Green Bay Packers: One of the players, David Bakhtiari, LOVED the first movie. He said he watched it over 30 times and talked it up with his teammates. He tweeted at Elizabeth Banks to say he liked it and that they (the Packers) would do anything to be in the next movie. He meant a quick cameo but she took “anything” to mean they’d sing and dance and so she wrote that ridiculous scene at Tobias Fünke’s house.

I wonder if that was how Elizabeth Banks got attached or if Banks went to Kay Cannon with the book. Because she had a recurring guest role on 30 Rock and is even credited as a guest writer on a few episodes.
I love how, as this franchise continued, they just threw any notion of plot or coherance out the window. Iconic honestly.
for the best. when movies try to be coherent or logical, where the story fails is more obvious. but if it tells us its meant to be crazy, we can enjoy scenes like an underground acapella match at some rich dudes estate

I think it’s visually clear enough to get the point across. It’s grown women in the classic Bella uniform, I think it could be reasonably assumed well enough to not be considered a plot hole

Im assuming this is sarcasm because "Hailee Steinfeld did nothing impressive in film" is such an unhinged take. She was literally nominated for an Oscar at age 14 for True Grit in 2010. She's fantastic in The Edge of 17, Bumblebee, Dickinson and even voice acting in Spider-verse and Arcane.
I saw Pitch Perfect 3 IN THEATERS BABES and it was such a fever dream, I'm looking forward to you covering it sometime in the future. The absurdity truly cranked up to 1000% in that movie.

I sometimes forget not everyone is as obsessed with these movies as I am and don’t have my encyclopedic knowledge. There’s so much interesting bts that change the perspective of things. Beca and Chloe won a teen choice award for best chemistry so the fact that the other two movies leaned in to their chemistry but never made it canon???? Vile. The only reason the bellas were all squeezed into one tent is because they failed at setting up the second tent (deleted scene). It’s heavily speculated that Beca and Jesse weren’t together anymore in the second film (which might also be affected by my love for bechloe) but it is confirmed in the third film that they broke up. Which means they were both single and sleeping in the same bed in the third film (there was only two beds in their apartment and Amy claimed the main one) and clearly in love and they tried to give them new love interests. Anna Kendrick did not let Beca date the new guy though so it was just Chloe getting with a soldier and Beca being kind of friends with the producer guy. What was the point???? and I still hold that grudge against universal

For the 2nd movie they were trying to do more cameos with real a cappella groups. People were hoping to see Pentatonix. Since the Bellas were representing the USA in competition, the writers chose to make Pentatonix Canadian so they could fit in the plot.
The real life groups sang Anyway You Want It for the soundtrack and their cameos!
