Yazdani deserved this match from start to finish. Geduev's tacticts: Fingers in the face, two-handed head snap (since when is that part of the sport?) and stalling. And then his coach challenging in the middle of Yazdani's takedown... Much restpect to Yazdani, what a machine.

What exactly was the coach trying to challenge during a take down?? Im confused what his argument was?? He knew that Yazdani was going to score, and he thought he can stop the match with a challenge...?Also this ref was definitely payed and was trying to give the win to Russia. But Yazdani beat the ref and his opponent. What a warrior!! He will go down in history as one of the best in the world. I truly admire how humble he is and how much sportsmanship he has toward opponents. Bigger hearts win championships, and the one that's more hungry for the medal.

@Robert Cella I'm a fan of Geduev but he lost fair and square here and nothing to do with being bandaged. Also, the Iranian stayed away from his head which was chivalrous, others may well have exploited it. Geduev gassed easily in that tournament as well, he seemed to lack stamina. Credit to him though for getting a silver medal.

Yazdani won this match against Geduev, the refs and the judges by himself. There were several times in which the ref stopped the match in the middle of Yazdani's takedowns and attacks. Even most of the Russian fandom were accepting that Yazdani had so much patience with the ref and his decisions. Example: min: 3:27 (2 points robbed from Yazdani). And the most funny thing was the Russian coach trying to stop the match at the end asking for a challenge when he saw that Yazdani was winning the last 2 points...😂😂 Imagine being Yazdani and having to see how your rival is getting saved by the ref when you are taking him down and how he lays down and takes a rest mid match.

Yazdani was the victor and made an impressive comeback, but props to Geduev for putting on a great match and battling through the final with such an injury. Remember everyone it takes two to wrestle. Geduev and Yazdanicharati have rightfully earned their place in the Final. Both men are champions in my eyes 🇺🇸🤝🇷🇺 🇺🇸🤝🇮🇷

But this is completely different with the Iranian athletes especially, among wrestlers. Wrestling is an ancient sport that goes back Thousands!! The foundation of traditional wrestling in Iran is based on respect, morality and humbleness. That's why the true Iranian champions, wrestlers ... do not take advantage of the injured or wounded parts of their opponents. Respect plays a great role in Iranian wrestling and some other sports.

Americans have better stamina and body power and conditioning. The proof is that now you can see JB can not wrestle the same way he used to wrestle three or four years ago because his wrestling style was built on his body power, which has become weaker during the years. He still can outscore his normal opponents easily with his doubles, but against those intelligent Dagestanis, it's a tougher challenge indeed.
