Actually, the song was indeed about Brian himself, who wrote it about his past. Before he was married to his current wife (Current in this case meaning his wife he had during the time he wrote this), he was already married to another woman before, but would later grow fond of said current wife. So he was in love with two women at the same time. The only thing about this song that comes close to being about Freddie is the music video. Sorry if that seemed confusing.

It takes a sacrifice of three for one--and there has to be abundant talent between them. I guess we could use Bieber in the practice attempts to resurrect Bjork (yes I know she isn't dead yet--she is practice fodder). And since the talent has to be equivalent, in the Bjork run we can also use Yoko Ono and a Kardashian.
He's cremated and only Mary knows where he is. If she ever tells us where he is (which she probably won't since Freddie wanted it kept a secret) I would guess doing that with ashes would be pretty hard.

It is March 2019 and embarassed, this is the first time I have heard this song. I have just watched the Bohemian Rhapsody movie and now I am craving for more Queen music.
Cheerie Magalit popular radio (in the US) did not play the songs from the Made in Heaven album. I’ve been a Queen fan since the mid 70s and didn’t hear this until I saw Bohemian Rhapsody and found Queen post-1982. It’s a shame it was buried but so glad it’s being rediscovered.

To all the people speaking about Freddy Mercury being a great songwriter. That's absoluteley true, but as far as I'm informed, this song was written by Brian May and not by Freddy Mercury. Just saying... :-)
yes it was written by Brian, but it was about Freddie.
Actually, the song was indeed about Brian himself, who wrote it about his past. Before he was married to his current wife (Current in this case meaning his wife he had during the time he wrote this), he was already married to another woman before, but would later grow fond of said current wife. So he was in love with two women at the same time. The only thing about this song that comes close to being about Freddie is the music video.
