So, what do you do when the weather report is rain, wind and cold temperatures (in the middle of summer!)... well, you pack your bags & go down the coast of course!
We had one full day so we packed it all in. Even though my knees of cheese weren't too happy... we saw so much in the Otways. Come with us on our weekend based around Apollo Bay and see all the amazing wildlife that popped up on our journey from rainforests, waterfalls to the rugged coast!

There was a bit of video experimentation with some new settings on my G9 for this video (we're trying to learn more & be a bit more creative). Some worked (which you will see) and some didn't (obviously not in the video!). But the highlight was filming the Olive Whistler in very dark light in the rainforest (and it turned out great!). Birds in summer are always a little less frequent so we're not getting as many photos lately but instead capturing more behaviour of the wildlife with video. Nimal is more handheld for photos & I'm always on the tripod looking for video. I think it ends up working out quite well 😀 Great team work!

Absolutely beautiful! You've crammed so much into this video, I suppose it just shows of the endless diversity of nature in Australia. The moments you've captured with the little olive whistler was one of my favourites, but I can's forget about the koala mama and her baby and all the other beauties. + the fern world around the waterfall was just fairytalelike. Thanks for sharing all this and capturing it so beautifully.

I have just finished watching your Otways Trip video, lovely. After watching your Serendip video, a few of us went there last Wednesday. I got my first sighting and photo of a Crested Shrike-tit, so I was over the moon. It just flew into a dead tree for a few seconds then took off! Two of us got shots, the other three were not happy!
Awesome!! Those Crested Shrike-tits are fast & hard to photograph!! We didn't get any shots either so I know how it feels to miss out! 😀 I hope you had some nice weather at Serendip. It's a lovely place

Hi Guys the setup weighs in at 2.5kg that's a lot lighter than my 1DXII and 500mm f4, would send a couple of pics your way but cant do that on here. cheers Brian@@naturephotographychallenge
