Here is a special trailer we shot to promote the series on VHS videotape... such great memories!
Now the Faerie Tale Theatre is available on modern format 'DVD', and some episodes are even here on CZcams!

Yes, she's receiving some attention for a horror film she's filmed a part in. People Weekly also did a piece on her. I recall from a couple of years ago when Dr. Phil had an in-depth interview with her. Entirely unrecognizable. It seemed so exploitative and I frankly never thought she'd be able to pull herself out of mental illness. I remembered these videos as well from when I was a child and I do remember her fondly through them and other films she did as well. God bless her - she certainly never had a fairytale life, but it would be wonderful to see her onscreen again.

Well, sadly, as of today she passed away.
I didn't realize the same "fairy tale lady" i begged my mom to put on tv was the same Shelley Duvall I would come to know as a teen until well into adulthood. I appreciate your works and status as a fixture in my childhood so much Miss Duvall. Thankyou again
"Fairy tale lady" lol that's true. When I was a kid, I used to call her of "narrator" or "fairy tale hoster" - and also didn't know she was from The Shining 😂
Strange. As a kid, I never saw her as a "fairy tale lady" or anyone else. The first time I saw her, she was Olive Oyl in the Popeye movie. Quite coincidental since Robin Williams who played Popeye in that movie was also on Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre. Also, at the end of this promo, when they listed all the celebrities who played the characters in the various stories, they forgot to include Pee-wee Herman (or in their case, Paul Reubens) for Pinocchio.

Watching this trailer in the mid 1980’s as a kid is a memory that will bring me happiness. Thank you Ms Duvall, all other actors and actresses both living and deceased who contributed to this fabulous series.

💔R.I.P😪💔 I just heard the news and am so sad. I came looking for this video as it brings back such happy memories from my childhood and was a major influence for me growing up as an imaginative kid! I am going to find FairyTale Theatre and bingewatch it all and have a good cry over my lost childhood fantasies that never came true 🫣 (Still waiting for a prince and a cottage of my own 😅)

I watched on the Arsenio Hall interview with Miss Duvall that many of these famous actors wanted to be cast in her show because alot of their kids couldn't watch the films they normally do. Also it was a labour of love it was said. She was an icon and legend🎉🎉.
I was just a kid when I first saw these. Seeing this promo shook the cobwebs from my mind, and I'm just blown away remembering all of these. I had forgotten. Thank you, Miss Duvall for helping me remember.
This was my favorite growing up in the 80s and still go back to it once upon a time here and there as an adult sharing it with my daughter. I'm such a kid at heart but this was so beautifully made and glad I have them still on DVD. Shelley Duvall truly embodies a fairy tale goth princess . A timeless treasure so sweet so beautiful and fanciful. She's something so special never could be mimicked again.

I’m too young to have seen them when they were first on the air, but my local library had a bunch of episodes on video and we would rent them all the time. I loved the Frog Prince, because I was a huge Robin Williams fan as a kid.

I didnt see the credit roll for Paul Ruebens Pinnocio. He really looked like a great Pinnocio. I never seen this show though. I just now searched for it after a CZcams channel Grim"""" something or another's host, interviewed Shelly Duvall and the host mentioned this show, and how much it ment to her growing up.
