- Just a quick video of my 2016 BMW 328i X drive getting a res delete as well as already having previous muffler delete.

why on earth would u have music playing when you want us to listen to your exhaust
did this to my n55, i love it. believe me, do res and muffler... dont question it, in total mine was 165$ US. I went in the first time just to get the res delete, and it made little difference with no drone. I would prefer anyone thats interested in doing this, do res first if you are scared. If you want more do the muffler. Both are cheap to put back on but I would do it in two steps just in case you dont like it. love the ride man keep up the good work.

@@BigALdeek actually when i first got the muffler delete, i got an error code, bought an OBDII reader on amazon for $40 and told me it was running to lean.. which was expected.. the turbo was spooling a little bit easier and the fuel at first wasn't keeping up with it so it threw the code. i cleared it with my reader and it never came on again 2 years now without a code. Apparently bmw ecu adapts air to fuel ratio on its own relatively quickly, even when i removed both resonators it still never came on, it automatically adjusted the fuel.

same here! had to code it out with bootmod3, crazy just an intake could do that.
What did you do for the quad tips?
Did you buy a separate diffuser and then weld in to makw a two exhaust look or what??
instead of one pipe and muffler going back to the bumper out the left side. i cut it before the muffler, inserted a Y-pipe, and then welded two individual pipes to the back bumper and then welded 2 dual tips. Spent about $100 on a quad tip rear diffuser, $150 on the exhaust tips, and about $200 in welding/exhaust work.
DARK F30 did you have to change the trunk storage to create room for dual exit ?

What I need to kno is do you get any engine check checks I wanna remove both resonator and Muffler on my 428i GC but don’t want error codes and shit
U never replied got this shit done ur right it’s not as loud as say a V8 but there’s definitely a difference. It sounds different on Eco mode and Sport modrn
my apologies for the late reply man! i got a check engine light a couple times and bought a code reader for $40 and ended up finding out it was just running to lean, (too much air rather than fuel) because it flowed more freely. i erased the code with the reader and it was fine ever since. i guess the computer automatically adjusts the air to fuel ratio.

Is the section 1 resonator for emissions? Want to see if I will pass smog with it deleted.
i didnt have any issue with smog, the cat thats in the downpipe will throw codes and not pass smog.
Was wondering how much of a downpipe would the muffler delete + the resonator delete equivalent too, can anyone tell? Because I kenos that the muffler is very restrictive and also is the downpipe and also the resonator but I didn’t want to take out my downpipe and put a catless u don’t want to do that so my other option would be a resonator plus muffler delete anyone can tel me the porcentagem?
If i understand correctly... im thinking if you get a downpipe you will have a lot more power out of your car instead of just taken out the muffler and resonator. i barely noticed any power difference once getting rid of the muffler and resonator. Major sounds difference but not much of a power difference. That comes from a downpipe and tune.
DARK F30 I have a bmw 328i f30 also and I want to make it sound more aggressive - I do not care about performance, and dont want to mess with the down pipe and cat - do you recommend a muffler and resonator if I dont care about performance?
@@TexanSquabble Sorry it took so long to reply! im uploading a video at this moment of all resonators taken out and a muffler delete. its completely straight from the down pipe back. it sounds amazing. Cold starts are very loud but like i said it sounds great and i did notice my turbo spool up faster with it more open!

DARK F30 Hey ok so what I am thinking is doing a muffler delete and section 2 resonator delete. If I remove the section 2 resonator and put a straight pipe there, will I fail emissions? Or is there not another Catalytic converter in section 2? If taking the resonator out will cause me to fail emissions, I am just going to do a muffler delete. I don’t know as much, so hopefully you know the answer!
Never seen one on a stock bumper? Where’d you get your rear diffuser?
i actually got it on ebay for $110. just a poly bumper, no carbon or anything.

so when you remove muffler and resonators are you actually gaining power, losing power or nothing changes in terms of power?
i actually feel a big power difference, i have no tune done either. Its quicker off the start than it was before and the turbo spools up faster, my throttle response feels much more responsive. a downpipe and a tune from someone like Pro Tuning Freaks would be the next best thing, id expect close to 40whp from that set up.
to really Answer your question... on vehicles with turbos... the more free flowing the exhaust is the faster it will feel. The turbo can spool up much faster as it doesn't have to constantly push air through a cat, resonators and muffler. On non turbo cars i could see a decline in performance as there needs to be that bit of back pressure to hold things running smoothly.
@@F87COLE got ya i was told that when you delete muffler and resonator you actually lose torque at lower rpms
@@d1mitrov yeah before the turbo is spooled and its relying on basically just the motor.. you would lose more low end torque going straight pipe.. but keep in mind the turbo spools up much faster and earlier as well specially if you have a tune. so your basically causing one issue but fixing it by another at the same time lol. i dont notice much power at all until about 3,000rpms.
feels like a 2.0 - 4 cylinder without any turbos below 3,000 rpm

de-cat your downpipe. This will make it hella loud. But will fail emission tests
install catless downpipe for sure.

havent tuned it as of yet but will be getting a downpipe which i will then probably get a bootmod3 tune
How much total about for both plus tips?

Hey man, i already have a muffler delete. Now I’m looking to do a resenator delete. It’s a 100$ and was wondering if it’s worth it, like will it even be that much louder.
Hey man, its not any more loud below 3500rpm but above that its much louder. you get more burbles and gunshot sounds without even having a tune. Cold starts are extremely loud though.
i would look into BOOTMOD3 as a tune, get the resonator delete done and use the tune to remove the cold start and control the burbles and pops a bit more.
if i could go back i would probably only get a muffler delete done, and a catless downpipe and a tune rather than the resonator delete.
The resonator delete makes it much more loud of course but it doesnt really keep the tone as nice anymore.
When I got mine I did both it was super cheap when u do them together what I was hesitant about was removing the Cats which I didn't touch just the Resonator and huge ass Muffler and he's the starts are loud but within 1 or 2 mins it completely chills out

a little bit but not really enough to actually have more fun, the sound just really makes you feel faster lol

The first one is actually a secondary cat. The N20 engine doesn't have it but the N26 does because of emissions laws here in the US. Learned about it the other day as I'm doing exhaust work on mine as well
What size pipe you use?
3 inch - down to 2.5 inch with y pipe, with 2.5 inch out to the back tips.
Did you keep the exhaust flap?
i didnt actually. i zip tied the harness up and left the flap on the muffler. i was thinking of using it and making a custom valved system but by the time i would be finished everything and got some proper welding done.. i could have probably just bought an armytrix system.
Why do you have 4 exhaust tips if it’s a 328i

@@darkxyt4706 I just did 1 resonator and muffler yesterday haha .. sounds good and perfect 👍 it’s just your cabin interior blocks out a lot of noise.. I want to do 2 resonators but it might cause a shaking steering wheel 😬 you’ll be begging the next day to slap it back on.

Ever think about getting the 2nd cat delete? Might give u the burble sound to finish it off .
i have quite a bit of burbles now, thinking of getting a downpipe first and then if its not loud enough yet or not enough burbles.. i will be taking out the second one forsure!
DARK F30 that's cool then I get burble but its like at really low rpm for some reason. Ill try deleting the 2nd cat and give u feedback on it. When I had my e90 330i I had 2nd cat muff and resonator delete and burbles were so good especially at high rpm . But I can understand from a point of view that its different since f30 are turbo and the e90 330 wasn't .
yes exactly! i get most of my burbles in eco mode at 2000 rpms! id love some more up top forsure
Second cat delete brought me much more burbles. More like gunshots once in a while!
I have a res delete and muffler delete and the 2nd cat delete its crazy loud when I leave for work I have to just put it in drive and let it roll down the street till I get to the end and even then in thinking someone's getting woken up lol. Then when I hit the street I let it rip. I wasn't sure about keeping it like that at first but the 2nd day I had it some kid walked up to me and said he liked my car and it sounded like a race car and that made my day so fully deleted it stays!

@@F87COLE so you took off the Muffler, Resonator and 1 Cat? Maybe the Cat threw out the Error codes? I did the Muffler + Resonator never got a Light
