    I was brought up in a large family and none of us were religious however, if any of us lied and were caught in the lie it was a huge offense in our home. I’m now 74 and my number one rule in life is truth and I’ve found that it has served me well, lying is to very hard work,I look at the UK Tory party and believe they must be exhausted

      How very true. When I was lying to my parents,(usually didn't admit that I did something very trivial), and was ashamed that I dissapointed my parents. My mum said, that I should of admit of wrong doing, and apologised. I think she was more upset that I lied, than anything else. I think, lies don't pay off, in particular if you are in a public office, you should set an example. I lost trust completely in our politics. What is really sad, that she is an adult. You could forgive a little kids. When you grow up, however you should learn from your mistakes. 🤨🤨🤨

    What I will never understand, is how people both respect people like her, while also degrading "people on benefits." They'll talk endlessly about how it's disgusting that people get public money, yet they don't seem to care when it's rich people like her taking public money, they have so many "allowances" it's ridiculous. They get their large salary, their second homes, their costs paid for, their meals paid for, travel expenses paid for and then they claim all the extra allowances they possibly can. People are so blind to their double standards.

      She did not seek to claim anything in this regard on expenses, so what is your point?.

    As a civil servant (not a Whitehall 'mandarin') civil servants are required to follow the CS code....one tennet is 'honesty' another is 'integrity'...so the servant involved breached the CS code.

      That's not the issue though. The issue is that she tried to get civil servants to arrange a private course for her so she wouldn't have to mingle with the plebs, which is a breach of the ministerial code. The code which she was sacked for breaking before. If she was caught speeding and either paid the fine or did the course without trying to use her power to pull strings, it wouldn't be a big deal. Being home secretary doesn't mean she's above the law!

Rishi promised accountability in his government, so now it's time to actually deliver one of his promises for the first time ever!

    To me, the most bizarre thing about her is that her parents somehow came to the conclusion that the name Sue Ellen conjured any sort of positive imagery.

    She could hold the policies she does, and present them neutrally. They'd still be callous and cruel, but at least they'd seem neutral. However, she seems pleased and almost gleeful about them, and constantly uses disgusting, inflammatory language, which adds a deliberate layer of toxicity to what she says and does, and that's what I find to be truly contemptible about her.

      It's a lot worse than that. She tried to avoid the vote on her flagship legislation on migration in spite of a three-line whip. Let this sink in: her own legislation went to the vote and she asked to be excused from voting. Her gleeful enthusiasm on cruelty is not reflected in actually doing the deed when necessary. She intentionally attempted to fail those who put her in parliament. What she does and what she says are two different things. And yet her base only hear her talk and never bother to check her actions.

    It's a witch hunt for something petty, she asked if it was possible to do the punishment privately or under an alias, big deal, I don't expect to share attending a driver awareness course for speeding with the whole country, why should she? In the end she paid the fine and took the points rather than share attending the course with the whole country and yet they learn of it anyway. She should be re-imbursed as a minimum for the breach of her privacy on the matter.

    You are gonna love this. I called the Met police and told them there is a terrorist on the loose. When I explained the person in charge of national security and MI5 was leaking classified documents and just got fired for it, they said "so she's been fired what's the problem", to which I answered "she's just got her job back".     Why are MPs who break the ministerial code allowed to simply resign and then be reinstated at a later date? Surely we need to change the laws/rules. Any MP found to have broken the ministerial code should be sacked and never allowed to serve in public office ever again. I don't understand why, as a country, we put up with this behaviour lol
