When you translate Rios rhymes, they rhyme in English too. And he actually uses this for like a quintuple entendre on the 123456 bar. He is a bilingual wizard

So I've watched A TON of reactions to this song and this video is my favorite analysis of what going on. So I wanted to add a lil sumthin I think most commenters missed. And that's the fact that not only did they kill this classic beat, they also paid homage to the original song in their flows and cadence. I went back and rewatched the original song to catch them specifically. Here's a breakdown (I probably missed some stuff).
-the way Rios starts it off low is reminiscent of Bustas verse when he gets quiet in the middle. That "as I combine all the juice from the mind" part.
-Taj starts using a flow like Phife Dawg did in the first verse of the original when he says "Luckily I had a good idea, you should study what we do and level up I guarantee you"
-Rios says "ay Dios mio, ay Dios mio" which means "oh my God, oh my God" which is exactly what Busta says in his verse and he uses the same rhythm.
-when the screen goes black and Rios returns with "and I'm back" is like Busta when he goes "uh follow me uh, as I come back." They both also happen when the music drops out.
-on more than one occasion Eric uses call and response which was such an important part of the original song.
-when Ras goes "huh huh huh baby I'm coming" it's like Busta says "huh huh huh all over the track"
-the way Ras says "who wants to walk a mile in my sneaks go BOOM" is like when Busta says "powerful impact BOOM from the cannon"
-in the end when Ras has that call and response section: "knight y'all (knight y'all), knight y'all (knight y'all) cop ya merch it's on sight y'all (on sight y'all)...it's similar to the beginning of Charlie Brown's verse in the original: "yes yes y'all (yes y'all) who got the vibe, it's the tribe y'all (tribe y'all) real live y'all (live y'all)
So not only are their lyrics, chemistry, and energy off the charts, they also did their homework to make sure they paid proper homage to the original song. The depth of dopeness is insane!
When the original Scenario came out I was in middle school and it was my favorite song. So I got strong nostalgia for it. But I have to admit that Coast Contras version is right up there with it! I haven't been this excited for hip hop in years!

The thing about Coast is that their verses are SO DENSE! Layers upon layers in each bar. By the time you finish listening, your brain is tired from all the work it did AND you know you gotta listen again because you missed something. This is TRUE hip hop at its finest!
Another commenter said they don't have any competition from a group out today. Maybe that's why they keep freestyling over old-school beats...because they're trying to compete with history.....🤔🤔🤔

me les rio (laught at; his lastname and his artistic name; river) - i bring the bridge (puente; one of his nicknames:"The Bridge") like tito (tito -puente-, Latino musician, same as Rios, very famous in New York on the 50s). It's actually insane how he can do these double and tripple meannings in both lenguages and still have that raw flow.

@RKRYT yeah, they even use a lot of the flows and punchlines from the original track which makes it even better.
You can tell the must love that song they way they are paying homage and in places almost copying it but in their own modern Coast Contra style with their own heavy bars and punchlines but still with a very strong theme of the original track,

Being from Philly I cant help but rock with EJ pause. He's not the best ever yet but what he might be the top of is the short list of rappers who can combine a creative tone, delivery, demeanor, phrasing, and cadence. The way he can lean on and off of certain syllables and stretch and pull the syllables he wants to extenuate while also changing the brightness of his voice to match along with it might make him the goat. I'm thinking of spitters like Biggy, ODB, MF DOOM, Nikki Minaj, Lil Wayne , Eminem, E 40, Redman , Andre 3000
He's seemingly mastered a craft that often seperates the spitters we want to rewind from the ones we want to fast forward ⏩ it's very simple really you can either deliver your bars, by themselves, on a paper plate no salt , no mayo no nothing. Or you can serve your bars as one of the entrees along side of Mac and cheese , hot wings, cherry coke with extra ice ,plenty of napkins. Give the people your bars as an experience. Bars + body movement (pause) + move in and out of character + add bass to your voice when it needs to be said from the chest+ maybe whisper on the beat when it's appropriate+ make the listener feel something , clever punchlines and super rhymy rhymes are cool but even Shakespeare is boring without the balcony and the lights and costumes.

Something I haven't seen reactors notice, and maybe it's because it is so obvious, is that after that amazing opening, Eric Jamal starts the B section of his verse with "paint me next to Mona Lisa". He's saying not only am I giving you art, its considered the greatest art of all time and deserves to stand next to the other greatest art of all time. He goes on to appreciate her as art, but then says "she's so cheezy, thinks she wants a piece of me".
