    It's great to have Anita home. Airport delays are the last thing you need, especially at that time of night.

    Nice to see you doing a video, Anita. Oh those hugs when you left your grand daughters 🤗 I also think Palma airport is an unorganised maze now.

      The electronic system is due to come in in October, finger prints, photographs as well as passport checks.

    What an awful experience, it really puts me off flying. Come on Palma airport get your act together, I think more staff are needed. Well welcome back. Thanks Steve and Anita.

    Loved when you told Luna she did a great job “darling“ with your roller bag. I thought of Joanna Lumley’s character Patsy from AbFab right away. Ha ha Welcome home Anita.

    It doesn't matter which airport you go to the issue is ALWAYS passport control every single time. When we returned to the Uk a week ago from Mahon in Minorca they had to start picking people out of the line going to Bristol or they would have missed the flight.

      It is so much simpler flying to other parts of Europe where there are no passport controls.

    Good video. This airport is really startimg to put me off going to Mm ajorca now. every year it seems there is some issue. I doubt they will sort it out, otherwhse they would have done so by now. All it needs is planning. They know how many flights they have coming its not rocket science.

    we were very lucky when we came through airport begin of may very short wait, they could do with more security gates open to speed things up

  • @ellcor
    @ellcor Před měsícem +1

    The delays are not very good. Although the gates are "automatic self serve", staff are still required because an awful lot of people don't know how to use them or follow the instructions so they get stuck and the staff have to do it for them. Staff cost money, hence the lack of them (and closed gates) at certain times. Unfortunately the UK voted to leave the EU so passports have to be checked. Even before Brexit, passports were checked at Palma albeit just given a glance.

      @SteveandAnitainMallorca  Před měsícem

      The UK didn't join the Schengen area, even when they were in the EU. The passport stamping should stop in October, when the whole system becomes electronic.

    An hour and fifteen minutes through passport control? We normally sail through. Is there any reason for this? We are flying next Wednesday on an early flight 😊

    How awful Anita that was a long time to queue at passport control I'm visiting Mallorca at end of the month do EU passport holders go through the same area

    • @SteveandAnitainMallorca
      @SteveandAnitainMallorca  Před měsícem +1

      If you are flying from a non-Schengen country, you will have to go through passport control.

    The EU and UK need to sit down and sort out a visa waiver scheme so that people don't have to go through all this stupid rigmarol for tourists travelling either way. Madness. Time the UK pulled itself back towards the EU.

    • @SteveandAnitainMallorca
      @SteveandAnitainMallorca  Před měsícem

      People seem to have forgotten that before Spain was in the EU travellers from the UK had to fill in landing cards on the plane before they arrived. Brexit has brought back the border controls and more!
