@@roseamberzine5846 No, she didn't strain. Amber is a Soprano. Her voice sits much higher and is brighter than Beyonce's. Since she won the latest edition of The Masked Singer, people have been putting up videos of the keys she hits during her songs. Amber basically stays in the Soprano register (5th octave) when she sings. When she goes lower, she typically only goes down to the higher part of the 4th octave. Beyonce, on the other hand, spends a ton of time in the Tenor register (3rd octave) and works her way up to the 5th octave (Soprano register) for dramatic effect. Patti Labelle, another true Soprano, likes to stay in the 5th octave (like Amber) as well.

@@roseamberzine5846 I understand why you said what you said. What you hear isn't strain but a difference is placement. When Beyonce sings (and how Amber was known for singing on Glee), you hear what's called "forward placement" -- very much black church. The sound is very resonant and "in your face" -- like it could blow out the speakers. Here, Amber is using what's called "back placement" -- because of the slower tempo and intimate setting. A voice is like a fingerprint. Each is unique. Given that Amber is an artist, she didn't try to imitate Beyonce. It would be illogical for her to do so.

It's the way she does her thing so effortlessly! The sign of a true singer is being able to take any song and not only SANG it but sang it and make it your own and do it true justice. I truly hope she sees the success she deserves in this lifetime. She is so very talented and gifted. Simply one of the greatest singers of our generation!
