I love watching you guys but Matrix Opals not real I hope that you tell people that it's Matrix when you sell it

You misunderstand, matrix opal is real, and it does/can have nice colour before its treated, its opal mixed with different types of things like potch, sandstone, granite, ironstone, and many other rocks, they then isolate the best parts of the stones/opal they find and treat it to make the opal surroundings go black, the more porus the opal/stone the better the treatment will reach deeper into the opal/stone,
but you can definitely cut a piece of matrix opal that has been untreated and it can have large solid pieces of opal haha
You can tell its treated by the darkish backgrounds and the bright colours, but again, you can be wrong just have to do tests like cutting and chemical tests

previous response is correct, Its real opal (although treated) but its hard to put a % number on how much compared to the host stone. Hence why concrete is less valuable than matrix and matrix less valuable than solid, untreated matrix or concrete also has color but of low vigor (unless ironstone matrix which is naturally dark, like koroit opal for example), which is why they treat it from andamooka as its a white host stone.
Im yet to see a false listing for andamooka opal (treated or untreated) in my time buying (i cut opal), as its so unique and easily identifiable compared to other forms of opal. Doublets and tripletts are harder to spot the difference to solid opal and generally where the dodgy and miss listing sales are ! But andamooka opal has its own unique selling points/customer base. some people like it better than solid opal!
