jog wheel and mixer but not as good as the ddj xz or actual cdjs and proper mixer.

Back ordered by Pioneer, anyone selling used wanted ridiculous prices for a used piece of equipment and not under warranty. So I held off! I'm glad I did.
The ddj 1000 I heard was the closest controller to the flagship club standard set up aka cdj 2000 nx2 and djm 900 nx2. That being said. Is the 1000 cheap feel and plastic or did it feel well built and crafted? I guess my point is for the extra few hundred dollars for thr flx 10 vs the ddj1000 are you paying solely for the few extra features?
      DMX output for lighting
      USB C connectivity
4 sensor crossfader now vs 2
      Rekordbox stems
      Mix link technology
Compatible with both RB and Serato
      Etc etc etc

I think the FLX10 is genius by pioneer, people will buy it to use serato stems which are 'better' realise they cant use it due to processing power of their existing laptop, but instead of going and buying a new £1K laptop macbook air M1 onwards, they will just switch to rekordbox, and it just works... then when they use rekordbox and realise library management is awesome, FX are killer by comparison with Pad effects too, they will transition over fully. Has everyone missed this point? if the FLX10 was only serato, then this would not be marketable indirectly. and the fact it has DMX too, well, its the nail in the coffin for serato, with £8 per month soundswitch subscriptions, and additional hardware.
