The pilot who let his kids fly the pilot would have to fight me in the afterlife
Same man like who in their right mind lets kids fly a plane and thinks it won’t end horribly
@LuniettaMcKay It would have been fine if they were being properly supervised. Was Pilot error for sure, but it didn't have to happen this way.
😂😂
😂😅HA!!!
I just want to know, genuine curiosity, if everyone died how do they know the kids flew the plane?
The aeroflot disaster was so sad, a guy with no control over his pride took the lives of 75 people.
And even his very own.
Such a sad outcome.
But how does he know that the guy annoyed the other pilot? Is there a recording of them talking to each other?
@TriViuM2k22 how did they know about the guy trying to grab the door handle while in a vertical climb? I agree everyone is dead.
@@TriViuM2k22there's black box footage of it I believe
@@TriViuM2k22Yes, there are those things called black boxes. One records all sounds in the cockpit and the other records all functions of the airplane systems.
That first story is TERRIFYING. Like what the hell? How could someone be so irresponsible? This is a plane containing real people. How can you let your kids just play around like that? Now him and other innocent people paid the price for HIS own actions.
Short answer: Russian
Everyday I realize that you can’t assume for one second that another person has the same perspective on life as you. Not in any scenario. It’s kinda scary.
Exactly shi pissed me off not only were his kids untrained and literally kids but people who don’t deserve to die were on the plane 🤦🏽♀️
He apparently thought he was only in a plane with fake people.😬
He's Russian it makes sense
that last story scares me so much and is the reason why im so paranoid. if i hear someone screaming from an empty house i will be telling people. if i see bodyparts peeking out from somewhere i will be checking if theyre real. it horrifies me that many people couldve been saved if people just cared a bit more.
I would have freaked seeing legs dangling from a chimney and I would have had to go up and touch it or something even if I thought or knew it was fake. Horrible way to die.
@@dottydew3673 yup absolutely. i hate realistic halloween decorations because if someone happens to die like that people arent gonna assume the worst and theyll just ignore it. ive heard multiple stories of people finding bodies but thinking its fake just because its halloween season.

One thing I've learned from Mr. Ballen's videos is to never, ever use a chimney as a means of entry.
I've developed a weird fear of chimneys thanks to Mr Ballen 😂
I was about to say the same
I actually made a note to self, never climb down a chimney 😂 Not that I was considering it!
I'm not a large person, but it never occurred to me to go down a chimney. I've always wondered how Santa didn't get stuck and die.
The fact that anyone thought it was a good idea to go down a chimney as opposed to all the other methods like kicking down a door, breaking a window, finding a doggie door, checking under the mat for a hideaway key, etc. Not only for the obvious reason of getting stuck, but what if the person was home and armed? Or what if they had started a fire? …The guy won his Darwin Award 🤷♀️
Hello. I am her son and this is her account. Long story short my mother died from a failed ostomy surgery and suffered from extreme agoraphobia and panic disorder. She would spend years in bed suffering from pain. But she loved your youtube channel and it was running almost all the time. She didnt even know fully what amazon prime was but instantly bought it to access more of your content and faster. I was planning to pay you for a short 30 second "Hi" video for her on the ride when she came home
I just wanted you to know how much your content helped her while she was alive. Thanks!
How are you doing?
@berensteinbear5916 sorry to hear about your mom
I’m so sorry for your loss, sir
So sorry to hear about your mom, may she rest in peace now.
I'm sorry for your loss.
The 2nd story was one of the most preventable deaths I've heard in these type of stories you've told. Bewildereding, it's like looking in a drawer for something and not rummaging through it, but just staring at the open drawer
Omg for the first story I just kept thinking "are you f*cking joking me??" HE LET HIS KIDS FLY THE PLANE??!! Wow....just wow. May they all RIP
He was only pretending to let them fly as he intended for the autopilot to do the actual flying. His son pulled on the yoke too hard which disengaged the autopilot and no one noticed it turned off. So not as stupid....but still very stupid.
@@Arguing101What a dumbass. Why would anyone touch the controls? Dude thought he was at an arcade or something. Kids don't belong in the cockpit.
EXACTLY 💯 SMMH
Well, all but one RIP
I genuinely wonder if he bragged the entire time to get the other pilot out of the cockpit so he could bring the kids up there. We'll never know for sure, but you gotta be S-class oblivious to not know the person you are talking to is both checked out and annoyed. Even ppl who have trouble with social cues would pick up on the lack of engagement. So I dunno. I think it was planned and he knew had had to get the pilot out of there to get his kids up in the cockpit. I don't think it was malicious, I don't think he was hoping hiskids would crash the plane, I just think he wanted a cool dad moment and it cost the life of many, his children included.
Flight 593 is the one airplane crash that haunts me every time i think about it… so preventable
Those are the worst
That plane crash must be the most preventable accident ever. The way the autopilot was designed, if you put enough side pressure on the stick it disengaged one element of it, which the Russian pilots were not used to.
not preventable, it should have never happened 100%
💯
Russian pilots are wild, a few years earlier in 1986 a pilot tried to land a passenger with curtained cockpit windows while only looking at instruments, all that to impress his fellow officers. 70 of the 94 passengers and crew on board were killed
This only validates my opinion that you cannot rely on strangers for help, even if youre obviously in dire need of help and crying out. Man, people are oblivious or selfish. I will never understand it. I try and help anyone I can, even if they dont ask for it directly.
Be better people. We need to look out for each other and unite.
I agree with you!
Absolutely.
Who cares he was a thief
This is such a “holier than thou” self boasting way to say that💀
That's why we need government workers. We can't rely on people to help us for free.
That third story is gonna give me nightmares for a week. That's my worst nightmare. Like, literally, I keep having a recurring nightmare of something like this happening to me. It often involves me falling in headfirst into a hole like that. Sometimes, there's rising water at the bottom
Oof. I know these feels. I think I might skip the last story 🙈 nightmares and sleep paralysis on my end! Shit sucks
I have had dreams like this since i was a teenager! Sometimes there are things at the bottom of the hole that dont make sense, like a bomb that isnt exploded but its all the way at the bottom.
You ain't gotta worry. People don't accidentally end up in those spots. Don't wedge yourself in anywhere and you'll be fine.
@@spencerdunn6933 -falls into man hole while watching phone-
Probably how you guys died in a past life.
It's insane to me that it never occurred to ANYONE that maybe Lynn went out the emergency exit literally right next to her room! She wanted to go home, where would you go if you wanted to escape the hospital? The emergency exit right next to your room or down this long hallway where you might be caught? It seems like common sense to me. What a terrible shame!
The staff and the police really failed in their search. Don’t get me started on that researcher or hospital security. At that point, they knew a patient was missing and a random patient is just hanging out on the landing and they just do nothing. I don’t know how they live with themselves wondering if she could’ve been saved had they either waited for security or if security actually went to check.
Even her family! If it were me I would've checked every nook and cranny. Maybe they didn't let the family search? And did they even find out what was wrong with her?
That's what I was thinking!! It's messed up, but, I bet the hospital staff wasn't going to be thorough thinking "eh whatever this patient is crazy they probably are out on the streets somewhere"...but ya, how could at least the family not search intensely?!?
A lot of incompetence in that second story
I completely agree
The second story is crazy to me. I am a nurse and one time we had a confused go missing. We literally went room to room and checked everywhere including walking up and down every single stairwell. We knew the likelihood this patient could even go down or up stairs was very small we still checked them. Patient was found in another room safe.
They were looking for a person who tried to leave the building, not the floor below
@@graymoreghost clue is in the first word you used. "Tried' not did
There was clearly neglect from several people involved.
THERE IS NO ONE ON THIS EARTH QUITE LIKE A NURSE.
I OWE MY LIFE TO "NURSES" NOT DOCTORS, NURSES. THEY ARE OUR FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE ❤
@@graymoreghost They knew she was confused and suffering some kind of mental incapacity. It doesn't matter what they thought she "tried" to do. They should have checked everywhere. ESPECIALLY when they got a call that someone was out on the balcony -- then STILL didn't check there. The absolutely height of irresponsibility and negligence.
Today i went with my friend to a very old abandoned bridge that was for trains, made probably in the late 1890s early 1900s. When walking through the old weakend wooden planks at night i noticed the bridge was very high from the ground and i stopped and said to myself. "You know, i really dont wanna be on a mrballen episode in a few months" I JUST DONT
Haha!!! I live by this rule 😂
I'm glad you thought twice about it. Always better to be safe then sorrow. We should all know that by now from MrBallen 😊
One of your stories that still gets to me is they guy that went searching in the underground caves and got stuck wedged in and died.
The way you story tell is so captivating!
The only good thing about the Nutty Putty incident is that he had people actively trying to save him, so he didn't die alone
That cave is actually directly across the valley from where I live in Utah County. I was shocked when I found that out bcuz I'd passed it numerous times (after the guy had already died) to go rock hounding or four wheeling and I never knew I was driving right past it. If I ever get the chance to go by that way again I intend to leave a wreath and letter of condolence. So sad.
I learned of that story years ago not too long after it happened and I have been forever haunted by it. You did the same thing I did. When you heard him talking about the chimney and losing air your brain is reminded of that cave story. Awful
There was actually a movie made about that story called the Last Descent. So tragic!
Yeah, that was just horrifying!!
I remember the first story from Air Crash investigations. In most episodes the crash is caused by a tiny fault in the plane, or some other small mistake. Hard to believe a professional pilot could be so careless.
Yeah, when I listened to the stories I be like, What is HE thinking 😢 letting his kids "play" with the actual plane... Many innocent people become the victim 😢
You should read some of the other threads on here, there are literally ppl defending him. I felt like I was on an island by myself cause I just can’t find any excuse for such outlandish behavior. If he was that thirsty to show them he could have brought them up when it was on the ground or risk his own life and take them on a small plane but you don’t risk the lives of innocent people who paid money and expected an actual pilot to have control to let your kids “play” absolutely not!
@@sethimonfiresis5846 Or take them to one of the flight simulators. To be fair I'm not sure if they existed in the time and place this happened, I'm definitely no aviation expert, but literally ANYTHING other than letting children take control of a live flight.
Where the heck was the other pilot? The first mate.
Not so professional then..
I'm a nurse who works with dementia patients. The emergency exits would be the first places we would have looked. That's just negligence for not checking there immediately
Agreed. I work in a hospital, and this story gutted me.
@@AnastasiaFafo I know right! Story 3 is my personal nightmare fuel. But to know that that poor woman was just right out of reach and suffered a slow death because of my negligence... I couldn't live with myself after. I don't know how you do it but if one of my patients gets lost we split up. One looks outside, one looks in the rooms, the other floors are called and made aware of the situation and so on. I really don't understand how something like this could happen. And we don't even have a security team.
Yeah sounded seriously suspicious, poor lady.
And that very negligence cost them $3,000,000, but does that really cover the damage? Is there any amount that can truly erase the pain and suffering of losing your loved one? I don’t think so. Sure it may make things somewhat simpler, but it’ll never replace them. And it seems like this sort of thing only happens to people who truly care about the ones that are sick. There are so many elderly patients who are shuffled away into horrible retirement homes and their families could truly care less about them. But they don’t ever seem to have this type of answer to their own needs. The want to get rid of them. It’s a harsh truth but Those of you who work in the medical field know exactly what I mean. They aren’t the ones who are getting the huge paydays for their loss. That would be too easy. And if you ask me they shouldn’t! Such a sad story, he cared about her enough to ignore her intentions of staying home and not going to the hospital but he made damn sure she did. And this is how it ended up. Damn.
@@jackdurden466 truly very sad and tragic. I've worked in retirement homes here in Germany for the past 10 years. I'm currently a headnurse where I work and I've seen it all. The ones that want the best and visit regularly or even daily. But also the ones that can't care less. And than in the final moments they suddenly care because maybe there is something left to inherent. It's sickening. I love that this men was one who cared and its super sad how the situation ended up being.
as soon as i saw aeroflot, i knew what story this was going to be. i've heard this story covered by 3 or 4 channels before this, and read tons of documentation on it.
so this really helped me see how good u are at story telling. the way you choose a subject, tell the story from his perspective in a way that is suspenseful and has a grand reveal at the end. its amazing
this is crazy, I remember watching you when you had less than 500k subs. And now you are averaging like 1.5 mil views a video. Keep up the good work and thank you for your service.
The negligence of the SF General Hospital in story two is ASTONISHING!!! Like, seriously!! How do you just keep letting a deathly ill patient roam the halls trying to escape, then not think to check the freaking exit doors on every floor when you realize she's gone again?!?!? Absolutely insane.
I wish I could say I was astonished. Worked at a hospital years ago. It wasn't surprising to me at all.

John, I am a dance and theatre instructor, and I’ve been teaching improv for quite some time. I have been using your style/technique/approach to story telling (as well as story development and writing style for my older and adult students) as a “genre” in my classes. The students really enjoy putting the “twists” that are prevalent in your work into their sketches. They are given a topic, and within 10 minutes they must create a scene based on a few suggestions- a place, a scenario, and characters- which is then acted out. When I let the students know they’re going to be doing a sketch in the style of MrBallen, they always have an absolute blast!
That’s pretty much awesome ❤
You aren't a dance instructor. Stop telling lies online. It won't lead to anything good, I promise you.
@@marksneddon Do you know what else will lead to nothing good? Accusing people of being liars when you have no knowledge whatsoever about them. I’m not going to disabuse you of your notions about me- a person you know nothing about.

I know advertisements can be annoying, but he made a great point about therapy. After multiple combat tours, I spent a decade being miserable and keeping to myself. When I finally got the courage to get help, my life changed rapidly for the better. Within 5 years, my income quadrupled. I got married to an amazing woman and we have 3 kids. All of my personal goals were obtained.
The last story is similar to Joseph Schexnider of Abbeville, Louisiana who suddenly disappeared without a trace one day in 1984. Fast forward 27 years later in 2011 and a renovation crew was tearing out a chimney in a bank right there in town. When the workers were removing the bricks, they found human bones. When the police retrieved the remains, they found Thomas’s identification. He had been right there the entire time. The police believed he got stuck in the chimney like Thomas, and remained entombed until they found him. Even had he screamed as loud as he could, the sound would have been directed upward and no one on the street would have heard him. The bank had never used fireplaces, and both of them had been sealed off when the space was occupied. That must have been a horrific way to die, but he played a stupid game and won a stupid prize.
I worked at SF General when the very sad incident happened to Lynn. The CNA that was sitting with her, her RN, and the Charge Nurse were all fired after this event. We work 12 hour shifts there, from 7pm until 7:30am was the time this happened, the CNA was ready to leave, the on coming CNA gets there at 7am, well by 7:40 they still hadn’t arrived, the CNA tried to call for help but no one came, she stepped out of the room, an absolute NO NO, to find someone to relieve her. When she stepped out, Lynn did also, going in the other direction. The hospital was going through renovation and, the rest is really sad!
I wonder why she didn’t have an alarm on her bed when they knew she was trying to walk away and was confused! That’s common sense! I know Stanford uses them often, so SF General, must also. Just such a sad situation.
It sounded like they moved her at some point because she kept running. If that is or isnt the case, why the heck was her room right by the exit? And that is the first place I would look if I were in that situation... Insanely incompetent staff was in charge of her, and she died because of it.
Did they ever figure out what was wrong with her
My question is why they didn't have a bed alarm on her
Omg so she had a 1-1
If Mr Ballen has taught me anything its to NOT EVER climb into a chimney. Not that I ever would to begin with. Another lesson Ive learned from Mr Ballen and my elderly neighbor is too check on people when you think you hear screaming. It could mean the difference between life and death.

Too many people are scared of "getting involved," or rather "don't want to be bothered..."
We need to ask ourselves:
WHAT IF that was ME screaming for help- only to be ignored? 😢😢😢

I would recommend to watch a full aeroflot flight 593 breakdown. It's full of mindblowing details. The most heartbreaking part is that the situation could have been fixed twice during that time and even the kid pointed out that something was wrong, but it was ignored until it was too late.

So sorry. My mother just passed recently from a horrible rare cancer. It affected her mind too
I am so sorry. As some solice, most hospitals now days have systems in place. The hospital I work at has bed alarms and cameras in rooms that can be used with at risk patients. Also most exit doors that could lead to something like this is badge acess only unless an emergency. In an emergency you have to push the door for 15 seconds and then an alarm will sound. My kids and I were Soldiers' Angels for about 8 years. We had two to four adopted Heroes that whole time. We committed to a letter every week and a package every month for each one. The most important thing we sent was love. I ended every letter with "Hugs from home from Jody, Takla and Joe". We would have been proud to have adopted you!
I have to tell you what happened at the fair one year! I was wearing a Soldiers' Angels shirt when I stopped at a booth of Army recruiters. One of them saw my shirt and said, "Soldiers' Angels! You people are amazing!". He said that on his third tour of Iraq, their kitchen was blown up in a mortar attack. They were restricted to two MREs a day. They got back from patrol one day and found a HUGE pile of boxes waiting for them. They couldn't imagine what was in them. The boxes were all crammed with food, and they were all from Soldiers' Angels. They all had notes saying "We're proud of you" and "We love you". They had a feast that night, and they still had food left from us when they got their new kitchen. I told him that my kids and I had sent two of those boxes, and I didn't think I'd get my hand back! That was just amazing. I had to take my kids back to meet him. He insisted.
That researcher who reported finding Lynn then moved along happily, and the security who promised to go look and never did....hope none of them sleep at night 🤬

I was a security guard for a hospital for about a week. Low pay and only one day of training. The training consists of mainly walking around the hospital top to bottom while switching your post every few hours. We have to scan a dot on a wall to say we were on this floor or this room, including emergency stairwells. The fact security didn't check a patient laying down unconscious in a stairwell astonishes me.
I worked in a hospital for awhile myself, on 3 occasions.
I was on the maintenance crew .
It's unbelievable how much ridiculous drama there was, considering it was a crew of men.
Pretty much a no win scenario.
I used to deal with security at a hospital a lot and they were tough as nails. They were constantly dealing with psychiatric and homeless, chasing people and restraining and they got paid well for it! That being said, people get lazy and don't want to deal with the b.s. and I'd wager that's what happened. Either they half assed it or she was in such a position that they could see the landing, but just not her. Heartbreaking.
well to be fair who sees a sick patient and calls security? isn't that the job of say a doctor? I suspect the researcher called saying there is a homeless person sleeping in the stairwell

Makes you wonder how thoughtless the rest of the population is, if someone in a role of heavy responsiblity can do something so brainless
He couldn’t figure out how to save the plane when all he had to do was let go off everything which is hard to do if it’s out of control but he wasn’t told about the planes fitures and should have been it was a French airbus brand new to the Russians. They all could have been. Negligence in some fashion 😕 last one was negligence for his own safety.
I'm confused as to why the copilot even allowed it to happen???
It's more complicated than how MrBallen made it sound - though he's still a good storyteller. The usual telling is that the daughter was too little to make the controls do anything, but the son pulled them enough to adjust the autopilot slightly and nobody noticed the plane was off course until it crashed into the ground because they couldn't see outside. I don't fault MrBallen for making it a better story though.
He didnt let his kids take control of the plane. He had the autopilot on. The boy was just stupid enough to pull on the yoke so hard it shut the autopilot off giving him control of the plane.

If you see something out of the ordinary, address it. Two stories here could have ended very differently if one person had done something about what they saw. Even if it’s not your fault or your problem, *make it your problem*.

@@jim9990 They just want to know if you can tell them how to get to Bells Canyon.

Yes but in both cases there's a high probability that the person was dead already. Poor woman was probably in a psychosis and the guy who chose to climb down a chimney was already insane because that's such a terrible idea. Chimney sweeps were tiny kids back in the day because an adult human won't fit
There’s a catch to that. It’s a two edged sword. There’s criminals that play advantage of peoples sympathy. But falling for someone’s “distress”, you can end up carjacked and possibly hurt.
My father was 65 and in a wheelchair at a rehabilitation facility. He kept saying he wanted to go home. The nurse found him clothed and rolling toward the exit. He had a cell phone and was going to roll toward the road and have my mother pick him up. They called and said they were going to low jack his wheel chair. When he got within 20 ft, the alarm would go off in the nurses desk. What a nightmare.
Thank you for yet another great and informative video. Watching from the UK England.
I love every single one of your stories, but these are my absolute favorites. ❤ Thank you for your time and effort.
I was a medic for 10 years and have seen my share of dead bodies and I can remember 2 of the worst sights I’ve ever seen with dead bodies and 1 was in a car accident after it exploded into a fireball and all that was left was the outer shell of the car, the springs of the seat, his shriveled head in the backseat, a lot of bones, and the trunk of his body. It was bad and I had to get his body out in the dark while police were asking if I wanted bbq sauce with it🤢. The other was a man with dementia who went missing in the middle of summer for 2 weeks and that summer it was in the upper 90’s and 100’s in NC. He went out into the woods and shot himself in the head. Gruesome is an understatement with half of his head gone from the shotgun blast, he was swollen, covered in maggots, whatever of his head was left was black and rotten. I called my boss and said we needed air tanks and biohazard suits because it was that bad. Everyone said I turned green and I believe it. And the smells are as bad as everyone says and you can’t forget it.
oh man I'm sorry....
How awful 😢 I wish people understood the value of people like you, doing the unthinkable so that others don't have to.
Those police should be ashamed of themselves, that person had value.
Yeesh! I understand those who are first responders generally developed a twisted sense of humor as a coping mechanism for what they deal with regularly, but there is a time and place for jokes and that wasn't it!
That was someone's loved one.😢
Idk what to say. I hope you take care of your own mental health. I can’t imagine. Thank you for doing your work.
@@IdratherbeinHobbiton I just told him to f*ck off and I knew they wouldn’t arrest me. And yes we do at times have a sick sense of humor but yes he was someone’s son, father, and husband (I know his wife was pregnant at the time). It was awful what we saw

As a brazilian, think you can make a entire series of ''places you can't go and people went anyway'' only with stories of people outside Brazil comming here and trying to take some trip to the favelas because they saw it on internet or in a movie and ended up missing, robbed, murdered or all of this.
Yep. I’m sure some people took “City of God” and “City of Man” a little too seriously.
Me and my friend almost ended up disappeared in those favelas...it was a really bad situation that kept us there 2 extra days. We had to hide in some old lady's house. She was sweet and fed us. Two guys had tried to rob us and we ended up getting the upper hand and robbing them instead...their whole gang was looking for us. We had to steal bicycles and ride as fast as possible out of the favelas at 4am

The second story is even worse than described here because 4 sheriff deputies were told to check all 10 stairwells and every single one of them missed the one stairwell with Lynne for one reason or another. Hey MrBallen, convinced one of my old Army pals to reach out to Better Help. We are both disabled combat vets (Army 01-05) we live on opposite coasts so him having something like this, that can be there when his friends can’t, and give him the help he needs is huge. Especially because it’s separate from any VA politics. He is doing a lot better. Just wanted to give a shout out and thanks. Appreciate it MrBallen.
Real therapy for armyvets costs too much in the USA? Out here BetterHelp is the worst therapy you can have.
better help sells your data.
@@drawgam2946both of the things you said are true yes. Therapy is super expensive here, even for people who were promised they’d be taken care of. If you *_can_* find an affordable care or sliding scale program, a lot of times they still don’t have the resources and only have limited treatment options for minor psychiatric conditions. Like our county-level mental health only covers depression, anxiety, and bipolar. And If the medication services don’t work for you the first try or if you don’t get along with your providers you aren’t allowed to switch, they’ll just remove you from the system.
BetterHelp sucks for sure and isn’t much cheaper but it’s better than constantly calling the crisis line, and at least they let you switch if you don’t get along with your LMHP 😅
I definitely recommend checking psychology today though, a lot of therapists/psychologists/psychiatrist have telehealth options that aren’t even remotely part of the betterhelp system. Just make sure they’re properly licensed and educated for mental health and not like, a cuddle therapist, because that’s a thing 🤣

I get the last homeowner having bars on his windows and a security system. If I were living there, I'd actually even plank the doors once inside. I didn't work hard my entire life and go through the crap I've had to just to have somebody break in and either squat or ransack the place.
I'm so used to seeing them in Europe! After living in North america, I was surprised by the homes here in Spain. Every yard is fenced, all barred windows, etc. I don't think I could go back to fence-less backyards!
Particularly not when squatters are often heavily protected by the law
I remember that story about Lynn, I live in SF, & I have always avoided hospitals way before that had ever happened. They likely thought it was a homeless person using drugs, so they kept walking. There’s a huge problem here with all that!
Which is even worse they just kept walking! Drug user or not they're still someone's family! And obviously in her case it wasn't that so they did even worse by assume! Glad the family sued and won!
I lived in the Tenderloin during my 'heroin days' in the 80s.
@1694cgrnt I won't help people anymore because I was nearly unalived one time trying to save somebody who was faking. It's like The Boy Who Cried Wolf. I'd be like, "I'm not falling for that again". I just hope I can resist the urge if it ever happens again. Or maybe I would need more proof to validate a genuine rescue situation.
That kind of stigma must end. Also, if they thought she was on drugs, all the more reason to intervene. There's no excuse.
But if she was outside the 4th floor door, wouldn’t someone question how she got into the stairwell? If the emergency exits there is anything like my apartment building, the bottom exit door is exit only and doesn’t open from the outside to get in.

As always, I can’t stop admiring Mr Ballen for his storytelling skills!!
Th fact they knew Lynn would try and escape and they just left alone is ridiculous and mind blowing that they didn’t have some stand watch or something. She should never have been left unattended.
I was in hospital is MS and wanted to leave to check on my dog though I was very sick ( my dog and I were both attacked) ..I was told if I left my room would not be held for me But that it was my decision...

Unless you are under a legal psych hold, you have constitutional rights and can leave any time.
