My favorite Zimmermann piece so far. It is all there: colorful orchestration, experiment, quotation and Stravinsky-like pastiche.

A charming piece by Zimmermann, somehow repetititve in its begninning, then soft and lyrical, and so on following the scheme provideed by Marcel Aymé - charming !!!

Uno Zimmermann singolarmente "castiglioniano"! Timbricamente (e anche, mi permetto, spiritualmente) assai vicino a molte pagine del grande italiano. Bellissima musica. Grazie davvero!

Quite different from anything else I have ever heard from this Composer... His musical imagination seems endless!

Un petit Rein is actually quelque chose. Surprising miniature character pieces, very nice sounding and good-humored. Fun. Thank you for this little suite....

    I live in setif (Algeria)
Across the street where I live, there is a beautiful house built in the 1930s, named "Le petit rien " !

Oh and he wrote quite a few early chamber pieces which are broadly tonal such as Kleine Suite for Violin and Piano or Drei Geistliche Lieder. They are more in the sound world of Un Petit Rien

Alagoana: Caprichos Brasileiros, is also a very accessible piece from Zimmermann. Although you can't find it in You Tube.

Sense of humor?? I would call it good humored, but not humorous. First piece I heard from Zimmermann, and I liked it, but I havent found more 'classical' music from him. Would anyone know which are his more traditional pieces?
