Enjoy and have a great Hawaii vacation!
Thanks for checking out the resorts...fun to stay at and have a lot of fun.
Hi guys, I just want to say thanks for making these great videos. My wife and I just got back from Maui for our honeymoon, and before we went, we watched tons of your videos and they were super helpful for us.
We always stay close to Lahaina because of all great eating and shopping places. Great video
Looks like a fun expensive trip
I miss cruising so that boat is for me! Lol
This is a great video! I have to agree with Erica about Kapalua. I think I left my heart there. Between the bay itself and the condo we got with the double decker wrap around views on Kapalua Ridge, there's no other place like it. And the snorkeling is just fabulous! If it rains, just keep driving south until you find sun. The sun eventually returns to Kapalua. :)
It is a special place. It has been raining a lot in april up there but it makes it so nice and green compared to West Maui. Kapalua is the best. thanks for sharing.
We just got back from Maui last night, we stayed in Kihei what an amazing/beautiful place and pretty much in the center of it all, your videos inspired a great part of our family vacation thank you
That is great to hear! Kihei is a nice place to stay. hope you can come back soon
We are on our last day in Kauai and your videos were so helpful in planning our trip! Now I’m planning a Maui trip for 2023 😁🌈!! I can’t wait to see all your videos !
Have a safe flight home and thanks for watching! Glad we could help and enjoy the Maui trip planning!
Stayed at The Westin at Ka’anapali last summer and it was great!! The beach was beautiful and the Whaler’s village was such a big plus!
It is one of our favorites. It makes for a fun vacation and easy to see the island from there.
We just did 2 weeks in Maui for spring break & cannot wait to go back!!! We stayed at 3 different places, in order to see more of the island. But, we did a full week at the Hyatt in Kaanapoli and it was amazing!!! We have six kiddos (1-13 yrs) and everyone had a blast. We watched so many of your videos before we went and we took your advice on SO MANY things!!! Thanks so much for your awesome, informative videos!
thanks so much for watching and great to hear the whole family had fun. Good for you to travel with six kids! The Hyatt pool is a good one with all the waterfalls. Hope you can come back soon!
Honestly, our easiest vacation, since everyone loved it so much!!! We will definitely be going back!
Great video, guys!! It was fun for me to see you at Launiupoko beach park last week🌸
enjoy the time with family! it was nice meeting you too!
We just did 10 days on Maui and your guide was so so helpful! We stayed at the Marriott in Kaanapali and the Four Seasons. Totally different resorts but they were both amazing!
Thanks for sharing! Those are two great places to stay and I'm glad you got a feel for two parts of the island.
Love your videos! Planning for our Hawaiian honeymoon in May 2023 🤗
thanks for watching and congrats on the honeymoon. See our honeymoon things to do ideas: thehawaiivacationguide.com/maui-for-couples/
Everyone always misses Kahana Village Resort. It is a hidden gem. Very affordable and more like townhomes. On the beach with Free amenities like mai tai parties etc. and Quiet.
thanks for sharing!
That cloud Almost had me switching my stay to the Marriott! Will be staying at the Fairmont soon and cannot wait
😂 you'll have a great time at the Fairmont! I like the feel of the place.
We need cheap n easy to book!
As a Maui resident in Hana - I find good info in your videos for Maui staycations ideas. Camping at Olowalu next week. Thanks!
have a great staycation in West Maui. Hana feels like the other side of the world for us, and I hope it stays that way! Thanks for watching!
heading to Ka’anapali in July! Can’t wait to do some diving there
Enjoy the diving! I always wanted to go out from Kahekili (Airport) Beach. There are always tours leaving from there.
I’m planning a trip with my mom for 2023. It’s been a lifelong dream of hers to visit Hawaii. I’m so thankful I’ve found your channel! I’ve only visited Oahu and I had sorta thought Maui would be a better choice for this visit. I’m a bit nervous about the cost though…
Hotel rates are high right now. Keep a watch on prices. Usually the lowest prices are during September and October. We will be coming out with a video on the best Maui value-hotels later this summer.
Wailea/Makena also has great condo rentals, which can be even more expensive than the Wailea hotels.
Would love to see a review of Kaanapali Ali’i!
Would love to see a hotel review on the Kanapali Beach Hotel!! 🤍
we are staying there in June! coming up soon
Never compare yourself to others, it’s a waste of energy. You are unique and have your own gifts to offer the world.
I stay at "The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali" because it’s a beautiful place, great food and spa and it’s next to everything, Whalers Village, Hula Grill sandy barefoot bar, Leilani’s On the beach, Monkeypod Kitchen and the best view of the sunset. People come by boat and foot from everywhere to see. You can walk The beach paved path that does go South to Whalers village and walk going North to the fish market, a good 20 minute walk.
The Westin is a solid recommendation for everything you listed. They also decorate very well for the holidays!
We are honeymooning in April of ‘23! Thanks for info
see our honeymoon things to do article: thehawaiivacationguide.com/maui-for-couples/
Congratulations on the honeymoon!
No question Wailea has the best sunset. The sun goes down right at the middle of the Wailea beach.
Hi! Love your channel, it's been a huge help in my trip planning! Just wondering how humid is it in Maui right now? I have asthma and am worried it it will be uncomfortably humid. Thanks!
Hawaii is in the tropics so it’s humid, around 80% humidity
Hi Erica and Jordan! Made progress now…Final decision…Maui for 2 weeks! I’m starting my homework on your travel blog…Let the planning begin! Do you both know of any realtors in Hawaii? Thank you so much for all the detailed information on your blog! Mahalo!
Aloha Arlene, enjoy the planning and exploring our website! Two weeks is a good amount of time to visit.
Hello my favorite Maui Family! You read my mind…I have been reading up on your blog and watching your videos…and I don’t know where to start to decide where to stay on Maui or Oahu. Am I not finding homes to rent because of the new rules for vacation rentals? I know for Oahu it recently changed. Is Maui following the same path? I’ve been seeing a lot of reports on the rise of crime in Hawaii, should we be concerned during vacation about not going to certain areas of Maui? Maui is top pick and may do a few days on Oahu too now. Looking at West Maui…Lahaina /Kaanapali.Thanks for making this video! Hope Henry and new baby are doing well also…take care!
Aloha Arlene, Bill 41 was only for Oahu. It restricts vacation rentals to Waikiki, Turtle Bay area, Ko Olina, and Makaha. Maui has been talking about reducing the number of rentals but no firm ordinance has been put forward. We haven't seen reports of higher crime in Hawaii but perhaps some areas are seeing an uptick that makes the news. Doing two islands is fun if you are staying for over a week! West Maui is a great place to stay. Enjoy the research.
Thank you for your informative video, I’m looking to take my family of 10 to Maui the first week of October; not sure yet if to get an air bnb or a hotel. Both seem to have their pro and cons. Our group ranges from ages 7-64
agreed, it is a tough decision. See our where to stay section to help you find the right place. Check Puamana and Aina Nalu for some good vacation rentals: thehawaiivacationguide.com/stay/
hi! I'm loving your videos so far as I plan my vacation. my question is this how do you get to North Maui without taking the Honoapillani highway that everyone tells you to avoid? Do you go the other way around on Kahekill Highway?
Thanks for watching! You take Route 30 or the Honoapi'ilani Hwy to Kapalua (northwest Maui). You don't take the Kahekili Highway starting in Wailuku. See our Maui car rental video for tips:
czcams.com/video/f0JuYwfNvhM/video.html
thanks!
Any thoughts on the Residence Inn Maui- Wailea? We will be staying there this summer, using Marriott points so the room is free.
great use of points as it is an expensive place. It is next to the AC Marriott so not on the beach but close to it as Wailea is small. It is a Residence Inn in a luxury area.
Hi my wife and I are vacationing later this year. We are headed to ku'uai. I believe you mentioned an itinerary style booklet that helps plan the perfect vacation, things to do and what to avoid for first time visitors. How can I purchase/download?
Thanks for asking. You can learn about our Kauai itinerary here: thehawaiivacationguide.com/best-hawaii-itineraries/
Thanks for watching and have a great trip to Kaua'i!
Do you know of a resort near Kanapali that is like a little Japan? with rooms with screens, snady beach and a tea room?
we're not familiar with such a resort. Hotel Wailea used to be a Japanese resort but not anymore.
Is there anywhere on Maui island by beach only, free from flower/fragrances scents? And any affect by VOG for people who is sensitive /allergy as well?
VOG is light on the Big Island and not on Maui. it would be hard to not smell flowers when on Maui.
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide which island would you recommended meet my needs?
What area would you say is less windy? Since you mentioned both are windy
Kihei is less windy than Ma'alaea in our experience.
What do you guys think about Lahaina Shores resort?
Great location and a nice property. I haven't been in the rooms but the place has a devout following of people who go every year.
Would you guys make a video of the new AC hotel in Wailea? 7:41
Thanks for subscribing. It is a no frills hotel, read our review of it here: thehawaiivacationguide.com/stay/residence-inn-wailea-a-hotel-with-condo-functionality/
How much to crash at your place??
Would you recommend going to Maui in October?
Do it! Hot!
We always go in October and November. We love it. The worst part is coming home to the cold Pacific Northwest. It’s also cheaper to go that time of year. Our place rents for $199 a night until the middle of December. 50 ft from the water, unobstructed views. People like Kihei, but you generally can do just as well on the west side cost wise and in almost all cases have a better view of the water and sunsets
we have an article on that! thehawaiivacationguide.com/is-october-a-good-time-to-go-to-maui/
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide Thanks!
What’s better Maui or oahu
we have an article on that! thehawaiivacationguide.com/oahu-vs-maui/
If I had unlimited money I would stay at the Fairmount. Did a walk through the place.when we were at Polo Beach...fantastic.
later in the day we met Jamie Foxx on Wailea Beach!
Enjoy your videos, they bring back great memories.
The Fairmont is getting a nice remodel too. We saw Adam Levine running through Wailea one day but Jamie Foxx, dang that would be cool. See our unpublished video on the Fairmont for details: czcams.com/video/svAQP_kmPMY/video.html
Don’t you find sleeping in a birth kind of icky, with all that placenta and amniotic fluid? Personally, I would prefer a berth on a boat or ship.
Son of a … I thought that looked funny. Can’t change it now.
Problem now is the cost of lodging has almost doubled in 2 years.
The when you go on VRBO and Air B&B, they used to charge tax and cleaning fee. Now it's that PLUS dubious " service charge" "manager fee' " facilitator fee" " booking fee" on and on BS fees that add up to another whopping 60 to 70% more in fess.
Better deals in the Bahamas and Mexico
Yes, Hawaii is crazy expensive. Lodging is the biggest expense so don’t book the flight and then look at hotels.
