The universe is not merciful. Every story ends in death.
@@gamecokben Death is a kindness. Who would want to be trapped in this realm?
That's a unique way of looking at it. So many ways for us to meet our demise yet they take place in this quantum realm devoid of our knowledge and attention. I still remember hearing that groove for the first time in an H&M in June 2018. Thank God my SoundHound worked and I have such fond memories of that summer because of this song. I had lost 60 pounds due to illness, and I needed to change up my life so I quit my part-time job for an internship for a local sports talk show, where we had to travel all around my state, and this song is so strongly associated with that summer. It just reminds me of a time where I felt freer.

Anything could go wrong, but it hasn’t yet and it probably won’t. Don’t stress, breathe. Just breathe and be grateful for where you are.
Yes! let me connect what you said with my take of the video:
So let me talk about the law of attraction. If the person we're anxious about the whole trip, she might have just attracted disaster. What we feel, we attract. It is the law of attraction. When we have high vibrations, we reflect them back to the Universe. A major disaster just might have happened in an alternate universe but it didn't and everything was all well and good. It is like anxiety because what we usually fear that is going to happen doesn't happen most of the time, the fear is only in our head. You are safe. In the girl's case, she was blissfully unaware of the impending disaster but she was just chill and at peace so the Universe only reflected that back, and the Universe made things happen in whatever mysterious and mystical ways the Universe does her thing.

This was the song I dedicate to my cat Honey. We would always listen to this song on our drives. We had a connection, a bond without words. I loved her with all my heart and I know she loved me. She was the smartest cat, learning how to spin, sit and give her tiny paw shakes.

The visuals are damn near identical to Japanese pop art of the 80s. A time of incredible economic growth, optimism was higher than ever, and the feeling of happiness really shone through the art style. It wouldn’t stay however, as it turned out the economic growth was unsustainable, and the 90s led to one of Japan’s largest economic downturns ever. So this art style really hits home as incredibly nostalgic for that time for a lot of folks.
I grew up in Japan in the 90's and got samples of some of the best the previous decade had to offer.
Casiopea is a band that embodies that optimism and brightness you describe.
The main difference is through the decades they've kept those sounds of comfort and happiness alive in their souls and in the sounds they create for the world.
I'm very lucky to have had family that was into the creations of others

That's life, rolling the dice constantly. Sometimes our cards get pulled, but billions of years of programming and testing has got us this far. So we typically make it out fine, but still we can be quite fragile.
So yeah that's basically a description of both the song lyrics and the video.

I finally went on a trip last weekend. It was divine. This was my background song and nothing could have made my experience any better.
One of my best friends who I considered family was killed 4 months ago and I was sitting in my bathroom just stuck not knowing how to feel and this song randomly came on in one of my CZcams playlist and it just made me feel good and it settled my anxiety and stress about the situation. Hola. Hope you're better
Now I’m thinking about all the potential freak accidents in my life that could have possibly killed me that I was completely oblivious to.
baby duck u r a baby duck pls do not worry about such things
don't get too worried about at literally any moment half the world could get taken out by gamma radiation from a nearby supernova, don't sweat though because you have as much control over that as you do that suitcase, or the termites. Just ride it out and hope that all the chips fall into place
I almost drowned in a duck pond when I was a little kid, nothing oblivious about that.
Stfuuu pussyy
I just literally covered all of my body with a blanket and huddled up for protection.
anytime I have a moment where i become overstimulated (like actually ADHD overload) I get super super existential and can panic myself in an endless loop of questions, this song calms me down enough to actually think through it. There is literally no other song that I know of that relaxes me this much (I'm that one friend you have that never likes any song you choose in the car)
Every year, that fire extinguisher gets more and more out of date, adding more and more suspense to that scene.
Being a needlessly paranoid person, I expected this video to go very wrong...
...but it doesn't. And I should expect the same in real life, I try, really. Tell myself it's not gonna happen but I still feel that horrible paranoia.
I'll get better.
Ru I didn’t think I would find another person that felt like this. I tell myself everyday the same thing.. but it never goes away
That's called anxiety.
Also, you can clearly see @ 3:23, there were a series of unfortunate events about to unfold (if not, only avoiding one of them(the branch)).
Sometimes, life can be great, like a storybook. Sometimes it can feel like there is a God in the sky looking out for you, making sure you never go through a hardship you can't surmount. Sometimes everything can go a beautiful way you could never have expected, but it did, and you get to feeling so thankful for it in turn.
From a paranoid perspective, life does not have good things. But if there can be no good things in life, then why live? There will always be good things in life; this is an absolute truth. All that's left up to you is to go and find them, and if you can't find them, make them. Don't let the terror control you; the world might be terrible, but it is also the most wonderful, beautiful, magical place a human being could ever ask for.
you’ll get better.

I see this as a metafiction type of thing, where she is me, not reading the book, distracted by life as it passes her by from across the glass/screen/frame/window. It's the tragedy of my ambitions in a lot of ways because my desires are conflicted. So while I indulge in the view I lose myself from everything else - the responsibility, for example, that the band unknown mortal orchestra has towards their recievers - the selflessness they have to produce intelligent music - their devotion to the cerebral smog of conscientious quotidian life...

This is one of the best animated music videos of all time
if you like Unknown Mortal Orchestra you should check out Lonely Gimmick - All Along the Watchtower, it gives me Unknown Mortal Orchestra vibes and it's a great take on a classic song
the piano does such a good job at tempering the aggression and funk elements of this song and adds that feel of sincerity in the chord progression of the verse and bridge. Such a perfect touch! I can't say enough about how well this song was put together. Without a doubt, my favorite song of 2018!
Me too..I saw him live at end of november..that was great also
I totally agree & you nailed it with the expression "feel of sincerity". The voicing of the piano & the way it is recorded (distorted & panning) gives it a slightly sad, dreamy touch. If they would have banged out the chords with a fender rhodes on the 1 it would have been a totally different song (definitely less interesting). The whole thing is extremely well arranged & "solved", it's what it makes innovative and fresh & shows how much a clever arrangement & production can add to a song.
Fav of 2019 too and you know it bruh lmao
It's interesting how the music syncs with the video: a woman on a train, enjoying the natural beauty of life and towards the end a heavy object above her head that could fall at any moment. In a way, it is as if a message could gleaned: live your life to the fullest, find fulfillment, as life is short and we never know when it may close.
You got it
I scoured the comments for affirmation, this is definitely what I get from it.
Relax, whether or not you know it, it could be any moment. Just enjoy it
it's also about avoidance/ignorance - notice the name of the song "honeybee" - notice how the train disturbs the honeybee in the beginning, and at the end, the tree branch falls because of termites
My take:
So let me talk about the law of attraction. If the person were anxious the whole trip, she might have just attracted disaster.
@@patrickkan999 your take is nonsensical bullshit
The tension built up before the branch fell was masterfully done
Heya you should look up The Doublejumps if you like Unknown Mortal Orchestra. It's a band from home country (new zealand)
I found this song after I got back from deploying to Syria. I got the travel bug to explore more of the world and now I'm living in Japan. I couldn't be happier with where life has taken me and I don't plan on stopping the adventure anytime soon. Get out of your bubble and explore the world now, you won't regret it!
i dont know why but this song makes me happy and hurts me at the same time, its beautifully sad
A perfect and Awesome meaning !! I felt the Same !
it reminds me of Souk Eye in the same way as its a beautiful day but someone/thing is missing
U a soft one

Sooo beautifull , incredible atmosphere, especially with the video
R y a n C e l s i u s ° S o u n d s Why do people put weird filters over The Simpsons? It makes me cringe. I have been a fan of the Simpsons for over a decade and it makes me sad when I see a "hype beast" version of Bart or homer.

Watched this and then went on a High Speed Rail holiday around Western Europe in 2022, was amazing. I'm glad I found this.
The best!! So much to do lol The train, stops, everything 🛤️🐝💭⌚📰🖋️☕🍵🍰
The epitome of good background music. I find myself always having this playing while im paying my attention to something else
There's something about this song that is so honest and pure. Its not trying to be cool, its not trying to make a message or shake your booty... its about as pure a feeling, a wonderful a sensation as a soft breeze, the feeling of you loved ones fresh hair across your face, the coziness of a comforter in the dark of winter with her... or him.
Its dedicated to his daughter, he wrote the song thinking about her, thats what makes it so pure I think ❤️
I FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG MAN I MADE THE BEST DANCE VIDEO TO THIS SONG!!!!!

That guitar solo at 3.23 my guy went in
Favorite part about the song. So wild
Finding out he wrote this for his daughter makes me love it even more 💕
kim lip really got herself recognized by the artist who’s song was playing in the bg while she’s just there eating
First heard this 2 years ago. Feels like a lifetime. Still makes me happy when I hear this. I know it’s selfish, but I’m kinda glad this song didn’t completely blow up. Still feels special, a hidden gem.
The nuance of this video is incredible... at 3:35 the music becomes distorted with the guitar and the images are things that make you feel like there might be impending doom, but at 3:51 the music changes and everything is okay. Seriously a trip.
My dude haha
@@JoseRuiz-fo7wd suhh bruh
I disagree about the end being okay. I think they left it open to interpretation as a way of pointing out that life’s gonna be dangerous and throw hurdles at you and it’s up to you to look at it optimistically or pessimistically
Hell yeah dynamics

When I watch this video, I remember living abroad and using the TGV to travel everywhere. I felt like a lonely nomad, yet I miss it.
