This Eljer Preserver is a very good toilet - it looks like a European/UK toilet from the surface due to it very low bowl water level (as like a washdown toilet) with an open rim but it has the siphon at the end of the flush. The performance is decent enough - a good tank top open rim washdown toilet from the UK (or EU) would perform pretty much the same (take the washcloth every time and the dish towel if it was angled slightly so it does not 'ball up' but not the grocery bag due to the low water as it would air up as it gets pulled into the trapway - it would pass on a high tank as with UK high tank washdowns due to the sheer force of the water pushing everything into the trapway) as I have seen similar tests in the UK. As with the better open rim washdowns the bowl rinse and clearance is spot on and this siphonic aided one passes it perfectly. The best of both types of toilet (washdown and siphonic) this 1992 Preserver is - hence why I seriously like this toilet! If I had to give it a score I would rate it 8.5/10 (not perfect but still a damn good performing toilet which I would install).
Thank you for letting us see how this toilet got on with these tests. It was most interesting and it did pretty well, it was certainly very impressive on the dirt test.
OCC plumbing this is Carter trahan I used to watch your videos but I no longer collect toilets anymore I collect fire alarms now but I do love your channel
Lmao i was certain this was a washdown from the thumbnail and close enough, just a little better at handling floaty things and a little worse at handling solid mass
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations have you gone abroad to see the wash downs irl? They’re more “straightforward” and less interesting but the oldschool ones with a high tank can have a super powerful flush.

These are an interesting design.
This is a great toilet. But that dirt test was ABSOLUTELY INSANE.
Yeah!
I like this toilet is a rate design that has been hidden all the time…
I didn't know these existed until recently

You're welcome! It's always cool to test strange toilets

Thanks!
I think it's a pretty neat toilet. The bowl could hold a little more water, but other than that, it's good.
I agree
it flushes exactly like the crane atlas
They're a little different but it is very similar
Great toilet
I agree
I think it's a pretty nice toilet tbh, and it seems to be a good performer for an open rim toilet.
Yeah!
That did very good.
I like this toilet!
Same!
Have any of these been filmed in elongated form or would that be a YT first? I found one today at a Walgreens
I don't think I've ever seen anyone film an elongated one but the Gustavsburg is similar and they come in elongated.
Awesome toilet! it would be cool to see on BTR's flushometer setup
this thing would probably splash water everywhere on a flushometer
Yeah!
Beautiful commode
I like the flush
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations me too
I thought the Eljer Preserver was basically an eljer ultra. I guess I was wrong lol
This was called the preserver as well as a flushometer version of the Savoy and Patriot.
It's an ugly looking toilet, but so cool and interesting. And it seems to be a rather decent performer.
Yeah, it's neat!
Interesting toilet!
I agree
The washcloth and grocery bag passed 2 years ago
Awesome
Great toilet but a funny tank
This toilet is super weird
finally a european toilet!!11!11!!111
It's actually not a European toilet, but it definitely looks like one
I filmed some actual European toilets last December!
1:42 I really like your videos. You are the best toilet person I ever made. I wish you could meet me ):
Thanks a lot!
Finally someone did it mixed an american toilet with a european
Toilet
Many South American toilets are like this
Toto did it too with their Aquia
This toilet looks like a washdown toilet
It does
Lmao i was certain this was a washdown from the thumbnail and close enough, just a little better at handling floaty things and a little worse at handling solid mass
Yeah, washdowns aren't a thing here for the most part.

@@Supcharged I traveled everywhere as a kid and saw toilets on all corners of the world.
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations and which are the types you like and dislike the most?
@@Supcharged My favorite toilets are American ones and my least favorite are probably Chilean
It’s cute 😊
I think it's unique
I hate washdown toilets but this one is decent because it siphons.
Yeah, I wonder why they made them like this
I was thought that was gonna be a wash down toilet. Lol
It looks like one
This is a quite awesome toilet! Before putting this in ANY home, i would replace that awful looking excuse for a toilet tank
Agreed
this toilet looks like the cistern toilets from other countries.
It does, I wonder why they made them that way.
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations I don't know. it was made in Canada, so I don't know why it would be designed like a European toilet.
1.6 gpf or 3.5 gpf?
1.6
I like this toilet
Same
Decent toilet
I agree
It looks like a caroma
Yeah, that trapway opening is interesting
Bruh
What?
I really like that flush because it is a very powerful and very good toilet
It's a very interesting one
