  • Eclipsed by other British sports cars made by MG, Triumph, Austin-Healey, Sunbeam and Jaguar, the Daimler SP250 only lasted for five years. Al Warner of Bloomfield, CT owns one of the 2,654 examples of the V8 model that were built. He took it for a spin near his home for RIDE-CT. (Editor's note: The narration in the video incorrectly identifies model as a 1960. While the car was produced in June 1960, it was registered as a 1961 model after being shipped to Canada in February 1961. RIDE-CT apologizes for the error.)

Used to look after one of these in my younger days. Always liked driving it. Quick car for the sixties. Engine designed by Edward Turner of Triumph motorcycles parallel twin engine fame.

Lucky you. I'd never heard of it until I stumbled across one at a car show.

@@ride-ct-classiccars Got stopped by the police who used a few of them in the Metropolitan Police area. Speeding on my motorbike. They let me off! 1965, I think. Looked after some rare cars right through to 1991.
