How to Draw Eyes

- This tutorial gives you a basic look at the shapes and anatomy needed for drawing realistic eyes. Make sure to watch my other tutorials on facial features!
In this video, I am using a Prismacolor Ebony drafting pencil, but you can use any kind of pencil - plain old HB pencils work great! Try to stay within the HB-2B range for general sketching. Too hard of a graphite (the higher the H, the harder the graphite) is really light and can indent the paper easily if you press too hard. The higher the B, the softer the graphite, which will create darker marks!

This drawing is very [good] but i made a mess its too hardd i agree i cant even make a perfect circle i tried to copy but its hard i cant even sharpen my pencil HAHAHAA oh yea u dont use da pencil u use da Prismacolor Ebony pencil soo ya i failed horriblly i really want to learn how to draw!
Remember guys, she have been drawing this kind of styled eyes for probably years, if it's your first time, don't let yourself down, it'll only hurt your progress

I'm a horrible drawer but with this tutorial I drew so well! I love this and I will for sure come back to it. By far the best eye tutorial I've found.
Plain&Cynical I'm the opposite actually, it's a *very* unusual but affective method for most. This doesn't help me becuase I have been drawing for so long my own personal method can give the same result, but I'm just used to my way :)

I found your teaching style super-effective. You are able to show a clear picture of what you're doing while explaining concisely. More than that, you seem to approach the eye differently than other instructors I've seen. In such a way that the tear duct falls into place automatically. That has been the bane of my existence for awhile now. Today I drew along with you and noticed I had drawn a tear duct without planning to. I also followed along on your nose video with fantastic results. The lip video is more challenging. Thank you so much. I'm hoping you continue to teach.

i’m not the greatest artist but i actually managed to draw this pretty much the same as her! her explaining was perfect, as was her pace, and the circle method was super helpful! i definitely recommend this if you’re just a beginner. great video !!

I have a question and please dont tell me its stupid i already know it is but do all artist know how to draw "everything"? Like faces plants but cant draw animals... something like that because i can draw somethings but at faces or face features thats where i cant draw
There are a lot of things that I struggle with drawing! That's completely normal to be comfortable or skilled at drawing certain things, but not others. It's really a matter of practice. You have to challenge yourself to work on things that are difficult, and that is what makes you grow and develop as an artist. Hope that helps!

No some artist can be good at faces but not good at animals and vice versa. Also, that wasn't a stupid question, cause I think that's all what we think at first when watching a art tutorial or artist.

Hey I just started art and I suck I just wanted to know how many try's it took you to draw the eye. Personally I couldn't do any of it, but it was a good lesson for amateurs not beginners. (Im a beginner) also you are really good at art. Btw what store do you buy the art supplies at?? 😀
I've always loved drawing people, so I think it was really years of practicing and refining as I was growing up. I didn't have art class to teach me, or CZcams, so it was just looking at things and trying to figure out how to do it... It definitely didn't happen right away!
As for art supplies, I usually buy them through a local art store, dickblick.com, or Michaels.

What paper and pencil are you using?
+Darren Asmoro Plain drawing paper (nothing fancy) and a Prismacolor Ebony pencil. However, you don't need anything fancy. A regular HB pencil works just fine!
