Being Assamese and lived in other parts of India and now in Europe, I still feel the variety in simplicity of Assamese food cannot be matched. And life in an Assamese village if given some better facilities from the government (or even for someone living off the grid) is the best life one could lead - fresh food, clean air, living amidst the sights and sounds of nature in perfect weather. Cleansing for the body and soul. Assam is the best place on Earth, and someday I’ll be back home.
She is in control. Very organized, everything seems to be done to perfection while using tools that would be difficult for us easterners to manage. I complain about my stove not working,etc. Looking at the way she handles water and the one wood fire adding and pulling pieces of wood to get the right temperature. She made at least 6 different dishes plus rice. When I thought it was all over she prepared and cooked a duck. Everything so effortlessly and beautiful. This is a feast for a well to do family. Being poor has nothing to do with one’s creativity, education and enthusiasm.I enjoyed every single moment of this video. Thank you for sharing. I should try organizing myself like her for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
