Easily Learn How to Adjust the Temperature on your Gas Water Heater!
Sometimes the Water coming out of the Water Heater is just not hot enough so in this video learn how to easily increase the temperature on a Gas Water Heater. The same principle applies to Electric Water Heaters but you do have to remove the cover plate.

Thanks for this. I have this same adjustment and it was on C and always super hot at highest setting. Put it at low and still pretty hot and using less energy

hopefully this works, my water heater seems to be going out and it hasnt been more than 10 yrs forsure and the setting that it used to be giving quite ample hot water essentially runs out of hot water too quick or it cant even get that hot in the shower at all
Yeah if you turn it up and doesn’t help the thermostat could be going out
@@WeBuildItDIY update: it helped a lot and when it starts getting warmer i can definitely see that turning it down back to where it was for the summer months should be more than enough heat. thank you so much
What do you do when the setting dial won't turn?
That’s not good. Most likely it is needing
Replaced if it isn’t adjustable.

So i can just go ahead and adjust the knob to my liking i dont have to shut anything off?
No but if the pilot were to go out you will have to relight but it shouldn’t affect the pilot light
What do those letters mean?
From my understanding(feel free to research yourself as well), the settings are as follows:
A=125*F
B=140*F
C=160*F
For safety purposes, most manufacturers recommend no setting to higher than 140*F to prevent possible scolding of the skin. If you have children, please take precautions before turning it on this setting. 140*F is VERY HOT, so again use your best judgement.
As stated above, please refer to your owner’s manual or do your own research prior to doing any adjustments. I’m NOT a professional, I’m just an average DIY’er!

They are different levels
You never wanna go over 120° because somebody will get seriously hurt 127 is too much 120 is sufficient for a human being especially kids around
